It's here the same. 649nits is the maximum. And on top I have now issues with the SDR Black Level floor in Videos after installing the latest driver. My Video about it, is processing but it takes time because it's in HDR.
They definitely did something to the black floor because it seems to have the correct Gamma when using RTX HDR and the content is originally SDR 2.2 while using the HDR calibration app profile which is for originally sRGB SDR
Nvidia's SDR to HDR feature has been converted to work with video games in a mod. However it looks like nvidia is working to officially bring video game support in the future, so you won't need to use a mod to use it & the results may be better. But if you want to try it out early you can, I'm definetly curious as to how it compares to other methods of adding HDR to games
2 weeks ago I bought a QN90C mini led and this TV is absolutely mind blowing since it has perfect blacks with basically 0 blooming and the peak brightness,the HDR,the color gamut floating point,the perfect HGIG,the control over static and active tone mapping,the control over shadow details etc ,makes for an absolutely amazing TV. I understand that OLED was King back in 2020 but right now it's a complete other story with these absolutely amazing local dimming algorithms in mini LEDs. I mean some of these TV's are on par or even more expensive than some OLED models so it kinda makes sense that image quality is astonishing.
Are you using Nvidia's AI super resolution setting for videos? Its suppose to reduce bitrate artifacts on your web browser (RU-vid, Twitch, etc) it's in the nvidia control panel, similar to their HDR thing
I think it would be good to mention this is for LG Oled TVs specificqlly, I have a monitor and have none of these options, I knew already I had no use for it but others could get the wrong idea.
RTX VSR is very impressive and worth running for me on any sub 4k content really (even with the high power draw). It's also a nice combo with any auto-HDR method since those are more effective the cleaner the video/image is. I compared RTX VSR to other popular video upscalers such as Anime4k, FSR1, and AnimeJaNai but Nvidia's solution always came out on top no matter the type of content and its source.
Considering it's "v1.0" I'm very impressed with this feature from NVIDIA. Perhaps soon we will see a utility that can tweak its parameters at the driver level... or even hack it to work in games. 😱

Plasma! I saw in classy tech channel to set dtm to 500 in games , he said that it will fix midtones and dark scenes. And i just tried it for myself and i got to say …. That it look flawless!! I highlights are some punchy like hgig. I changed in secret menu mastering peak and max cll to 500 nits.
Plasma your focus is driving me nuts, can you please just have the focus on the C1 and you slightly out of focus for a "set and forget" typa setup or anything else but this torture. Love your vids.
I think the nit limit is normal considering you try to convert "SDR" for HDR, the amount of nits that you can get is proportionally connected with how much lights you can have in your scene. (regardless of how many nits your TV/monitor/display can manage. If you push it too much, you will get blown up images (from SDR content). That's why you produce content for HDR and its not the same to produce content for SDR. LG has a really powerful nit level, so lets see :)
I believe this might be the case. If you're viewing older camcorder type stuff on youtube, having it read the blownout whites to be displayed as peak highlights would look horrible. Would be really nice if Nvidia had an article up detailing this feature better.
Maybe the driver is just following the HGIG specification sheet, it doesn't matter what type of display you have it keeps the MaxFFTML at around 600 nits always, but somehow the MaxTML isn't kickcing in?.
Do you plan on making a video talking about the other stuff available with Reshade, like SweetFX and SpecialK just to name a few? Are you still experimenting and exploring with the other shader packages offered through Reshade? Do you think any of them can enhance MajorPain's Auto HDR + Lilium?
Is seems to make no differences so far on auto vs 700 nits maybe because of the processing difference in the c2. or maybe because i uploaded a calibrated tone mapping with calman.
Have you heard anything about the upcoming Samsung 32" G8 QD-OLED's BFI when gaming at 60fps? I'm assuming it's going to cut down the same old 50% of blur like every current OLED/QD-OLED 'TV', but if they can get the latency below 20ms(from 10ms without BFI) this time around instead of nearly 30ms(with the S90C & S95C) while retaining a decent amount of brightness than I'm sold. I want this 32", for those retro Analogue Nt HD Clone consoles. Just as another way or method to play NES, SNES, GEN & TGFX games. But only if i can get that 8ms BFI persistence at 60fps.

