@@rickyyang2195funny it was the opposite for me. The clear ones come with my treatment but if I want the Hawley I have to pay extra. I opted for the hawley cuz I don’t like how the clear ones look lol I won’t be getting my braces off any time soon though but they asked me which retainers I wanted before I even got the braces on
For me, they gave me like a paper and colors to choose from and I already knew it's for a hawley retainer. The next day, they gave me the clear retainers so I was a bit confused but didn't question it since I trust them. During rescheduling my other appt cause I was sick, apparently my clear retainers I got is the temporary ones. So I might be actually getting the hawley. I think they will say that we have to pay for the clear ones cause the retention phase for our payment is over so.
i have the permanent one on my front teeth and the clear ones, the clear ones suck u have to clean them everytime u take them out and then put them back in
First i used the glued one but my upper glued retainers always breaks because my lower jaw hut the upper glued retainers and it always broke thats why now for my upper jaw im using that removable one (not the transperant one the durable one that lasts 15 years) and for my lower jaw its the glues one only.
I didnt get an option they just did it and now im scared because i still have a gap between one of my teeth and can push air out of it but i dont think it can move now
I just got my braces off two days ago and they didn’t even warn me that they were slapping on a permanent retainer. They just did it and I had to ask after what it was when they said they were finished. I literally hate it. It feels so bulky and you can feel the ridges between each tooth and my tongue can’t sit how it wants to. It’s so hard not to play with it with your tongue, and now the tip of my tongue feels kinda sore from the rubbing. It’s literally been two days and I wanna ask about them drilling it off or something and I get a removable clear retainer for sleeping. I already have one of those for my top teeth so I don’t see why I didn’t get it for my bottom teeth.
@@tiachang1626 That is awful! They should have asked, and I’m so sorry that happened to you. :( I wouldn’t want one for several reasons but also because I don’t like metal in my mouth. I hope they can remove it! 🙏🏻
So we have to wear them for life time that's sucks I don't want to use them for my entire life i want to live normally can we stop using retainers after 1 year ??
@@user-ez2rr9ix1cthe rest of your life. Your teeth will shift if you stop using them. You need to wear retainers for the rest of your life don’t stop using them
@@SB-od9slThe only major downside is clear retainers are not as durable compared to their Hawley counterpart. Hawley can last a few years to over a decade as clear retainers, last for a few years.
Fire the rest of your life or your teeth will shift. I am suppose to wear mine for 3 months then only at night and I keep forgetting and my teeth sure do move only after a few hours
