TV, Windows, nVidia settings for the LG OLED CX TV as 120Hz PC monitor with G-SYNC / FreeSync 

Dude thanks a lot! I'm here in Brazil... I've been looking for a video with this information for two days... I was about to give up... I was very happy when I applied the settings and finally got 120hz on my TV... You are the best! You won another entry!

Thanks, I couldn't select 120hz in nvidias settings because I didn't know that I had to select 120hz in Windows' settings first.

Thank you so much! I was missing Gsync just because of that little unchecked box "enable settings for the selected display".

My LG OLED CX worked just fine on 4K 120Hz via a RTX3080 laptop. Haven't used it for some weeks. Now I'm connecting it again with the same HDMI 2.1 cable, but it's set in Nvidia on Ultra-HD 4K 60Hz instead of PC 4K 120Hz and on 60Hz in the Windows settings. When I change it in WIndows to 4K 120Hz the screen turns black, I accept the change, but it jumps back to 60Hz and the same happens in Nvidia, jumps back to Ultra-HD 60Hz.

FIX. I had to plug laptop straight into TV(It was going through my receiver at first) Then go to nvidia panel select only use 1 display(the TV) then I could select the correct res and refresh rate(IT WONT WORK WITH BOTH DISPLAYS ACTIVE)

Thanks for your help in finding the 120hz on MY G1 with a 3090. Straight after I clicked 120hz the screen started flashing/glitching. Turns out LG has both Gsync and amd premium turned on as default, turning off amd fixed it. Seems a bit dumb that they enabled both settings, I can see someone getting a seizure 😬

I can't switch to nvidia bits at 10 and neither RGB absolutely nothing can switch only when it's at 60 HZ which would be the problem thanks.

3:57 Real Cinema should not be on for PC use. That's for making sure 24fps content plays correctly through an app (like the built in apps on the TV, not desktop apps) or when watching a DVD or Blu-ray. It's not neeeded when watching streamed videos on a PC. It also adds input lag, so I have no idea why you have it on for a PC setup.

Great video! I wanted to ask a few question.I'm also planning to buy C1 to use as my PC monitor. 1)Have you also tried the CX in 1440p, 120Hz? I have a RTX 2080TI GPU (with HDMI 2.0 only), so I was wondering If it would be possible to play in 1440p, 120Hz and chroma 4:4:4 or RGB? 2)I have a question about LG picture modes (when using TV as a monitor). Now I was wondering when you change your HDMI input name to PC (in order to get low input lag and 120hz, chroma 4:4:4 or RGB). Can you then also change the picture mode? At the moment I have a Samsung QLED. There you also have to change your input name to "PC" in order the TV to recognize your computer and to play with low input lag, 120Hz etc. When applied, you can't change the picture mode. It stays as a "standard" picture mode.I found a workaround. After connecting PC to TV, change the input name from "PC" to "Bluray player" and then you can change picture mode to "Movie", which has better picture settings (colors, contrast etc.), you will sacrifice a little bit of input lag. But it is barely noticeable. So I was wondering is there also a similar workaround with LG OLED-s? can you also change the picture setting to a better one, when using TV as monitor or are you locked to the "standard picture" mode ? I have a 2070 running at 8 bit + dithering for this Tv with HDR. Is there a noticeable improvement going to 10 bit instead of dithering? Considering if I should change to rtx 30 series

Do you know how to get rid of the dimmin up and down for the light, i use Game mode setting. But when i fx open my gmail. There is some kind of autobrigtness that lights up when i open a mail. I does quite vivid on all light pages.

I can get everything to work at 4k 120hz with a single C1 but as soon as i switch to Nvidia Surround with multiple displays, HDR no longer works.

i have an rtx 3080, i've done everything you stated in the video but my text is blurry. When i put it back on 60hrz 4k it works. I have an hdmi 2.1 8k cable yet i still get this issue. I truly can't figure out what the problem is. Anyone else have this issue or any help? It still looks good with 60 hrz and my games can still run above it but i want my windows to be 120hrz as well.

Question I have a samsung q80t and Ive been unhappy with it as the freesync that I thought would work with nvida doesnt and vrr doesnt really work at all matter of fact the 4th port that is the only 2.1 port doesnt work at all hardly for 4k 120 though the others ones will but without vrr. Point is, Im thinking of buying this tv. But I really dont wanna be let down spending a good chunk of money all over again. Have you heard of anyone having issues with gsync with this tv? I have the rtx 3070 and am really excited about the idea of oled vs qled and this tv seems perfect but I thought the same with the samsung too? Btw I do have a certified cable which didnt help with my current tv unfortunantly

Do you have a fix for the tv going black when booting into windows? I have a 3080ti worked fine with my 2080ti but soon as I got the 3080ti soon as I boot into windows it goes bla k have to turn tv off then back on.ive tried 3 expensive certified 2.1 cables does it on all 3

I’m having issues with stuttering with my 3070 and LG BX. I used all your settings and 4k 120hz works but in game periodically it will freeze then quickly try and catch up to the current frame. It’s making Elden Ring pretty unplayable. When playing with my 165hz 1440p monitor it’s totally fine though. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Now my OLED55CX worked almost 1 year perfectly in 4K, 120hz, G-Sync, HDR via my laptop RTX 3080 GPU. But all of the sudden those settings are not available anymore. In the Nvidia settings I can only select in TV mode Ultra-HD: 4K 60hz no HDR. In PC mode only 1360 x 768 60hz is available (HDR works) When I choose 'HDMI Ultra HD Deep Colour' on the TV, it looses the signal. I though first the cable is faulty and replaced it with a new HDMI 2.1 cable, nothing changed. I also did a factory reset on the TV, I reinstalled Nvidia's GPU driver, I reinstalled the monitor driver in device manager, I tryed other HDMI ports on the TV and of course 'PC' is enabled in the TV's home dashboard. The issue remains. Any idea? It's so frustrating.
