I found an Anaconda with small thermal shock beams (pushed my Cutter past 80% heat at one point) that was worth a million credits in a threat 5 today.

I always said in a Wing of 4 Engineered ships that a HazRez is easy and gets really dull quick. Now this will be totally worth & can also help newcomers Practice PvP against Engineered ships. o7, Commander!!

@@Exigeous - Went there last night in a Threat 6, first time. I was in my Fer-de-Lance, and I'm not gonna say I'm the best FDL ever, but I'm pretty dang good. Long story short, it was challenging, but ALOT of fun!! Came back to a Threat 7 with my Cutter and a wing mate in his Corvette and we tore the place up with plenty of mats to go around. Thanks, CMDR!! Great videos, keep 'em coming!!

Pirates are my favorite target. Nice to know I dont have to only solo the wing pirate bounty missions for thrills.
@liirha

I have seen Imperial Shielding, Core Dynamic Composites and Pharmaceutical Isolators drop from these. But, only from the big three ships and not guaranteed even in a Threat 7. If you are looking for Grade 5 materials, I recommend focusing on the bigger ships in the instance. Eventually though you might need to kill a bunch of the smaller ones to get the big ones to spawn again.
@Exigeous
@Exigeous 6 лет назад
Yeah, they do drop but they are extremely rare - definitely not the best for G5 farming.
@panzerstorm9016
@panzerstorm9016 6 лет назад
Seems about the same drop rate as killing top-tier ships in a haz res to me
@Exigeous
@Exigeous 6 лет назад
The issue is a haz res spawn rate can be highly variable where these will have a steady stream - that and the ships here are MUCH harder given many will be engineered so the combat is far more fun.
@liirha
@liirha 6 лет назад
@@Exigeous Yep, plus they usually have much higher bounties on them.

Plans for the night..Acquired! I had found one of these before! I think it was a threat 6, we dropped in to around 5 Conda's and literally 20 FDL's it was an absolute blast made millions in no time at all! Looking forward to this!

JansterLE I twice got some piracy - uss (Threat 5-7) in systems with state civil unrest and pending to boom. Never found them in lockdown systems.

Awesome, just awesome. I didnt think there was any thing left for me to try in this game.Idont do the pvp or multicrew but ihave really powerfull ships and this looks like good fun.
@Exigeous
@Exigeous 6 лет назад
Well if you have some really powerful ships you really should give PvP a try - have a look at my beginners guide on it as it'll help you get started. There's nothing like sparing with an intelligent opponent, once you try it you'll get it and likely get hooked like most of us do.

First time i've gone in a Threat 7 it didn't had any cap ships, so maybe when the system is independent it won't have any cap ship

I also recommend to bring a Kill Warrant Scanner and if you fly a shield tank a repair limpet can be useful if you want to stay there for a long time; I usually get bored way before I need to repair my hull though. I don't think this is a good way to farm combat rank because you only find deadly npcs in these pirate activities, a compromised nav beacon in an anarchy system is still faster (not sure though) but I agree with you: thargoid scouts are far better than both methods. Nice video as always Ex.
@Exigeous
@Exigeous 6 лет назад
Great point about a KWS, I just don't do bounty hunting anymore so that was a stupid thing for me to leave out. As for repair limpets I'll definitely disagree there as I'd never give up 2 optional slots for the limpet controller and cargo rack vs. 2 hull reinforcements. As for rank I did get several Elite level ships - but regardless you're right about Scouts and even that CNBs may be faster - this is just a bit more fun as the combat is higher skill.

@Exigeous

They were just added back in 3.2 and only appear in Lockdown (and possibly Civil Unrest) systems - and you have to be within 1000 ls of them.

Glad you're enjoying them - and here you go. You could change the weapons, this is my farming build so I use an easier setup rather than a PA meta setup, and the single healing beam is nice if I bring friends with unengineered ships: s.orbis.zone/6z_

