@Tiara G same! Girl you are not alone. I used to look up to her as a child and I used to love her Tyra show and ANTM but that’s because I was too young to see what was actually being portrayed
The situation with kayla cycle 15 where they coerced her to kiss a male model, knowing she was a lesbian and a SA victim. Is debatably one of the worse moments in ANTM history.
Oh yes, THAT. I remember it all too well. It is a perfect example of abuse on the show and shows that Mr. Jay's rebranded image of "nice guy" who was just doing Tyra's bidding is plain wrong. Kayla told him about it. In tears. She seemed a step away from a panic attack and who can blame her. And what did Mr. Jay do? Tell Kayla to go ahead with the challenge! THAT was his doing. Even if Tyra told him to do it, it was his decision. He could have said no. He should have said no. More, he looks weirdly thrilled as if he knows the ratings will be through the roof. Nor was this an isolated example. The one with the black model forced to interact with the racist model? Mr. Jay was there. The other one in which a black model was literally harassed- on the actual shot!- while Mr. Jay watched and she even spoke up, so he cannot claim he didn't notice it? He was LAUGHING.
yes that was so bad, i think every contestant should sue tyra and all production for psychological abuse, i felt so bad for her, she was crying and they never felt sympathy for her to stop, couldn't you just give her a female model or one of the other girls could make that part. I still have chills when i remember the time somebody was trying to touch me in the bus i can't imagine a rape
According to this show, the modeling industry means you have no rights to your body, you have no rights to your boundaries, and if you have boundaries you’re not willing to cross for the sake of a picture, you will not be a model. When actual models are allowed to say no to things they are not okay with or make them uncomfortable. Completely take away their consent.
Actually a lot of models has came out over the years and talked about how they had said no to a lot of things. Remember that girl from season one that got cut off for refusing to do a certain type of photoshoot
A lot of the model who have done interviews like with Oliver twist have said multiple the model world / industry didn't care with they were on the show and none of the Porfirio on the show didn't help them at all
Yes. 100% as a real model who does commercial shoots, I get told before every single shot, “if you’re not comfortable with this shot, please tell me; we’re ok with it - we’ll find another shot for you. Promise” and they deliver; I’ve said no to a certain workout and they found a better one for me. They always do.
@@ivetawelborn right!? I've never felt uncomfortable on set because everyone I've ever worked with has been super professional, this whole episode shows exactly what DOESN'T happen on an actual modelling set.
“There’s no photo because you don’t deserve a photo.” Tyra really is the definitive mean girl who pretends to be nice and fabulous. I suddenly doubt Naomi Campbell was truly the problem in their dynamic.
that’s the same creative director that kept calling a model w vitiligo his “little panda” and then he got offended when she tried to explain to him that she doesn’t like being called that. i really don’t know what they think the screaming is gonna do, but it just causes more chaos for the models.
Oh I saw that..Winnie Harlow.. damn she had such a bad edit .. shes famous now models alot..( He called her a cow .. yeah that was bad because it was the exact same word she was bullied with as a kid ..that pissed me off too)
@@claud6649 funny enough they’ve seemingly squashed their beef i met them both during an event at Sports Illustrated they talked about this ( i model as well)
She didn’t even have a problem with it personally, like she wasn’t personally offended by it and understood that he meant no harm, she simply explained to him that she didn’t want to send the message to people watching that it’s ok to call someone with vitiligo a panda and he got mad and called her a porcupine and I just wanted to punch him lol that scene makes my skin crawl
Romeo was disqualified for trying to start a fight with another contestant and then headbutting him, bruising the other model. Frankly, the show 1000% enabled it. The crew just sat there filming and he wasn't even disqualified until the next day where they had all of them together before a shoot. Then they claimed they had a "zero tolerance policy for violence", but still let the other contestants handle the fight and Romeo stayed there the entire night. The show is just a scheme for bullying and drama, the only reason they brought other gendered contestants on was because viewings were low and they needed some more extreme drama. If they truly wanted a safe environment, they wouldn't even allow such a high amount of alcohol on the set. Romeo was insanely drunk and said he blacked out later. Not an excuse, but like I said it was obviously enabled by the show.
