Hi thatdamnmackem, I'm glad you liked the quilled effect, I use about 1/3 bleach to 2/3 warm water which works well..I do one feather at a time as it's easier to keep an eye on it.. All the very best Davie

HiMicah weeks, You'll find that when you look at many Jungle Cock capes they have a few natural split feathers and the more they are split the cheaper the cape will be so if you are happy like I would be as I do use them like in this pattern I'll buy it. But if I do have to split a feather then I will use my scissor to cut down to the black area of the eye then I'll pull it lightly to encourage the feather to split further down if I need it..I'm glad you enjoy the videos I do enjoy making them when I get a chance... Hi Jamie Pringle, No all resins are the same even the old epoxy resin left a tacky surface, so what I do it to coat it with a fine coat of varnish as this will keep the resin clear and tack free.. All the very best Davie

Hi Mike, I believe the diameter of the copper wire is 0.125mm but I'm not a hundred percent sure, a small or extra small utc or uni wire would be fine..I'm glad you liked the pattern... All the very best Davie

Hi Mike, I always dye the peacock first and then bleach them as bleaching the peacock eyes can make them very brittle, if you were to dye them after bleaching them you would end up with a lot of dry and broken fibres... All the very best Davie

Hi Andrew, The biggest problem is my lack of knowledge when it comes to editing footage and especially the software that I use. I film and edit everything as I've had to learn this all by myself so I only know the very basics when it comes to this and I just get by. I do hope to in the future update all or most of my videos and as well hopefully find a way to make things run much smoother...Thankyou for your feedback and kind words... All the very best Davie

No worries bro! My buddy and I are building a drift boat and it took me a few days just to get the first video condensed enough to be watchable. The easiest way to do it is to watch the video once through at normal speed. Then again but this time set markers where the important parts start and stop. Then go through again and use time remapping (or whatever your software calls it) to speed up the filler by 1000 to 2000 percent. Then watch it all the way through again, speed up the unimportant scenes as necessary until you get it to under 3 or 4 minutes. Think about it like you were an experienced fly tyer watching someone else's video. What do you NEED to see to tie the fly? What at what parts would you stop paying attention or fast forward through? I'd suggest trying this with a video and seeing what the end result is. Again, really loving your patterns, can't wait to see you take it to the next level. And like I said as well, check out Fly Fishing in the Ozarks tying videos. They will give you a good idea of what a well trimmed video looks like. Take her easy and tight lines my man!
