To try to answer some of your questions. 1. They're not brothers and they weren't friends in high school. They met after twenty one pilots was already a band. Josh joined when the previous drummer & bassist quit. 2. The first concert was their first show outside of Ohio. I would recommend Guns For Hands or Migraine next :)
TøP live always uses backing tracks… kinda necessary for them as a two-piece band lol. In this video, the audio for first half (from the earlier concerts) is off the album recording, but the last big concert audio is live.
Funny you mentioned basketball videos. Tyler was quite an awesome basketball player. He got a scholarship to college because of if ,but dropped out to pursue his music career
Tyler and Josh were not friends in high school, but both grew up in Columbus, OH - they met in their early 20's....twenty one pilots actually existed before Josh joined, it was Tyler and two other guys and they actually released twenty one pilots first album in 2009 - the other two guys ended up quitting and moving on with their lives and Josh joined Tyler around 2011 and they have been the band ever since the video in this is all real so that's why the video quality continues to get better over the years and as they have the budget for better video the last portion of this is live, no longer the recorded version but Tyler sounds exactly the same so it's hard to tell unless you're listening for it some next songs to look at: Migraine Lane Boy Trees (Live from Fox Theater) - this will give you a good look at their live shows and this is the song they have always played last at every show
About to go see them for the fourth time. They are incredible live!!! It's like a family reunion with people you have never met. I love that everything sounds so different. Most importantly, they have given me hope dealing with depression and anxiety ❤

love this song, think it represents their style of music really well and shows what great performers they are, whatever the size of the crowd. they played it at some of the smaller shows in 2021 for the first time in years and tyler joked with the crowd about how he messed up some of the words in the rap, not suprising with how fast it goes! i love how they're wearing a skeleton hoodie and gorilla suit at the beginnning. they bought those to capture the audiences attention and so they'd be remembered but josh discovered the gorilla suit was really hot so switched to a hoodie pretty quickly and they've worn the skeleton hoodies at their shows ever since, their fans are called the 'Skeleton Clique' or clickies for short.

The next album coming on May 17th, called "I am Clancy", is gonna be the last album of this storyline and therefore very lore-focused. I would suggest you to listen to some main hits and great songs outside of the lore (for example: Migraine, Lane Boy, Trees-Live at Fox Theater or Neon Gravestones) and, if you're interested in understanding what's gonna happen after May 17th, to enter the amazing lore rabbit hole before then. To get into the lore I suggest watching the video called "I am clancy" that TØP officially uploaded about a month ago. They uploaded this video, in order to confirm all the lore-assumptions that fans made in the last several years, as well as to explain to newer fans what the story is about (in a muuuuch more compact form). And then ofc listening to the lore-focused, story developing songs--> Heavydirtysoul, Jumpsuit, Nico and the Niners, Levitate, Saturday and The Outside (in that order). The song Morph might not be part of the storyline, but has also lore references and is a great one!! Overcompensate is the most recent part of the story. Have fun! This is a pre-made comment below, and I hope it’s useful: Okay, I have a different take that goes beyond the official “The Story” playlist. Go ahead and actually start with I Am Clancy because it’s gonna give you some insight into what hints or motifs to look for in other videos. Most people are going to tell you the lore starts with heavydirtysoul. It does not, even Tyler says it doesn’t. For example: “Goner” was written when Tyler was 17, the video was released in 2012. BUT it is also the final song on the blurryface album (2015), and heavydirtysoul starts playing right at the end of the 2012 video… heavydirtysoul is the first song on blurryface, because *it’s all a cycle.* In I Am Clancy, he emphasizes the word “vessel” which is also their 2013 album title. Album art on Spotify and such was changed to have red tape, including Vessel. So again, it didn’t start with heavydirtysoul. The problem becomes that so much only becomes apparent much later. Such as Tyler’s literal blurred face in “Holding On to You” and the beginning of the lore is in those lyrics. I believe that there is also tie-ins with other Regional at Best album stuff… but legal record label bullshit has that album “discontinued.” There’s definitely lyrics in some of the songs that were never re-released that make me 🤔 Here’s my opinion on the watch order: () = non-essential but still contain nods to lore; ⭐️ is probably the most important ones people overlook.