I get that producers probably incited the incident, but Romeo is responsible for his own behavior. He seemed like a loose cannon anyway. Would he be making excuses for himself if he had ended up sexually assaulting somebody while black out drunk? No. Same thing goes for getting violent. No excuses
@@Catglittercrafts I'm not making excuses, I'm saying that the show helped put others in harms way by enabling it. There's a reason a lot of sets don't include alcohol anymore. They have to hire more people to watch it, handle licensing for it, etc. And to put that much where there's people who can't legally drink (depending on the country) for a reality tv show is extremely risky. He made his bed and he deserved what he got, but they enabled it for views and then acted shocked when it had those consequences.
This is pornographic. Nothing about this is genuine, fashionable, or meaningful whatsoever. The concept is lame, the models are naive archetypes that are clearly being manipulated by the perverse will of the producers and supervisorial cast members (the creative director, Tyra, etc.) for ratings and cheap thrills.
that is exactly it. And this goes for so many shoots. They're either designed to scare contestants or to embarrass them or both. I'd feel so violated if that were me.
Totally agree, it was pretty disgusting and why did they have to kiss one another and the men in white underwear being carried by women( like Jessica says- giving some grownup toddler weird vibes)… the whole show was a mess, but omg this episode was problematic…
I would love a new modeling competition show that actually helped models get booked, and stayed true about the career aspect of modeling without needing to create drama.
The British version with Naomi Campbell is great. They book them, advise them and it's way more friendly and the drama is minimal for a reality show :)
I had no idea this is what ANTM became. It is disgusting...like a weird dating/modeling/hazing show, where you get roasted by social media. The fact Tyra made it seem like models can't be in committed relationships in reality, that they should be suspicious and she wanted them to experience this under her mentorship??????WHAT?????,?Giving Lennox a 1 for not forcing fake sexual acting in a shoot and in future will only get 5 shots? The anxiety must have been crazy.
I didn't "become" bad, it was horrible from the very start. The first cycle was intensely homophobic, treating the lesbian contestant horribly and forcing her along with an atheist contestant to pray with a bunch of nutter contestants.
@@thechronicreative Camille being ridiculed for going to the doctor and being upset when her FACE SWELLED UP, like wtf, as she said "my health comes first"
@@FabiolaMacabre as a child I never recognised how awful it was. But yep it really was always awful. I didn't realise it just continued like that into the more modern episodes as I never watched them. I'm def used to series being handed over to other presenters and the vibe changing with the new team, like in project runway and lots of British TV, I haven't seen full episodes of these modern ones, but it seems this just kept going as is and getting just as bad. I've now watched more commentary from Contestants on RU-vid and some say they had a good experience and others that they had it worse😥
If I recall, Romeo’s disqualification was because he got drunk and physically attacked Adam. It was a safety/security violation, as well as a liability issue.
I got curious about where these contestants are now and found out that Mirijana was murdered in 2015. That’s genuinely heartbreaking. She should have had her whole life ahead of her.
Serbian model Mirjana Puhar was fatally shot on Feb. 24, 2015, by two alleged robbers after the 19-year-old opened the door to her boyfriend's Charlotte, North Carolina, apartment.
As a 21-year-old, it’s making me nauseous to see so many of the models with 18-19 next to their names. They were still basically kids getting thrown into not just this photo shoot, but this weird competitive dating-show-y environment 🙁
i still remember the exact words my agent used when telling me, a 17yo, that i needed to take an inch off both my thighs and waist if i ever wanted to do new york runway
@@Ianisatool the difference between 18-19 and a minor is a document that says they're adults but they're not when it comes to maturity and development. They can't even drink alcohol yet. These people were too young to be in that environment.
