Typology in the 5 Sacrifices of Leviticus: How to find Jesus in the OT pt 18 

Possibly the best teaching I have ever heard on the topic of Leviticus. Nothing "boring" about it. Pure excellence.

I may not appear in this video, but it's still top notch.

The holy spirit was with me while listening to this as I mowed the yard. I heard how the sin offering was for sin committed "unknowingly." It makes what Jesus said on the cross make so much sense. "Forgive them father, for they know not what they do." Jesus is the only sin sacrifice that could cover the things I've done, and graft me into God's children.

"what am I supposed to do with this?!" exactly what I thought when reading this scripture after waking in the morning with the word Leviticus repeating over and over in my mind. So I read it and now I'm here. New edit New to Christ and the bible, Leviticus was quite a difficult read, but it has incredibly beautiful meaning. Thank you for explaining this scripture

It is incredible to imagine a mind so great as to write Leviticus with Jesus as the object. I cannot believe that I have missed something so blazingly obvious

If you really think about it, unless you're a vegetarian, we make burnt sacrifices every time we make dinner. I used to think the sacrificial system was kinda bloody too, but with much reading and study I was able to put it in perspective. The WORD truly does have the power to transform the mind, thanks be to GOD our Saviour for HIS sacrifice!!! I've always found it interesting that the grain offering basically gives you the recipe for hardtack, which sustained many armies for many years, and was probably what Gimli referred to derogatorily as "cram". Instead he found it was "lembas" the LOTR equivalent of the consecrated host.

There I was strugggggggeling through Leviticus and I stumbled accross this teaching. This brings Leviticus to life in showing the sacrifices and elements as types of Christ along with His characteristics and attributes. A personal study of Leviticus is warranted and would be richly rewarding I cN imagine. Praise God for this young man.

Wonderful! We think Leviticus is boring when we are ignorant about the sacrifices detailed there and why they were necessary. I am always thankful for faithful preachers/teachers like Mike Winger! I am always so sad when I think of how these topics are so neglected - at least they have been in my35 yrs of church experience. We even have pastors today that deny or reinterpret this. Ignorance is deadly.

Great message and I did learned a lot. Thank the Lord for this. One point regarding sin hopefully some clarity, sin and transgressions. My understanding of sin is trying our best to achieve the target but failing to hit bullseye. Transgressions is knowingly committing act against God’s law, knowing Lords will but choose something else. I believe God does offer forgiveness for both.

I am a Hebraic/Messianic believer in J.C./Yeshua & Yaweh has been putting this on my mind to study this & connect it to Yeshua.

I love Leviticus. It really helped me when I read it alongside Hebrews. Wow, somehow I'd missed the point that the person making the offering had to kill the animal. I am so glad I was not born into this time & system. I am the most squeamish person on earth.

I am a 72 year old missionary returned to the States and teaching Leviticus in Sunday School. I like going to RU-vid and looking up good teachers to help me with my lessons. On Leviticus you have been the best I have found. I would love your thoughts on our sin nature. I used to think that it was only our selfishness, self-centeredness, and laziness. I've come to realize that our sin that makes us worthy of death is our rebellion and even treason against God in our belief that we are the source of right and wrong. That is the sin nature that we inherited from Adam and Eve. God gave us the Law, but even in trying to do good and trying to interpret that law, we "unintentionally" come up with something God did not intend because we go to ourselves as the source of right and wrong instead of God.
