My official take? She is a mean ship. The command seat is a minor gripe, but this ship is vicious with the right build. What makes me nervous is why is STO being so generous? This is a VERY BIG GIFT to the players. Either way, Thank you to STO. She is a very fun ship to play. Y'all gonna like this.
Spent the whole evening kitting her out and shaking her down (_way_ more time than I intended). She's a mean one alright; punches real hard and takes no sh!t. A battlecruiser through and through.
I like this boat. I wanted to make a change from the Lexington to a smaller boat and I think I will use this one. What do you think would be a good change?
Romulan Plasma Firehose. I'm gonna have to redo that build sometime. With the right Doffs and boff abilities you're just spewing out tons of torpedoes. And the best thing about it? You're faster than the torps so by the time they start hitting you're in the splash zone. I think I once saw the counter tick up to 20 something plasma burn debuffs before dying.
I just unlocked this ship yesterday. I *REALLY LIKE* the looks, the boff layout... The trait is meh, and i doubt ill be using its console anymore. I've tried it a few times and the energy web moves so frak'n *slooooooow* any targete im tring to hit with it are dead ling before the net hits them. I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue with yhe console ability.
Saw the console doing work in the Badlands Battlezone, so it has some uses, but personally I don't like it. The trait is interesting. It appears to clone your torpedo, so if it has an odd proc like the Enterprise torpedo, it applies it twice. I want to test it with Maelstroms. Angel on the Bow is a trait it seems to work with.
The console can be good on large stationary targets like cubes where it's slow speed is an advantage, but the issue I'm having with it is it seems to just fly off in a random direction sometimes instead of where it's aimed... 😆
I really like this ship! I like the way it looks, and although temporal isn't my favorite specialization, the bof seating is still flexible enough to make the ship fun to use. I have the Fek'hiri (sorry if the spelling is wrong) vanity shield which gives her red nacelles, deflector dish, and a smoky/burnt appearance that I dig. Haven't seen another the same color ship as mine. I also like quad cannons and have that on my build as well.
This ship is fun to shoot stuff with while power sliding straight through their formation, and finally getting to play around with a full temporal ship (I didn't have any) is going to be interesting. Outside the Isomags and (replaceable) Doffs, this is quite a budget friendly setup (a lot of stuff my casual FTP characters have in abundance). Even the Z-store stuff is pretty budget friendly, 100% Off t6 tokens are a thing after all: so glad I saved the unrestricted one from the Anniversary giveaway instead of immediately using it... ended up getting the Ahwahnee that way. Speaking of, Flagship Staffing is useful on this ship if you need cooldown help (also yet more firing cycle haste...). The Pahvan Omni is the best example of why the current setup for Omni Beams is terrible... so many fun weapons and set bonuses just unusable (for beam ships) because it is so much better than them for every play style.
I like this ship looks and feels nice 🤷♂️ gets me through the dailies. Feel like this is them saying everyone can have a really good ship and play on & they have aload of phaser beam arrays that are fine too
I've been REALLY enjoying this ship and I see my self playing with it quite a lot, even over my hard earn, long ground premium ships!! I just need to get 2x more X-Upgrades for it, lol
If only i didn't already have so many other (temporal) ships which are just as good or better than this one. Hydra and Achilles are better CSV platforms, Atlantis and Premonition are better temporal DEWSCI platforms. But for a F2P player, this ship is a jackpot, no doubt.
5:32 two things, I was using dark matter torpedo and changed it to the Ba,ul set ( antiproton ) much better dps for me at lest , The other is what’s the best thing when a main story mission just doesn’t spawn a item/ npc to continue the story - had it happened twice now ( delta quadrant 3 rd mission ( and just last night on discovery secrets mission ) I tried restarting but nothing , ( can’t continue ) ( this is console though so can’t even contact the GMs about it ….
Yeah, I have a video going over my skill tree. It's one of my older videos, but my skill tree hasn't changed since posting it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pdHiTwwyvkw.htmlsi=eMe7fy8aFYXmgVOt
So im bery new to the game. Have no idea what im doing. However my thought was to turn this baby into a torpedo simply for the piggy back launchers. Just makes sense right? Anyway, can someone explain to me what build would be better. I want to go out there and wreck stuff.
When it comes to survivability, I generally just add ablative plating as a console and call it done. Is that a viable solution or is it not really good enough/there are better one slot changes?
How are the Phasers that came with the event? I remembered to open them with a low level toon so they are are easier to upgrade to ultra-rare using the phoenix upgrades. Also i see you upgraded to 2X, is it really worth it to upgrade to 2x? Do you feel it is essential to do that, or is just one upgrade ok? I am also curious if the Phavan Console that really helps with CSV?