I remember trying to fill out an application to be on the show and the way the questions were I could tell it had nothing to do with modeling and never submitted it. After watching this I'm so glad I never took part in such a train wreck. It's horrible how they treat their models!
I always thought this seasons with the guys was going to be more vain but this one end up being pretty friendly she was the introverted one and still she was a strong person but even though we don't see it a lot Will and Matthew cared for her.
Sad thing is - she's still doing it - hence - not being on America's Got Talent... She tried the gaslighting of someone with a disability and the show got sued... That's why she's now on Dancing with the Stars...
@@ValyTraveler She also recently got called out for making fun of Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee for having an upset stomach and not being able to perform on DWTS. It's so gross because clearly she hasn't changed, she bullies people and used insecurities against them.
They sent Romeo home because of a fight or something he did in the house. Also, I watched this season and the Will-Matt dynamic was really messy. Will was openly gay and other male models made homophobic comments about it (Denzel said that he didn't want Will to win because he wanted a "real man" winning or something similar). And while this was happening they were insinuating or directly asking Matt if he was gay or bi even though he said he was straight, because he was close with Will and they kissed once (just like friends). This whole season was a telenovela, I felt so bad for the models.
one time a girl found out her friend died on the way to a photo shoot and at the shoot they told her she had to pose in a cemetery in a coffin or else she’d be eliminated 😟
Honestly, I used to freaking LOVE Tyra and ANTM!! But you’re opening my eyes to see it way differently… I now see the bullying, the set-up for failure… I cannot believe I was so blinded all these years!! Wow!! Their behavior has been disgusting and terrible. No way this should have gone on as long as it did.
I feel the same way. I was a teenager watching this show and I also didn't know anything about the modeling industry or even the photography industry. and so I can't speak for everyone else but I feel like most of us don't know anything about the industry and Tyra is such a well respected and successful model we just believed what she said. you know why wouldn't we trust her and her judgment just like all of these models did. that's why she was able to get away with it for so long. we were all rooting for you Tyra
We lived through a truly toxic time when we were young, disguised as “empowerment”. It was also, perversely, an era of purity balls and rings. The show captures the toxic misogyny of that era.
Tyra clearly wanted Lenox to not win this cycle, she was a hardcore fan of Keith, and while Lenox constantly took amazing photos, Keith was pretty average and boring. My theory is; Tyra needed to screw Lenox so she wouldn't win
Keith was very attractive but I'm surprised he won considering how many not so good photos he had and Yu Tsai yelling at him at every shoot. Will and Lenox had the best portfolios.
And you know, no one asks Mirijana how she feels seeing “her man” with another woman… because it’s just the women that should be possessed and controlled?
I think it's because the guy had the "good for TV" reaction: He was more visibly and vocally bothered. The moment was created specifically to get at him. They seemed to also be trying to pit him against the other guy. I know a sexism allegation is not "giving them credit" but I don't believe for a second that ANTM WOULDN'T ask a woman that same question if they believed she'd give them a big reaction.
“We’re less forgiving when it comes to models” this. I’ve noticed this a lot from people and i dunno why. Comfort should be something everyone deserves to have.
I remember watching this show as kid and being like "omg these models don't know how to work! the judges are complaining so they better work harder" and man... this show was simply toxic to all these models and viewrs
This whole season with the homophobia was stupid to me. Look at the designers, the photographers, make up artists. It's ran by individuals within the LGBTQIA community. Becoming a model and not even respecting someone for being who they are was just nauseating. I will always say this. Tyra has been the biggest narcissist/gaslighter on television EVER!! Cried around for years painting Naomi Campbell as a bad guy to the public. That was the biggest red flag everyone missed.
@@snackwhore6127 I think she has but thinks her apology was enough. She's making Dancing with the Stars into her own run way show. I believe since many fans of the show have petitioned for her removal, it's happening.
I sincerely can’t get over how relentlessly these ‘judges’ body shame and criticize the way contestants carry themselves in their personal life. Shocking that they are considered an authority on anything tbh
Thank you! Making vulgar comments about the way that one young man was walking not once but twice, why??? That's being nasty for no reason. At most give him constructive advice like "try being more relaxed" or something. There is no reason for those comments in a "professional" setting.
