I know right! I couldn’t help laughing. As a queer person representation matteres. And I’m glad he understands that. It shouldn’t matter if the story is queer or straight. It’s a heartbreaking story no matter what.

It isn’t a heartbreaking song, just like it isn’t a gay song. The video, however, is both. The song is just a beautiful love song.

People who hear this song without watching the video never say a word about it sounding gay. It’s just a love song. Tyler has a gay cousin who said he never sees himself represented in country music videos so he did this for him. Close your eyes and listen to the song.

It's not a gay song. It's a beautifully written and performed love song. The video is a beautifully written and performed gay themed story line with a tip to the struggles of the Appalachian folk, featuring the song. Hope that doesn't sound snarky, just my take.

The “song” seems gay??? No…the video depicts a gay couple but the song is not gay. I agree that we don’t need to ANY couple kiss so as long as it’s consistent. Song is amazing! Other than the “ 6:41 gay song” comment, I love your reaction.
