Jaden Ricca i dont agree with that. The Whisperers are actually amazing and they’re not “talking zombies” they’re people wearing walkers skin and Angela Kang (current showrunner) is actually doing a pretty great job and she cares about the show. In my eyes The Walking Dead would never reach season 9 with Frank Darabont. I think he would’ve end it by season 5 when the group reaches Alexandria.

I think Darabont wanted his zombies to be like George Romero's, slowly evolving over time. As we can in season 1 zombies could run, pick up and twist doorknobs

Darabont's zombies are also more human and retain some of their memories. It makes them both more terrifying and more tragic, as you can see the shadow of their humanity is still alive even as their bodies decay. It's why it makes a lot more sense for survivors to prefer suicide to turning in the early seasons, as they see something of the original might still remain. Later, post-Darabont, they make a point of showing with the experiments in Woodbury that walkers are completely mindless and have nothing of their original personality or memories.

Yes and also those who are frehs zombies from recent bite should still be fast/smart zombies. Nowadays it seems that fresh/aged zombies are all the same except the looks which doesn't make sense.

In the comics they also have completely immobile, disinterested zombies which just ignore everything around them unless they're disturbed, which is something missing from the show. I think it would have made the show much more interesting to have different types of walkers so you could never be sure if that group of zombies shambling along the road at you are apathetic and completely disinterested and will ignore you completely, walkers who will shamble at you slowly, or recently-turned sprinters who will lunge at you by surprise.

TWD has been slowly dying ever since Frank was removed. Even now they just started reworking fear the walking dead and everyone already hates it. People enjoyed the series until they made these pitiful human villain storylines when the audience wants to see zombies and survival.

@@haskapaska AMC did it because they were greedy, they purposely cut the budget in half just so they can cut corners and maximize profit, look all the advertising that goes on for the show and all the spin off shit but the actual show's quality is lacking, it was intentional. Companies love making money they didn't want to make an actual quality product if they did they would have kept Frank, they are going to basically milk the show until they can't milk it anymore and the whole money thing is bogus other shows kept their same high quality throughout their whole show run Walking dead was one of the few that showed a drop in quality immediately after it's 1st season.

I always felt the first season was on a whole different level to the ones that followed. Production value was higher, the writing seemed better, the walkers were almost partially sentient, and much more dangerous. So much better, imho! Maybe his leaving is the reason for the change. I almost never give up on something once I start, but I can’t watch this show anymore, and I’ve tried.

I wish AMC will make a new TWD series about the military losing control and that the main character should be a soldier worrying about he's unit, chain of command and him losing all he's friends while a safe zone is taken over by walkers and how he lost communication with the government and the whole world. This is just my idea of a new series or a webisode.

I doubt it. Robert Kirkman has said he'll never explain the origins of the outbreak and he wasn't really a fan of the CDC storyline either because he felt it gave away too much.

Now it kinda makes sense why season 1 has the most unique zombie behaviors. How they sit around like humans and try to open doors and look straight at people. I wish they just kept those unique traits.

Frank Darabont is a filmmaking genuis. AMC are fools for not keeping him on this show. TWD has really dumbed down in quality and every season feels like a carbon copy of the previous one. Find a sanctuary, stay there, sanctuary gets destroyed, find a new one. Frank would've never run into this sort of problem where it feels dragged out and repetitive. He would've actually had greater plans for the grander scheme of things.

I agree, I think now a mini series or film is the only way to see the collapse. Cameos from the two main series characters would be nice but otherwise I'd rather see new people with a survivor going on to be in one of the main series. Such a short series could show a more national perspective with events in Atlanta, LA & Washington DC.

That's an exaggeration. It still pulls more viewers than nearly any TV show ever made. People claiming that the quality of the show is bad can express that opinion, but its definitely not dead. Dead shows don't get eleven seasons.

Honestly I think that if season 2 was going to explain Atlanta’s fall and show the beginning of the epidemic, that would probably be lite to see. Probably more interesting than at the farm. I mean season 2 was good but now hearing this fall of Atlanta story, I feel the show would’ve gone some place better if we saw that

Days Gone Bye is about the best short movie involving "Zombies". If no other episode had been filmed it could have stood alone. Isn't it ironic that some of the elements of Darabont's planned second season were explored in Fear the Walking Dead. I can see why he sued.

I'm glad I finally found this story somewhere. I heard about this cancelled idea years ago, and I was always sad that it never came to fruition. A similar story, about the walker which Rick returns to kill near the beginning of the first season, really makes you feel for these things, the walkers who used to be people. I'm always thinking about stuff like this as I'm watching or playing through similar stories. What happened to cause this situation? Random circumstances, complete coincidences, or the kind of actions which have influence on those who follow when you're dead or gone? Such a shame. I really love Sam Witwer as an actor too, so it would have been great to see him at it again.

