Tyler rarely writes ‘love’ songs but when he does write lyrics pertaining to love I adore the simplicity and understatedness of them. I believe the ‘corner’ part may also relate to how highly he holds Jenna in his mind. That he will stay in the corner and not outshine her when it’s her turn to be in the limelight. I’m not sure which one but there’s an interview where he describes her not as a tug boat that save his drowning ship but a cruise liner that comes along to take him on. It’s a very sweet description of how highly he holds her in his life.

Live they did it on the b stage, so he's sitting at the piano. It's more like the reconstructed version. He also adds in a line for the audience, rhyming with the city or state we're in. The first time I saw them it was "for you, I know, I'd sing you this song on the reg. For you, I know, I'd sing you this song here in Winnipeg." The 2nd time was "For you, I know, I'd sing you this song til I hit my quota. For you, I know, I'd sing you this song here in Minnesota." He later apologized for rhyming our state with quota, and said Jenna suggested Mini soda 🤣