For 8-16 bit gaming, with those NES, SNES, TGFX & GEN HD clone consoles, OLED motion blur is a lot less offensive, since none of them are in first or even 3rd person. :P So i could probably manage no BFI. a 42" QD-OLED would of been the sweet spot for older 80's & 90's games, but QD-OLED's don't come in either 42" or 48" just yet. I'd rather take a 32" QD-OLED over a 42" WOLED any day. The big upgrade to colour is totally worth losing 10 inches. :P
Side question for strictly gaming - I have a C9 which has a max brightness of 790 nits per the Windows HDR software. Similarly I have the CRU max brightness set to 790 as well. My question is should I go into the secret menu and set my Mastering Peak and MaxCLL to 790 or 800 as well and will that make any difference? I dont even know if I can get into that menu or not but worth digging into? Thanks, keep up the testing!
This menu started on the CX. For the C9, use dynamic tone mapping. It would be possible to calibrate it to 650 with pro equipment but I wouldn't pay for it.
For the C9 calibration to get HGIG would be ideal. You would just need calman home for LG to enter the tone mapping curve values like HDTV test has shown in his videos, but he doesn't explain how to do it. The thing is that Calman Home for LG costs a ridiculous amount of money. There has ve a desktop free version to download somewhere
LG C2 - in HGiG max CLL is 683nits, tested in DTM also, max CLL is 2012nits. Used with windows hdr calibrated color profiles for HGiG and DTM. Using the AW3423DW, I can use the contrast setting on the monitor to set where the max peak brightness clipping is. At 89% contrast it roughly matches 650 nits as its peak and setting it back to 75% when wanting to view 1000nit content. This way I can always view content at max brightness. Still would like to see the AI try to match the reported peak of the display.
I can't even get the RTX HDR option to appear in the Nvidia app for some reason. I already tried disconnecting my other monitors (only 1 monitor - my LG C1 - is currently detected) and turned off Windows Auto-HDR, which are the two main causes I could find.
I'll test later on my c1. But as I heard MS Edge has issues with the brightness of all HDR content. Chrome doesn't have these issues. So maybe this is Edge issue, not Nvidia.
does PC even have HDR 10? Rise of the tomb raider was one of the first games. pc got hdr late from tv side. a change really. pc usually get's things first. Is there doubly vision?
Is there a reason why activating performance mode in Reshade leads to most games crashing? Some games it works fine, but with others it just causes everything to freeze.
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 Well, even when it works, I haven't noticed any performance boost at all. Frames just stay the same, so I guess it doesn't really make much difference either way.
and I dont have HDR tone mapping on my menu - followed your menu selections and that selection is not on my menu. so frustrating to have a knowledgeable you tuber fly through a tutorial and i get hosed early on.
Step on select mode and press quickly 1113111 to enter the HDMI signaling override secret menu. I fly through it because I've shown this in almost every video

When using Reshade based Auto HDR, I've run into an issue in certain games where enabling SCRGB in the AutoHDR settings causes the screen to go completely black. I can hear the music of the game, but there's no visuals. As an example, I'm having this issue with Remnant 2 at the moment. The only way to fix it is to disable SCRGB. Do you have any idea what might be causing this?
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 Just tried that, but unfortunately it didn't work. The screen is still black. It's really a shame, since I now prefer Reshade over Win 11 Auto HDR. I'm not sure if you have Remnant 2, but is it possible if you could test it on your end to see if you'd have the same problem?

NVIDIA DLSS 3 frame generation was interfering somehow, and once I disabled it the options menu for Remnant 2, I was able to get visuals with SCRGB enabled. No idea why that was causing the issue, but if you ever run into problems yourself, this is just a random bit of info to keep in mind.
Looking for some help guys.. I did my windows HDR calibration on my 77 inch S90C.. the results were 1280 nits.. however, when I go into the nvidia app, i can't increase the HDR past 800.. does anyone know I could do? Thanks
I'm getting crazy Max CLL on my C148 between 1150-2108 and I know I must be doing something wrong. I'm taking my screenshots in Fullscreen the ones that hit 2108 are on your video "This video" at 1:03 in 4k hdr. I get 1312 at 6:56 in the same video. Any suggestions on what could be causing this? Not sure if that makes a difference or not.
SDR video's max was 650 after checking. I recalibrated and now have a max of 1026 on everything so my old calibration gives me more brightness for sure but at the expense of everything looking washed out. Thanks for responding not that many creators do. @@plasmatvforgaming9648
Man Dtm is over brightening night scenes too much. Even when i set it 1000 nits. How can i fix that? Hgig is too dark. I am tired. Plasma please, please make more videos for console users too man .