As someone that does commercial modelling for a living, my eyes were wide as saucers watching this mess. Like, I've never been on a set that's been this unprofessional ever. I feel so bad for how these models were treated, it's so gross.
it's actually harder to get into the modelling industry once you've been on ANTM because people in the industry think its trash it makes me laugh at Tyra but cry for the naive kids that have been on it and not been able to get work because of it, so many have turned to drugs
The context for Romeo getting disqualified is he got super drunk and went after Adam. He kept saying "hit me" and stuff, Adam kept saying no because he wasn't risking getting kicked off the show, and eventually Romeo head-butted him. This was against the no tolerence policy for physical fights and he was automatically disqualified. It's honestly one of the better things production has done, Romeo was creating a really bad environment for the other contestants and probably shouldn't have been cast in the first place. Lenox said recently that before this shoot he told her he was going to break her legs.
@@unclesquirrelstache7431 Yes and it weirded me out. Not the witchcraft thing but the fact he was using it in a negative way and wishing bad on people.
@@michelledawn7446 Y'know at the time I just found that cringy and hateful, but now I recognise that could've been actually disrespectful to different religious groups. Both Christians who would oppose it, and Wiccans who don't want their beliefes viewed as evil. My friend's girlfriend's a Wiccan, and I can't imagine she'd like people to think Romeo represents them.
What if a model isn't comfortable for doing this? In ANTM they get eliminated (Robin from S1) or they get judged for not wanting to show skin (Shannon) or get blamed for not wanting to be close to someone in this manner (Kenyah, Jaeda, Kayla).
They made Kayla is season 15 pose with and kiss a man despite her telling them she's a lesbian and has a massive fear of men after being r*p*d or molested as a child, I can't remember the specifics but she was assaulted by a man and Mr Jay basically said she should toughen up and not let what happened to her rule her and tried to spin it as if it was gonna be healing for her or some bs. She still wasn't anywhere near comfortable but she'd got the message loud and clear, do it or go home. Disgusting
@A H 6:06 watch the video. Again, the response to your statement is in the video; timestamp 6:06. Again, since I feel you're the type that need to be told things multiple times, 6:06. Da fuq? Your ignorance is astounding
@A H Shannon actually had/has a long and successful modeling career. And career she made without posing nude or even in underwear. She's also very happily married to a very successful male model who also shares her beliefs. So while religion isn't my thing, girl still managed to stay true to herself and have a career.
Yup, it was at a time when we used to laugh at people on reality show. remember when the judges on American Idol used to crack jokes and laugh at poor mental patients auditioning for the show? back then we thought it was hilarious.
Tyra is not just relentless. She's diabolical. She's preying on people's weaknesses, turning people against each other, asking them if she's succeeding in ruining their relationships. If that doesn't remind you of Satan I don't know what will.
Well she had to cry her eyes out when Gianni Versace dropped her at the last moment. She needed yes teller when she invited Naomi to tell her what her problem with her was. Don't make her bigger than she is. She's nothing more than an immature narcissist. Crumbling down at ever criticism.
My theory was always that they knew it was going to be a non elimination, because Romeo was removed from the show, so why not give a crazy score for shock value when it doesn't really matter who's in the bottom with everyone being safe.
I never watched these later seasons and am surprised they got even more bizarre. The forced sexual acts are disturbing even by entertainment industry standards. When I was working we had the option to voluntarily tell our service or casting if we had a partner we were willing to be physically intimate with on camera. Only one time in over 10 years working consistently did I witness someone showing up to set not knowing they had been booked to kiss someone. They didn't want to kiss a stranger. Production apologized profusely for the miscommunication (even though I know for a fact it wasn't on their end) and asked if they would be willing to hug instead or prefer to be switched out for someone less featured for the same pay.
