There's something about 90s HBO footage that just looks better to me. It looks really rich compared to the cold harshness of modern HD. I think there's such a thing as 'too clear' and we've passed that line now. Sitcoms are unwatchable these days. You can see the swirls on their face from the makeup artist's brush. Takes me right out of it. I'd take that golden/red 90's hue all day.

let's all remember something. Fury has been dropped 5 times since his first fight with Wilder. He is definitely hittable and he can go down. One of the times he was dropped before then was against a cruiserweight who moved up to heavyweight too. Not saying Usyk is going to win, and I know that Fury tends to fight to the level of his competition, but we must remember that this fight is by no means a foregone conclusion.

The Lewis and Holyfield situation was not resolved as Holyfield got stiffed in the rematch. First bout Lewis, second bout Holyfield and if judge's could judge properly we could have had a trilogy like with Bowe but I guess boxing got stiffed too.

Rummy, just ignore the belts. Fury is the lineal and Usyk is being given a chance to take it. If he doesn't, then Fury is still the lineal. All of the belts are bullshit at this point.

So many comments by people jumping on the Fury hate train. I think there is a good chance it COULD be a draw. None of these fighters is getting an easy win, and the idiots claiming Usyk will beat Fury easily are absolutely full of ish. If Usyk wins, it will be a very close decision. Fury seems to rise to the occasion, and when his opponent is poor, he seems to not even bother training, and performs poorly. But, when he has a real challenge, he always performs to his very best. Fury could win this, and I'm hoping he does, if for no other reason than to shut all of the haters up.

They don’t have to have a rematch. The IBF are well within their rights to strip, everyone’s been more than patient with Fury. They can’t hold up the careers of deserving challengers just because they want to line their pockets.

I feel it depends on which fury shows up. He’s shown to struggle with smaller guys (wallin/cunningham) but usyk is much sharper and a better overall boxer in comparison to those guys. Just hoping for a great fight‼️

I've always believed that the referee is of paramount importance in this contest. Fury will dance and jab using his reach but Usyk will cut the ring down getting close enough to land fast combinations, at which point Fury will grab him and use every 'professional' and questionable trick in the book to nulify Usyk's tactics. If the ref ignores this then Fury wins if he does his job properly then it favours Usyk. Well this is what Quasimodo reckoned the last time I spoke to him!

Usyk will win on points IMO. He is too quick, high workrate, exceptionally skilled and tough as teak. I also think Fury will be docked points for low blows.

Watch the second Lewis v Holyfield though. Clear Holyfield win. Judges too eager to right the wrongs of the previous fight and in doing so gave the wrong man the nod. Always thought Holyfield won that one.

Thoughts: - I don't know that much of your now massive and international audience, many under 45, never watched 'The Sopranos' the 'Quasimodo' line doesn't make sense to them. - I was convinced Lewis-Holyfield 1 and 2 actually brought a massive disinterest to the Heavyweights and boxing. People were tired of seeing Holyfield and nothing but Holyfield (and he was great but overexposure) and then the bout was surprisingly unappealing and then the draw and rematch nobody really wanted to see. and that wasn't exciting. somehow HW boxing became boring. - Rummy still had 'FDS' its like that Trump Derangement Syndrome but its the belief Fury is somehow the greatest champion and even if he loses it won't count and if he doesn't fight anyone then by default he's the greatest and if he sucks in a fight it doesn't count because actually he just wasn't trying and is way greater. and the meta-thought: - The grand public was NOT wishing for a 'Unification' because everyone fully accepted Lennox was THE heavyweight champion of the world. Then everyone fully accepted Klitschko was THE HW Champ... Nobody was calling in outrage for us to FINALLY settle the divide champions Wilder and AJ. No. nobody thought that. Everyone understood and accepted AJ was THE HW CHAMP of the World. Yes, we know that after 3 horrible fights Fury outlasted Wilder to get the renegade WBC belt, however, Suddenly I have to pretend Usyk isn't really THE hw champ and if only we can finally find out who is THE champ. no. Fair chance of a draw as there could be many rounds that are tough to score. But I can see a clear winner. It all depends what version of Fury turns up. If IBF pull their belt they won't be counting the saudi petro-dollars. Will be interesting to see where Hearn stands if that happens as he will want AJ to fight for any vacant belt.
