"Don't believe the hype" TOP was really mainstream for a minute, and they knew it would fade eventually and they couldn't let the hype go to their heads. So they started playing smaller shows again (instead huge sold out stadiums) and going back to their roots to humble themselves. That's why when they go to different rooms, they are going through different eras of TOP and there are more people each time.
The Capri Sun is also significant because they were drinking those in the video for 'Stressed Out', which is the song that REALLY blew them up in fame. They're telling themselves to stay grounded in who you've always been, not letting the fame and stress affect your mental state, family & friend relationships, etc.
If you want to hear a completely different version of this song, you should really do the Berlin sessions. It is absolutely beautiful and shows a little of the creative process and Tyler's personality.
The Hype Berlin would be a good choice for the next one. And please, don't apologize for pausing and talking. That means you're really committed and enjoy this band |-/
I'll second this. We want to hear your thoughts. Stop as often as you need, but rewind 5 seconds to pick up the groove and not miss an important lyric.
I just love your reactions so much. It's like reliving listening to these songs for the first time again and it's such a joy. Also don't worry, I always needed help in understanding the meaning of their songs and all the lore, it's a lot 😅
I think this is Tyler talking to a younger version of himself - telling himself basically don't worry about everything else just do what you gotta do You definitely need to do The Hype Berlin Session right after this one - he remakes the song
The hype is cool but my favorite version is ( twenty one pilots - Løcatiøn Sessiøns: The Hype (Berlin) ) I find myself listening to that version often ..great reaction |-/
Yoo thanks for reacting to The Hype, not a lot of people do it, I think its underrated tbh. Would love to see you react to Migraine or Redecorate (another underrated song)!!
@@DRichOfficialI know it’s so crazy! I still don’t get it! The Hype Berlin Session!✌️😊 and I believe the song is about staying true to yourself. Stay humble and don’t believe the hype…At least don’t let it go to your head.
Definitely check out The hype Berlin session next, it sound so different but it's really good. And you get to see a bit of behind the scene of how Tyler works and stuff, it's great 🤙
@@DRichOfficial damn that sucks lol, I know other RU-vidrs have managed to pull it off, maybe edit how they did it… crazy how much RU-vid doesn’t seem to want new channels on their own platform to be successful 🤦♂️ (just like twitter/X)
@@DRichOfficialMaybe if you stop and add more commentary (original content). Don't be afraid to stop. Twenty One Pilots fans are here to hear what you have to say. Also, for video reactions, the Trench Trilogy order is Jumpsuit, Nico and the Niners, then Levitate.
I lovelovelove this song so much, but it's TOP, so of course it's perfection! According to Genius, Tyler wrote this song as being from the perspective of his younger self, talking to his current self. His younger self is terrified of the future ("You know you're a terrible sight"), but he still has faith that he'll make it in the end, as long as he has people he loves with him, and doesn't let what people say about him change who he is...
the fact this song and the mv are about not wanting to be what the industry wants for them to be as a band and musicians and that they at the end are back to their og clothes (not dressing trendy, dressing as THEM) while they are playing for the huge crowd in the confort of their home is so amazing. This is why (besides the lore obviously) the ppl that love them love them,: bc they are not like "the hype". this and kitchen sink are my favourite top songs
Love your reaction!1 Totally agree with what you said... Anyway, don't worry about understand what lyrics mean... It's about what they mean to YOU!! 👽💀💖🎶
It shows in their music that they are even more than just best friends. They are soulmates. If you should ever have some time, watch some interviews, pressconferences or interviews with them. You will learn a lot about them. And they are extremely funny as well.
I always interpreted the lyrics "and you know you're a terrible sight, but you'll be just fine" to be Tyler talking to his younger self, like the rest of the song, referencing that he probably just felt like an unattractive person when he was younger like a lot of kids do. great reaction!
The words speak plain english. He/they know their kind will forever stand together regardless of right or wrong! For whatever reason. The hype is the cap the play on the lessor ethnicity the choose to build their pedestals on. Its something you clearly lost in the matrix dawg
🔥🔥🔥🤟🤟🤟🔥🔥🔥 Did you do the Berlin Sessions Version of this yet? You definitely should check it out. It may accidentally blow your mind though. He completely reimagined this track in less than a day. And IMO it may even be better reimagined...