@@anxious_and_avoidant not exactly sure what you're asking. I have to be very vague about specific incidents and names for legal reasons, but I mostly worked in prime-time, union commercials, promotional campaigns, TV shows, and film.
I agree. Watching ANTM as a kid I must have assumed that models had no say in their jobs, or that they had to everything a job told them to do. And perhaps in Tyra's time models felt like they had to say yes to everything...but wooo she's perpetuating that cycle
Jessica, it gets so much worse. You should look up the episode with Chantelle, a beautiful model with vitiligo. The " creative director " creates an incredibly insulting situation. He calls her panda, and even after she asks him to stop he continues to make the situation even worse but trying to make her feel bad about rejecting the so-called nickname. Meanwhile, she made it very clear that in her past she was bullied and panda was one of the mean nicknames people used to bully her with. This show is so freaking toxic.
@@dizzydaydreamwishes Yes!!! Thank you!!! I remember after her season aired I went into NYC and in Herald Square near Macy's there was a HUGE poster (I forget which store) and it was Winnie! I knew she would make it outsde of ANTM.
Wow they have stooped to a new low. They are basically forcing people to get intimate. You are exactly right about production just trying to cause drama by putting together people they want to put together. And the guy who is possibly bisexual just coincidentally ends up with a man? This show is atrocious
When you get older you realize that all these reality shows are basically soap operas marketed as "reality". You can see all these plot setups, like a member "disrespecting" the hosts and then getting eliminated or being at a very high risk of being out. I feel that now reality TV in general and the sentiments that it stands for (dont't give up, you'll have to do something very uncomfortable etc etc) is just so outdated. Doesn't help that ANTM in particular features exclusively people in their early 20s, they're basically kids and it's not a healthy environment for them at all
So I watched this season on Netflix, the only season of ANTM that I’ve ever watched. To me the most disgusting part of this season is how Mirjana was murdered in a home invasion after filming, and there was no mention of it at the beginning of the next season. No “in memory of” or “dedicated to” or anything. I realize that Tyra and other made statements on social media, but no mention on the actual show? Unless they just didn’t include it on Netflix…but the subsequent cycle was dedicated in memory of another person who worked on the show. Couldn’t they at the very least dedicate it to both of the people recently lost?
She was murdered after the season aired, last episode aired December 2014. She died end of February 2015, and cycle 22 premiered 6 months later, so there was PLENTY of time to add an in memory of statement. Tyra is the worst.
It's hard to watch knowing what happened to Mirjana, but I'm glad to be able to witness her talent again. While also calling out the bs about reality tv with the benefit of hindsight
Oh child. If this is the only season you have ever seen, what a hot mess. I remember seeing the photo shoots in high quality and back when fans of reality TV forum was a thing. This show was quite big.
Honestly, the concept of that commercial was absolute garbage, the execution even worse, the models did what they could with it. Really, this whole show is a joke. There's zero professionalism in this. There's no constructive criticism or encouragement and positivity. Making fun of people is not gonna get them anywhere. And i guess that's the point of the whole show. I don't know why i used to enjoy it back in the day...
@@BleachBrownie so… not an actual product but an excuse to basically humiliate young beautiful people under the guise of “modeling”? Lol ANTM walked so Squid Games could run.
I’m glad you pointed out comfort- there are times when you have to do things maybe you don’t like for your job, but to do something you’re truly not comfortable with is messed up.
I remember this episode so clearly - the only reason Tyra gave her a one (an undeserved one) is because Lenox was consistently at the top and unshakeably so. I feel like this whole shoot was designed to be her "fall from grace" and Tyra literally had no other option but to give her a one. Lenox is one of my faves and I feel so sorry she was put in front of Tyra's bulldozer of a gaslighting, gatekeeping, and girlbossisng.
More like knowing she could scare her, be mean to her to punish her then tell her shes staying anyways. Basically more control as the model probably thinks she got lucky or that she shouldn't stand up for herself otherwise they will quick her out for real.
