Nice looking fly. I wonder if it would be a good bass fly if I sized it up a bit. Looks like it would be. Need to use buck tail for the wing I think. All the best and thanks for sharing. Sean

Thanks Sean, I'm sure it would be very good for bass.

These bonefish patterns sure are sweet. Do we have bones around Okinawa? The more I tie the basic saltwater streamers, the more I enjoy using the materials and appreciate the different sets of challenges the salt presents.Nice work!

Apparently they are there, but not in numbers. There are a lot of other species down there that will eat these though Hawaii is the closest bonefishing.

Martyn: Does the calf tail fluoresce under UV light as some of this pattern which I bought fluoresce; whereas I use Kip tail for the chartreuse part of the wing and it does not fluoresce under a UV torch. Is this important?

Hiya, I don't think calf tail has any natural fluorescence, it just depends on the dye. Personally I like a spot of fluorescence on my flies where possible, but I think in this pattern the translucence is the most important factor. All the best Martyn

Thanks Martyn; is Kip Tail the same as calf tail; or if I use Kip tail does it matter much?

kip tail is really antelope, but calf tail was originally the sub. to be honest I don't think it makes much difference
