The hype in Berlin is my favorite

All of the Twenty One Pilots Sessions are so worth the time to watch and react to. There's TOPMUTEMATH sessions, Brooklyn storyteller performance, UG studio sessions, Live Room sessions, Tyler singing Cant falling in love by Elvis, all of the sleeper series vids on the TOP's website are really cool. These guys are so much more just the music thats on the records. As far as this reaction, its hard to pic one as a favorite, they are both awesome in their respective ways. They are both so drastically different.

I might be reading too much into stuff but I always feel like so many of these videos really express how much of a support Josh is to Tyler. Like in The Hype video, Josh is always there already waiting wherever Tyler goes. In Chlorine, Tyler is trying to satisfy his creative desires with Josh doing so much like driving Tyler around, pushing the tank uphill or pouring the bottles of chlorine for him. Hell, the entire Trench Trilogy is all about Josh (and others) trying to save and protect Tyler, and then you have Heavydirtysoul - the precursor to those - where Josh is putting himself in harm's way right in the path of Blurryface taking control of Tyler's life. Like I said, maybe I'm just overthinking things but it's an interesting coincidence regardless.

Yes their friendship seems so special. And they are so silly with eachother. I think you'd enjoy their 'behind the scenes' of their music videos. They're really interesting videos and you get to see their friendship and silliness.

for the actual music video, when everything goes back to normal at the end, i think that signified going back to their roots and not believing in their own hype - i would imagine the meaning behind this song is how they blew up during Blurryface, then this song came on Trench - you'll notice throughout the video the crowds keep getting bigger and the people in the crowd and Tyler and Josh keep wearing more and more plaid (kind of like everyone is buying into their style or whatever) - then at the end, tyler and josh take off all the plaid and go back to their original clothes as the house comes back together the Berlin session is amazing, it's elite talent that only the top 1% of artists can pull off - eventually i'd also recommend checking out the Brooklyn Sessions - in Brooklyn, Tyler does something similar with remaking his songs, but he does it in front of a live audience - you haven't reacted to all those songs yet that he remakes, so it may be something down the road Also your reaction to Tyler's jump- he was a really good athlete - he turned down an opportunity to play college basketball to pursue music if you also want to watch like highlights of Tyler and Josh from interviews/behind the scenes/etc - i'd recommend their funny moments video - you could react to it if you want (or just watch on your own) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f10lcX-8f1U.html

What I love is that Tyler can remix his songs but it doesn’t ever take away from the other. Every version is equally awesome. He is extremely talented & dedicated. I can’t pick which I like better, depends on mood at the time Jenna is adorable & they have the most beautiful relationship. I was at this Concert in Berlin and it was suuuuuuch a great show, Tyler was super hyped (haha) and it was the day he brought Jenna on stage to announce the pregnancy and it was so sweet, josh had his hair dyed Purple to (I think he revealed the gender) 😂

MIDI = Musical Instrument Digital Interface. So if you have midi, you can easily hook up your instrument to a PC, laptop, etc. I enjoy the Berlin version, it's so happy and somehow hopeful. The woman is Tyler's wife Jenna and she was pregnant at the time.

The start of the music video - there’s a screen on his chest. A throw back to one of their songs ‘Screen’ (worth checking out) and all the way through the video there are small things relating to their journey. Great reaction as always, hope you continue your journey through tøp 💛

My favorite song version is Berlin, such a groovy sound, and oh his smooth voice! I equally like both videos- official was very creative they are so big on symbolism and easter eggs...and the Berlin video was so interesting to see him behind the scenes (and i was amused by 2 things #1 he literally pulls out his studio stuff out of his LITTLE BACKPACK! i was like 'huh'! #2 he says ok we gotta do a 'show' but we'll just come back to finish. And then you see the HUGE Lollapalooza show omg..and then he actually comes back la-di-da-ho-hum ok let's finish no big deal! I was like 'huh'!

Him: oh! Pokemon! Me: yeah sure why not? XD

Honestly, I can't stop playing the Berlin version, I literally love it so much. And that's not to take away from the original, because it's an absolute bop as well.

berlin is my favorite of the two! you need to check out the mutemath sessions, which is songs off of blurryface, and the location sessions he does off of trench. i think you’d enjoy, and appreciate them too. tyler is just crazy talented in all that he does, and so is josh 🖤

The "door" in his chest is mentioned in one of their first albums "Vessel" in the song "Screen" where he says "There's a screen on my chest" and I think that is a metaphor for saying that he is transparent with the people closest to him, like he can't hide any feelings to them.