That still doesn't answer what happened to the military. The military is more than just the Army. The US Navy has around a dozen aircraft carriers, 60 or so destroyers, about 20 cruisers, and I haven't even mentioned subs and other vessels. The point is, we're talking tens of thousands of people, and as well, a zombie plague as depicted on The Walking Dead simply wouldn't spread on a ship like it would on shore, because people rarely die on ship unless there's some kind of accident. Then if someone were to die, it's already been established a walker doesn't climb ladders very well if at all, and military naval vessels are filled with ladders from stem to stern with watertight doors at the top of most all ladders. Personnel could easily contain an outbreak on a naval vessel of any nation's navy.

Also, on most aircraft carriers and destroyers, there is always a detachment of Marines on board for security to dispatch any shipboard threat.

There are a lot of reserve units and state guard units in the VA/DC/MD area, that would've still probably had med supplies, ammo and firearms, because most people would've tried to flee the city.

I think they did eventually return to Atlanta (cop story arc), right? But there were no guns or tanks left or they totally ignored them for some reason..........as for driving a tank, the internet says that if you know how to drive a car, then you know how to drive a tank. Gearing is automatic, a bike bar for steering and brakes, gas pedal to giddyup and go. The only problem would be the plane like assortment of switches and knobs that are used for things like starting the engine and adapting the tracks to driving conditons (I'm guessing things like asfalt, mud, grass, over houses, over zombies and so on 🤔)...When you see fuel figures for tanks then you can truely understand why survivors wouldn't use them. Tanks need supply routes, they cant go out roaming the countryard😂. Max range 265 miles, capacity 500 gallons of fuel and 0.5 mpg (donno if this is city. or extra urban) 😂

I would get the humvees if I was at a community. But if I was on the road like they were when they went back to Atlanta I wouldn’t take it solely cause no use for it and it’s just something else to carry/have with you

Darabant's following story does sound really interesting. Makes me wonder how the story with Rick would have followed and (or) how Rick's story line would have played into TWD And how different it may have been. Darabant had really good ideas for TWD too bad he was cut loose before his ideas could continue to come to life on screen for us to enjoy!

Darabonts zombies were so much scarier than ones in the later seasons as they can keep some memories of their past lives as shown by Morgan's wife when she returns to her house and some could run and a couple even jumped a fence

Yeah, compare how Rick is concerned about taking on 2 walkers at once or Daryl (yeah, he’s hurt but…) having a brief but intense fight with two. In later seasons it’s like “Ho hum, here comes a dozen Walkers” like more of a nuisance and something for the characters to do while the plot develops.

Really appreciate your style of explaining TWD as in its not an episode to episode explanation and prediction but more like an explanation to general scenarios like military failing, how the zombies work, end of world etc types. Really wish they would have done more past scenes before everything went out of control, just like FTWD did.

Damn this would have been so spectacular. And would have possibly changed the whole direction of Season 2. What #TheWalkingDead is missing now. It what it had in Season one. And that is a “soul” it had a tangible essence. Something we as fans identified with. We cared about the characters and the plot.

I said this on his episode about ‘where is government?’ (I think?), and I still say that I believe that the top tiers of the government are in hiding in Mount Weather or Cheyenne Mountain, even if TWD/FTWD wants to pretend that the government is completely gone. I would love to see a short series on the military falling back continuously until they declare ‘Wild Fire’ and essentially say everyone for themselves before fortifying themselves. Perhaps the series would end with the a scene where you see the last unit, perhaps including the protagonist, closing the MASSIVE door to the facility to the outside world, leaving it open to wonder whether the government and military will come out someday, or whether they never come out. (Also leaves it open to a film or another series)

Crazy to think Rick waking up from his coma, is 3 seasons into Fear the walking dead.. always wished we got to see more of the main group in the first two months.. they were my favourite cast, we only got a Glimpse of shane lori and carls escape, never got a backstory on T-dog or jaqui, Dale andrea and amy’s backstory would’ve been fun to see also..

I remember the service station episode where the little girl was holding the teddy bear. Now either she had some residual memory of 'her' bear and how to carry it, or she had such a grip holding it when she was killed and reanimated that 'she' never knew what it was and let it go afterwoods. Reminds me of another zombie movie where the zombie leader carried a gun all this time, and towards the end it figured out how to use it.

I always thought the camera focus alot on certain zombies, like the Purple Jacket zombie, bicycle girl, and yes the Tank Walker. I can actually see in the filming style what Frank had in mind. Most writers and directors have a hard time comming up with any believable way of having the military fail. The best they can come up with is something like: no one ever finds out about headshots, or even worse: one base is surrounded, the fences go down because there are ten thousand zombies without the military comming into action yet, the base is overrun and there are no other soldiers anywhere in the world...
