What about the girlfriend who does your laundry, pays your rent, cooks your meals, and thinks your the greatest guitar player ever. Oh wait that's your mom.
I've been playing/performing/recording a long time. I've seen at least three marriages break up because of the 'band thing'. Two of them, including my musical partner of twenty years were given ultimatums-- "It's me or the band!". Serious stuff. On the other side is my beautiful wife of 31 years. She comes to every gig she can. Buys me things like guitars, amps, pedals on special occasions. She supports my passion ... and I support hers unconditionally. My wife's comment: "Why would I ever take away something you love to do?" Yep ... I am a lucky man.
Absolutely as he isn't mature enough for a mutually respectful relationship. You cannot have total freedom with a joint savings account in a relationship. Clear as day, you need to use your own money for your hobbies and passions.
One time my ( bipolar ) girlfriend got really fed up with my guitar playing, so she cut off all the strings with a pair of scissors, then THREW my Gibson Les Paul and Fender Stratocaster outside into the January snow, no kidding! I had to go outside to fetch them. That was 30 years ago, and that was my first and last relationship with a girl.
“The supportive one” is usually also the one who’s sleeping with your neighbor whenever you go on tour lmfao Edit: to everyone replying here making sure I’m alright, yes, I’m fine. My girl did break up with me a couple months back (June of 2020, if future people are reading this), but this comment is completely unrelated and was made months before that happened. I’m fine, gents. Thank you all for looking out tho. Means a lot to be honest. Y’all are some bros for looking out.
My wife actually has no idea how many guitars I own (current count 21). My den has a locked closet she can't get in ;) Every time a new one comes, I just tell her "oh, yeah I traded one in for this..."
@@baradalamasa you have to be really dramatic with the reveal too. "Honey ive done something horrible and i hope you can forgive me...i didnt mean to...but..." Lol
Me: Hey I learned that song you liked... Girlfriend: Cool! Me: Start checking tuning Girlfriend: I've heard that before...walks out of the room I got the sarcastic one
@@trigr5106 yeah it is. The more you tell your self its not that easy the more women are gonna just pass on you. They don't want someone who isn't even willing to try. If your gay the same thing applies. No one wants to be with a pushover
My wife is the kind that understands I am a talented musician, but she doesn’t really listen to music and apologizes for not being “the groupie I deserve.” I love her so much, she’s pretty awesome.
Fuck that pitiful sigh!! Ur guitar will never let u down. Itll never bang ur brother! Itll never lie to u! Itll never give u hell about what u spend ur time doin! NOW GO FORTH...AND ROOOOOOCK!!!
Mine is the supportive one, so enthousiastic about my playing and always pushing me further, she bought me a new guitar for my birthday this summer ! I'm a lucky one. Also thank for the great content ! I'd like to see more of your wife, she's so funny and talented. Lot of love from France to both of you :D
You forgot the most common one. The one that gets with you because you are in a band. Then she wants you out of the band because that's what all the girls like. Then she leaves you because you are no longer in a band.
Me: hey babe, I got to go play a gig in a hour, so I’m leaving. Wife: Okay, have fun! I’m grateful to have a ‘former’ musician as a wife! Totally understands it.
The one that’s really supportive and wants to learn but when you try and teach her/him they go on a rant about how stupid guitar and and absolutely hates it for about 10 mins then wants to try again and then this repeats
I've got the kind of wife who says she loves it when play...but only if I'm playing for just her, or entertaining our usually drunk nonmusical friends at campfire "scream alongs". When I'm in a band (especially when I'm getting regular gigs), she works diligently to sabatoge it, usually with the "this band is more important than me isn't it. ..it's them or me" approach. Little does she know just how spot on she is during those moments! ;-)
In my experience, a girl finds out you play guitar and thinks “oh that’s so cool!”. The same girl becomes your girlfriend and suddenly expects you to never play your guitar because she needs your 24/7 attention.
My last girl whom I was seeing for 3 months dumped me over me not coming over to her house one time cuz I wanted to go home after work (11pm) to practice. I’m not even in a band! Where do I find a supportive one?!
If my girlfriend wants to hear me play too much I ask for space to focus on new things I’m working on. But if she gives me too much space and doesn’t react to my new stuff, I get sad. Musicians are so much fun!
I firmly believe that you guys are the most lovable couple out here. Also, I love how Bethany is a supporting figure to the channel instead of just making it akward like it happens in a lot of other channels. Anyways, Love you guys, keep up the good work
@@plasmakitten4261 ah yeah, and it's also written about virginia not west virginia as he was flying over he thought it was WV and wrote it based on that
Back in 1978, two brothers in Spain had a band, and one of their girlfriends wanted to sing. They reluctantly let her do some backup voices. Eventually she became the lead singer and now they are known as MECANO, the biggest pop band in Spain history. (So big that Hans Zimmer played with them. Yes, THAT Hans Zimmer)
1:32 "I'm sorry I can't really hear you, am I on speaker?" "lol nah this phone is actually bigger than my head so my voice doesn't reach the mic properly"
