Hello and welcome to harnetty railways
Coming up
We have our very 1st visit to Tyseley locomotive works used to be The Birmingham Railway Museum for there annual summer open day.
We start around the turntable at Tyseley were we see the Tyseley fleet of steam locos.
Seeing the flagship of Tyseley 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe alongside 4965 Rood Ashton Hall with static exhibit jubilee 5593 Kolupor.
We see other locos present on site including Churnet Valley Railway based S160 6046 under repair. Small praire tank 4588 recently been sold to a private owner awaiting restoration before moving to Peak Rail.
Tyseley Pannier's 9600 and L94 aka 7752 were on shuttle duties during the time of my visit we have rides behind both the panniers on the demonstration line.
We visit the works were we see progress on some locomotives including Tyseley's other double chimney castle 7029 Clun Castle and Keithley & Worth Valley Based 45596 Bahamas.
Of course the main reason for me coming to Tyseley was for this. The Newly returned to traffic of 6201 Princess Elizabeth following completion of her recent mainline overhaul. This was my 1st sighting of Lizzie since her farewell tour at Chester in December 2012 working a Cathedrals Express from Slough.
We head off to the viewing area were we see the highlight of the weekend the cavalcade of 4965 Rood Ashton Hall, 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe and 6201 Princess Elizabeth running together on the demonstration line.
Our final sequences are around the turntables seeing the locos.
To sum up
It was absolutely brilliant my first visit to Tyseley would be 1 to remember for a long time and seeing gd old lizzie back in traffic now my sights are for when Lizzie has her test runs but time will tell what will happen.
Thanks for reading enjoy the film