I should've mentioned the T6X2 upgrade. I always do it on a ship I intend to fly more recreationally (thats how you know I like it), but it is not necessary for keeping up in most content. If you're wanting to do Elite Randoms, I'd probably upgrade, but if you're just doing Advanced or lower, don't worry about it. I'd only consider upgrading a ship I like it enough to play it fairly regularly. Though the Typhoon would be a good option for upgrading because those upgrades apply on your whole account, and since the Typhoon is an event reward, every character you use the ship on would have it upgraded as well. As for the phasers, they're just normal Pulse Phasers. They have a good proc (better than most actually), but like most other procs, it still only has a 2.5% chance to trigger so it won't make much difference.
I havent used a parser in years but the ship trait from this looks perfect for my torp boat.... Just gotta grind out the ec for that varuvian explosives trait or however you spell it.
Stu, ard located up in the Carolinas? Did you have a lot of damage from Helene? I'm here in Orlando and it looks like the middle of Florida is about to get rocked.
I’m in the Upstate of SC. We lost power for a few days. We still don’t have our landline internet back yet. So, I haven’t been able to run this event since Helene.
In one of the earlier videos on this channel (about good choices for bundle sales) it was mentioned, that the Legendary Galaxy Dreadnaught aged well and still holds up. Can anyone point me to a up to date budget friendly build for it? I just love the Yamato skin and would love to fly it. I'd prefer phaser beams.
On the topic of firing mode extension space traits... Has anyone ever done the math on this? It's just one entire space trait slot for four seconds of firing.. Factoring in that half of any tfo is going to the next location, I'd say that your lucky to use two seconds of that.
It's a battlecruiser, so for the most part it has tanking stats, but does get a bit of crit severity as well, so it's good for a mix of dps or mid-range tanking. The starship trait, as i said in the video, has been doing very poorly.
what can I build by not having 90% of things you do? hmm it seems to me that all of this "suggestions" are only for people who have everything in game, am I right or am I right?
I work out of town on the regular.. That is when the amazing event items drop. Now that I am playing again.. Garbage console, ground breaking world record garbage trait and mediocre platform/ship.. If you have the legendary inquiry or vaadwaur dreadnaught.. What do you do with this other than admiralty after you float another out of dry dock?
Has anybody posted info on Piggy Back Launchers yet? It seems to trigger the Enterprise set additional times, but that is passive observation, not hard data.
He wrong a gold weapon does much more than a none weapon gold. Console and such you don't really need to worry as much they offer much less of a boots at gold vs none gold
Why can't they just make the specializations seats universal, I wouldn't mind but the 3 you get through missions are ENG command and both are SCI intel I believe.
Thanks for the video, however I believe you were right to be harsh. I get it as its free other than time. Still for end game users this doesnt touch the World Razer not even a close contest. It looks nice and is good for new toons and those just starting but when comparing to World Razer its just no choice which ship to pick for superior firepower or a better torp boat. Again its free I get that but for end users why use this other than you like the look of the ship that would be the Only reason I see.
Yeah, ships like the World Razer are going to out class the Typhoon, but this is still a free ship that is more than capable of getting you through endgame content that they're giving out for free. Yeah, the Command seat isn't going to get much use, but you can do some nice stuff with a full Temporal ship. A ship like World Razer is only going to appeal to those who are willing to spend lockbox ships money on the game, or wait out the campaign, but either way you're only going to get one of them, Typhoon is a ship that will be very appealing to F2P players, or even those who only spend a little bit of money here and there. Also thank you for the super thanks!
@@Stu1701 Absolutely I love your content man. I just really agree with your first impressions that it's ok as a free event ship but I liked your critical thinking initially I don't think you were too hard but again I get it because it's free it's not gonna be lockbox quality.
Gold gear is stupid super easy to get just from doing the red alert event. The average player should be swimming in enough ultimate tech upgrades to max out a full build 3 times over in epic gear if they've playing this game the past few years.
I can not tell you just how much I hate when someone uses heisenberg in a tfo. Please, for the love of god, do not use it, or take yourself far away from me when you do. There's nothing worse than dpsing down a dreadnought from a flanking position, then some A-hole running that comes around and telepirts it so it's facing you. I don't care that it's an uncon proc. You will survive without it.
I'm that A-hole 😂 And here's why I use it; "The Heisenberg Amplifier ability" applies AoE confuse to targeted Foe and their allies in a 3km area, teleporting them to a random location 1km from their current position. **Very large or stationary foes** won't be affected by teleport, but everyone will receive Base skill: 16.1sec 3km aoe confuse +1 entropy Control Amplification: -25 control resist -25 exotic resist Extend all anomalies by 2 sec. Self: 350% flight speed 350% turn rate +15 def 10% cool on science 10% cycle haste 20% exotic dmg ...pretty nasty temporal ensign skill on a 15 sec cd I say
