This is the BEST Twiggy makeup tutorial I've seen on RU-vid! The eye makeup and lashes are perfect but I guess it also helps that she looks a lot like Twiggy to begin with :)
So much fun to have been a teen when Twiggy was the big fashion thing. I wore my eye makeup like her and I even wore my skirts/dresses as short as hers too...lol!
+golderiweri hehehe oh thank you! Apparently I have a good phone voice too - the lady at my work ran up to me and said how melodious my voice is! I was like oh ok haha thanks :P x
OMGosh, your tutorial is so brilliantly simple & easy to recreate! You took the complication out & made it user friendly! I work at a beauty retailer & I've turned all my co-workers on to your tutorial. The look is amazing! Thank you for posting! :-)
Absolutely, I emPHATically agree. As a makeup artist myself, I often find when dealing with black (especially liquid liner), that I end up feeling like I'm working with a sharpie on white paper: NO room for mistakes. But the way you go about it makes it MUCH less nerve-wracking. You have that lovely, calming voice, too. You're like the Bob Ross of makeup (look him up if you're unfamiliar, he's fabulous), but with a decidedly more attractive face! Your canvas is your face, though, so I suppose that comparison is hardly fair X] Anyway-- thank you for sharing your creativity and skills with all of us!
wow, somebody who actually did the look exactly right!!!!! I keep seeing these vids where they do a MU look from 60's that is NOT the look at all, you actually did it, its wonderful, I wish THIS would come back.
oh my god. this is amazing. i love twiggy and i was literally dying to know how to make her makeup, so thank you so much for this. Also, you're so pretty!! all the love. x
Kudos to you!! You were so patient in showing how to do the makeup!! You really got the technique down. Thank you for sharing even down to the detail of which brush and/ or brand. Beautiful girl!!
its my favorite iggy tutorial as well, and i like your voice, it's not annoying like alot of them on youtube videos wich make me want to mute the video haha
This should have more views... I feel like is one of the few twiggy tutorials that is really nice explained and done. (at least it helped me a lot, thank you!)
Many people leave out the inner line, very good! You also used the proper product, they used liquid liner, which is a dry pat of eyeliner, similar to eyeshadow, but much drier and not powdery. You had to wet it (usually with spit!) as they didn't have eyeliner pencils in those days. Some people would use an eyebrow pencil, but because they were very dry, we used to light them with a lighter to make them soft. The line you did on top is perfect, the era was geometric with stark angles. Very good work! BTW they used to add freckles too!! Bronzer did not exist in those days, very doubtful they used that.
Love your in-depth comment!! Yeah I don't think it did exist but from what I could see Twiggy used a more peach tone blush? and I didn't have one at the time so I used what I had. Great tips though! I didn't even think about adding freckles...I might have to do an updated video hehe xoxo
A Brush With Colour Aw thanks, and thank you for the video. I was 13 in 1967 so I devoured everything Twiggy. She may have used a bit of blush, but I'm sure they used the blush to contour the face as blush was used but not always. It was more about eyes, eyes, eyes, and pale lips. I actually had a frosted light blue Yardley lipstick! My Mom used to tell me I looked creepy, lol.
hahaha a frosted blue lipstick, it sounds amazing! Yes I have read that they used blush as more of a contour. Isn't the history of makeup so fascinating!!
Gahh ur so detailed oriented. I love everything in this vid. Swinging sixties indeed :) Make more retro make over please, mam'.. perhaps frm 20s-80s celebs?
+colored brain HI! Sorry I am only just seeing your comment now - RU-vid doesn't notify me of comments anymore :( anyway! I definitely will be making more retro videos in the future! Keep an eye out xx
What I would have loved to have seen is a before and after, before with no makeup at all, and after you finished all your makeup, including both eyes. Have you ever seen the Twiggy Eyes eye makeup Yardley had out? It was terrific!
I haven't seen it! I will search for it and check it out :) I don't have any foundation on at the beginning when I'm doing the eye makeup but yeah i didn't include any before and after pics on this video. Thanks for the feedback :)
Just what I was looking for! And you've got the EXACT same eye color as me, amazing. The same greenish blue with brown-yellowy spots.. My brother calls them "gray-green-blue"..
Wow that's great, but yes I agree some cool 60's music in background could have been greater! You sure do look like Twiggy! =O I've already subscribed to your channel, these videos are fantastic thanks! ;)
Samurai Sakura I can use music that is copyright free which is what I have done for a few of my other videos. But yes have to be careful what songs I choose :/ x
I love this so much!!! you are also so pretty omg. I have a question though: what is the brush you use to draw on the lashes? That's the hardest part for me.
+sarah c. I can't remember haha - i think i got it from one of those royalty free music download sites! Maybe try google the lyrics and see if you can find it? If I find it on my computer I will let you know! xx
i really can't describe them they're just quite big and kind of round and the crease is kind of far back, i don't know if that makes sense? like the crease is kind of under my brow somehow haha
I LOVE THIS LOOK, I actually have tried it before but 1. I have hooded eyes and 2. My eyelids tend to go pretty oily through the day. That makes me so sad.
Thanks for the tutorial! I absolutely love mod makeup and was thinking about when I could have an excuse to wear it and then I thought... Halloween! I think it would be so cool to dress up as Twiggy! :)