Wow, super enjoyable that you reacted back to back. The first version was initially my favorite. I like in the vid how they do throwbacks to old videos. The Capri sun was like Stressed Out, his chest opening up is like his song that says “there’s a screen on my chest”, the growing crowd is reminiscent of Ode To Sleep, the little Ned character in the crowd takes you back to Chlorine, etc. I agree that it seems like he’s saying that if they just remember the basics...why they started, where they’re from...etc...then everything will be okay. It can all come crashing down around them but they’ll be ok. They start out wearing just plain clothes and end up having more and more crazy plaid. By the end, they revert to the basic white tee. I didn’t care for the Berlin version as much when I first saw it. It reminded me of like a Justin Bieber vibe. But now I’m in love. I like anything that shows Tyler’s genius. There’s a reason why he wrote Chlorine about his struggles with writing and making music. It tests him to his boundaries because he works so hard at perfecting it. Agggh. I just adore this man’s genius.

My absolutely favorite video of all. It even brings tears to my eyes every time that i watch the part where everything is getting fixed and back to its place on its own. Combined with the instrumental, it brings me a lot of hope, and a clear message that everything will fall into place on its own always. I love that video, BUT the location sessions song itself is more catchy.

Like you said both are great, but the Berlin version is 🔥 it's so good. Tyler's a genius and I can't get enough of his dance moves.

Every time where it’s in black and white and the lights come up the way it happens with the beat give me goosebumps

The song goes through the stages of the band. With the crashing through the roof being the hiatus, and the yellow tape meaning the music will always make everything ok.

The meaning of official song and official video- i think commenter Eric Stockman explained it perfectly. The only thing i would add is about the video- 4 easter eggs/symbols #1 notice his chest opens up at the beginning? I think they're referring to his 'Screen' song ("there's a screen on my chest"). #2 notice the capri suns? That's referring to their "Stressed Out" video (which don't think you've reacted to, and the official video is fun and rich in symbolism/metaphor). #3 notice at each 'stage' they're wearing more and more plaid? Hype is building up. BUT after falling (funny that he's falling and a plaid sneaker is floating past him lol), no more plaid and 'back to basics' they survived falling from hype. (i think they truly are humble.) #4 like you noticed, after falling the yellow- symbolic of Trench. EDIT- also there's Ned in the audience on the lawn (they should sell Ned merch!)

I love the Berlin sessions version, mostly because he remixed it so much it could even be considered more original than a remix and it came together so smoothly

I love both of course so it would be hard to choose but I do groove a bit more to the Berlin one. There's another live video of Tyler remixing the song "Cut My Lip" that is super cool. He builds up the song little by little in front of the audience....it is awesome!!!

Cherrylane covered what MIDI stands for, but before computer processors and storage got fast enough and large enough to handle audio files like plain old PCM .wav and of course compressed formats like .mp3, you just had .mid, it is literally just a tiny file containing a sequence list of what notes to play on what instruments, when to play them, what level and duration to play them, effectively digital sheet music. The traditional connectors for the actual instruments were a 15 pin D-sub on the computer's sound card that was also used as a joystick port for gaming. The MIDI cable was D-sub to a pair of DIN plugs. There are many good videos covering all of this here on RU-vid, they explain it better and cover turning the .mid back into actual sound via wavetable or FM synthesis, Etc. Wavetable is literally a chip containing tiny samples of audio recordings of actual instruments.

If anyone ever doubts Tyler is a musical genius, show them the Hype session. Also, I feel like he turned the Hype from a normal song on the album (which is an AMAZING song) to an anthem in the Berlin session

The Hype is also on the Trench album so the yellow tape is likely a reference as you thought.

The yellow represents hope and happiness, and the jump suit he wears serves kind if like a shared from his bad thoughts, that's why is jumpsuit he yells "jumpsuit jumpsuit cover me" and the new logo with two line as | | - // instead if |-/ is also for protection :))

Omg I'm so excited with this reaction!! Theres A LOT to it (the original song & video / the remake sound and it's video / the comparison) but you did it!! And watching this was such a thrill- to see you react when you realize the stark difference between the two. You reacted the same way i did when i heard the difference.
