similar to Japan, not a lot of sidewalks, but the difference I think is that in Japan, on-street parking is illegal and there's lots more street sweepers. I only see sidewalks in Japan's downtown areas or CBDs, same in South Korea cities, once you get out of the downtown proper, you don't see sidewalks anymore, but in South Korea, the enforcement of street parking is confusing, sometimes they tow it, sometimes no one bothers to remove vehicles that are obstructing the tiny roads shared by both pedestrians and vehicles, so you will have a tougher time maneuvering your way around tight South Korean alleys.

3:50 I'm Americano, and my asawa is from Minglanilla, near Cebu City. Lent 6K USD to her need-a-job 35year old nephew for internet cafe. He did start it, but it fueled his shabu, and it went to dust. Near complete loss. Not clear what fully happened, but he disappeared for a year with dealers hanging around his family home looking for him. Two others gambling while there's little rice. Two more, womanizing , with 1 moving in with the woman whiile his wife & multiple kids struggle. We put a grand-niece through HS and half through nursing college ..... and she got pregnant and quit. Wife & I are 36 years married, but the extended family is often tiresome; not the poverty but the poverty of mind..... which extends the cash poverty. Sorry to be morose. (The pregnant nurse never-to-be was in Nov.2022 and I'm still shaking my head.)

the pattern often is, one works day and night while the rest sit around & do next to nothing. they have never had more than p5000 in their pocket at one time in their life so if they suddenly find a big chunk of cash it will probably slip quickly through their fingers.

I know many families with similar tales, including my own. My husband now works on the principle never loan money to family, and he is now aware most family considers a loan as a gift. Now when family approach with a business idea, he asks for a detailed business plan, profit and loss, and a cash flow forecast, that normally the end of it.

It is the people who lived there named it sarcastically.

Pinoys once called the NPA as 'Nice People Around'. Humor.

Maam it is interesting to see where my wife lives, she will never vlog. Life is this, we must accept this is normal to them. I could not live in such fume filled environment, i feel for the animals, many abandoned there.

WOW---the streets are the cleanest I have ever seen them! Very tidy and neat indeed, no trash at all. Mandaue is almost a new city compared to the littered place it used to be.