I found the bounties to be inferior to a standard haz res, probably mostly because it took far longer to destroy the ships but the bounties weren't any better. Honestly the mats didn't wow me either. Better than haz res perhaps, but not worth the dragged down combat. Also sites don't stay around long and it takes quite some time to locate even one. They don't spawn too reliably at civil unrest (the state I was looking for), and the thing is, as you spent half your night looking for one you should know that it might not be there the next day. In short, I was disappointed, but not surprised. A sharply increased risk with only slightly increased rewards, if even that. It's the FD way.
@Exigeous
@Exigeous 6 лет назад
Interesting, I've found the bounties to be a good bit higher - but that too is the Frontier way. As for Civil Unrest that's why I said to go to Lockdown systems as so far every one I've been to as had one. Remember they only show when within 1000 ls, just like a RES, so you may have to head to a planet or station. For me the extra skill required is the reason to go as a HAZ res is just way too easy once you move into fully engineered ships and PvP combat. Just nice to have a challenge from an NPC for a change.
@NomadSoul76
@NomadSoul76 6 лет назад
CMDR Exigeous I guess for me it doesn't register as a challenge. It just feels like it's taking more time. It feels like combat turns into a grind. I may have tried lockdowns too, but I'll try it again. My old gold rush is basically dead and I'm lacking a new goal and am feeling the need for some combat. Its that or grinding out another engineer, anyway.
@Exigeous
@Exigeous 6 лет назад
Well I can't argue with that as if you feel that way you do - honestly I do very little NPC combat these days as even with these sites it's not a real challenge. Once you taste PvP blood it's really hard to enjoy anything else. I do really enjoy Thargoid combat so if you haven't maybe give that a go.
@NomadSoul76
@NomadSoul76 6 лет назад
I'm mostly staying away from PvP combat, let's just say for my own reasons. The only PvP I've ever done has been back when CQC first came out in that mode, but I immediately disliked it and never really felt the desire to go back. You mentioned thargoid fighting. I'd been avoiding that previously because it looked like too much of a hassle with the requirement for special purpose weapons and all the gimmicky alien abilities you need to deal with. And yet your video on fighting the scouts did pique my interest. That's certainly something to try. But you know what really interests me? Group thargoid combat. I haven't looked up a lot of videos on thargoid combat, but somewhere I ran into one anyway and watched a bit of it. I was surprised to see how much it appealed to me. It's difficult to explain what it was that appealed, but it was something about the variety of different kinds of ships, potentially filling different roles, at least theoretically working together as a team. It looked more like one or two were doing most of the work, but still the idea is there. Rather than the only question being whether ship A can blow up ship B, it becomes a matter of what ship A can add to what ship B can do. But I wouldn't even know where to begin in finding a group to do that with. I'm not normally one for organized group stuff anyway. But if the thargoid combat works for me it's certainly something to look into.
@Exigeous
@Exigeous 6 лет назад
First you really should consider giving PvP another go - I have a beginners guide on it that lays it all out. The same for Thargoid Interceptor (the big guys) combat - my video not only explains the various attacks and strategies but details a few player groups (Anti Xeno Imitative and my group Level 11) that you can join/fly with to engage them in wings. In fact last night several guys from group including Gluttony Fang (a well know AX fighter) winged up to take down a number of them - and while I don't enjoy NPC combat at all (again love PvP) Thargoid hunting is rather fun.

How would you say the combat compares to soloing wing assassination missions? I'm guessing a tad bit more sustainable in a heavily engineered M fighter? Dare I try in my Vulture? :)
@cmdrchicago11b46
@cmdrchicago11b46 6 лет назад
Jon Stone these guys are pretty tough.. On the bright side you can go there and pick a fight with anybody, and nobody will jump in.. so you only have to deal with one at a time.. However I did notice that you'll find higher ranking and PCS in combat zones. They were mostly dangerous when I was there last night.

I was in the Vette - those are multicannons with the incendiary effect on them, which converts some of the damage from kinetic to thermal.
@cmdrchicago11b46
@cmdrchicago11b46 6 лет назад
They are definitely tougher there.. If you're just grinding for rank probably not the best place to be.
@Exigeous
@Exigeous 6 лет назад
Oh agreed - Thargoid Scouts are by far best for rank but these are definitely fun if you're looking for human NPC combat.

Nice video. I have a question. I built a silent running ship (Asp Explorer) and even if i'm 4-5 km away Npc ships see me. (I was wanted and had illict cargo) The ship runns very cold 12%heat. It does not matter if i go silent running either. Have to booste 8km away before they turn away. How is this possible, and are Fronier aware of this? Hope someone can give me an answer, thx :)
@Exigeous
@Exigeous 6 лет назад
That's because NPCs get to cheat and silent running doesn't effect them - plain and simple. Are Frontier aware of this? Well it's been an issue for over 18 months so I'd say yes - like many of the other long term bugs they clearly don't care about it's somewhere on the list below new ship kits and "personal narrative".