What's also really sad is one of the models from this cycle, Mirijana, was murdered shortly after the season aired. Her house was robbed and she was shot dead along with her roomates. She was 19..
If I remember the episode correctly, Romeo was physically violent with another model. Like actually violent and trying to get him to fight back and he was immediately disqualified.
I always wondered why they attributed being a model to basically being owned by whoever books you. Cause throwback to Bianca standing up for herself outside of that bathtub and all the judges looking at her like she's crazy for it but she was right! This stuff is WEIRD miss Tyra girl 🥴
Lenox was by far one of my favorite contestants in this show. She was kind, REALLY talented and hardworking. And after all of this none sense and Tyra punishing her by giving her only FIVE frames she NAILED that photo shoot . Please react to that 🙏🏽 I’ve always believed Lenox deserves a redemption
Jessica, your theory about production trying to create drama by splitting up the couples to make them jealous is 100% fact. They forced drama all the time and they would manipulate the contestants against each other or one specific girl.
also lenox talked about this on tiktok now the sound is trending and she said that she was barely 19 like of course she’s gonna be uncomfortable AND on top of that, she’s gay and was forced to do the challenge with someone she didn’t get along with AT ALL like of course she’s gonna do poorly
If u wanna see more of Yu Tsai being awful, idk if you’ve watched the episode but in this same season he keeps calling Winnie Harlow (the model with vitiligo) his “little panda” and when she asks him not to, he freaks out on her
And of course the show depicted her as being in the wrong and difficult to work with, even after she explained why it hurt her (which she shouldn’t have had to), Tyra told her that it was a term of endearment and she should basically get over it. I remember that situation being a challenge to watch.
Yup Tsai in (I think) Asians Next Model was super off putting. When models saw him, they always had to say his name several times.... Like he's some sort of God... Bad vibes from him
Jessica, I came across your videos by chance. You are hilarious and yet really sensitive & insightful. I’m going through a rough patch and your videos really cheer me up. Your style is exactly my cup of tea! C
Tyra is horrible. She’s so mean and cruel, she doesn’t care about anyone. Sometimes she forgets that she was a model and she should be a role model and help who is struggling. But that will never happen.
They did Kari dirty. She had originally dark curly chestnut hair and looked absolutely perfect like that! Then they dyed her hair yellow blonde and her eyebrows too which made her look weird and took away her beauty. No one looks good with yellow hair and eyebrows! Such stunning girl, and they managed to find "makeover" to ruin her look.
Yes, worst of all is that if Tyra wanted that look for her, she should have gave her a wig, it could've looked way better than trying to get platinum blond in one session. Tyra knows how complicated the bleaching process can be for a dark haired girl. This wasnt the 90's when wigs looked super cheap, but Tyra valued shock value more than the well being of "her girls"
What's really really sad is that Mirjiana was shot dead the year after this aired. She was was only 19 and full of potential when she was struck down so violently. Makes me very sad.
Poor Lenox... she was literally one of the youngest and the sweetest girl in the house being told to pair up with the meanest one who legit got kicked out for punching someone...
ANTM or ‘the sexual assault is ok if it’s for our show’ like modelling is a profession involving people who will have boundaries and basic rights. I’m so ashamed that I used to watch this when I was younger 🤢
Not sure if you’ve reviewed Cycle 21, episode 13 where Yu Tsai calls a contestant with vitiligo a “panda” despite being repeatedly asked to stop. He then gaslights her discomfort with the nickname. Totally messed up. Would love to hear your thoughts on that one. Such a toxic group of people in control of this show.
The "Guys vs. Girls" seasons had a really weird tendency to single out one of the male models for being queer and turn their sexuality into their main "character" trait. C20 had Corey (who if I'm not mistaken now identifies as nonbinary), C21 had Will, and C22 wasn't quite so blatant but there was still some weird storylines going on between Devin and Bella (she transitioned post-show). Romeo from this season is bi and Lennox is gay (which was probably a factor in this photoshoot) but none of that was ever mentioned because Will's storyline was that he was being singled out for being gay.
It looks like Romeo was disqualified for assaulting Adam. Also this season and a few others they posted all the photoshoots and fans could votes while the season was still happening. That's where the fan feedback is coming from.
Yeah, the video clip is on RU-vid for anyone who wants to see it themselves. Be careful because it's rough to watch, but basically Romeo gets blackout drunk and head-butts Adam while trying to goad him into a fight.
I remember the voting posts, most comments were from people supporting their favorite, they really made an effort in searching the worst comments for the show
What makes this even worse is, if I remember correctly, Lenox had just lost her father a few weeks prior to the competition. So to go on the show and be treated like this? Awful.
I remember watching ANTM when I was in my teens in the early 00's and really wanting to be like the contestants and being in awe. Looking at this as a wman in her mid 30's it's disgusting how models are treated. It's inhumane.
I used to vote on the pictures before the episodes aired. They had like the social media vote at the end of each judging. Every week they'd open the polls, so you could see the pictures and videos of that week, and afterwards it was, just waiting for the episode to air.
You simply can't force two people to have chemistry. They either have it or they don't, and it's absolutely not either person's fault. That show is trash.
One of the reasons had to be them not wanting another girl to win the male and female season. I also swear any girl that makes Tyra like she is competing against beauty or model wise she has to tear down. Some of the makeovers girls would look so much prettier than how they look like when Tyra is done with them and her excuse being this makes you look more like a model.
The women/men seasons just made me uncomfortable every minute. It more than jumped shark and became Big Brother rather than anything to do with any modeling. They did this, petit cycle, but NEVER had a plus size cycle??
I love your channel! You’re saying all the things I want to say bc I have been a fan of Antm from the first cycle all the way to 24. I saw the photo shoots as “creative” sometimes. But there were a lot of controversial moments throughout its history. I didn’t like when Yu tsai took creative director. He’s been cast as rude and either that’s just who he is or production screwed him over. Tyra DIDNT hire him for NO REASON. 😒
The creative director Yu Tsai is straight-up abusive. He called Chantelle “panda” because she has a skin condition. And when she stood up for herself and said she didn’t want to be called that, he kept yelling. Compared to Yu Tsai, Mr Jay looks like Mother Theresa.
Every video i watch from you I am always hoping the contestants see it because you are building them up so nicely and I really think some of them need to hear what you say about them❤️ Your opinion is so much more worth than the judges ❤️
Watching this has blown my mind, NOW It makes so much sense. Matthew, Adam, they're reality stars. They're in Too Hot Too Handle, ex on the beach etc.. ANTM made reality stars. Not models. It really should have been called America's Next Top Reality-Star
The random people were *like * a focus group that they chose for the ‘fan vote’. They could see it beforehand. I’m not sure if they started this season with it, but for later seasons they calculated a fan vote+challenge+judge score and it could literally affect your score enough to be sent home. It was the stupidest thing ever
"Has anyone actually seen this commercial air?" is a great question, actually. I'd be interested to know how many of the things they shoot in this show actually go to print and how many really were just for the show.
It’s dumb because Tyra’s style of modeling is the old-school, oppressive, exploitative, “only make it if you’re naturally gifted” (like she was, of course) modeling and it’s died out because it kills people. If she can’t adjust her attitude that models aren’t mannequins then she’s not going to make it in the modeling business for much longer and probably get canceled or sued or something
I am pretty sure the modelling industry is exactly the same now as it was then. They just hid it better and do a few PR campaigns about being “healthy” and “supportive”.
@@Shrimpyyyyyyyy I'm sure it's still bad, but even just by watching Jessica's channel you can tell things have changed somewhat. She's a photographer who deals with models, so she knows what's normal and what's not and Tyra is constantly shocking her
I'm fine if tyra gets canceled. Though she kinda was a few months ago and she did an interview that just showed that she had absolutely no self awareness and is completely incapable of not only taking accountability, but also not seeing herself as some kind of savior and giving herself accolades.
