An excellent video. I couldn't work out how to set the OFFSET for my local repeater on my Retevis RT9000D because the directions in the ''User's Manual'' regarding that are totally wrong !! (Just a simple matter of pressing the ''P4'' button a number of times). Too easy ! Thanks Steven !
I spend hours trying to follow the directions in the manual and got nowhere. Found your video and now I can easily programmed my 220 in seconds. (N1NHT)
Great video on manually programming. I was wondering if there is there a way to manually program alpha names to the channel and view them vs. the frequency without having to use software? Thank you.
I bought it pre-programedNow I can't get my text back only frequency mode. This radio is a maual nightmare. I wish you would answer the other questions posted, because now we are left stranded high, and dry.
I have this radio in my jeep. (Of course i knew and still know nothing on radios). I found out i need a license for this. So today was day 2 of the course im taking. Ill write my test on the 14th. But reading the manual it mentioned it can work in the 400.000's (cant remember the exact frequencies). But when i run through my frequencies i only have 137 to 174. Is there a way to get something like 462.000 on it? Seems to be a common frequency guys use when offroading, making me go back to my baofeng hand held.
I cant work it out some have vox function some dont..all the same model number. I wanted a radio with vox function this one advertised it had VOX but i hasnt. anyone know a good UHF radio that does vox, other than a handheld model?
To me, it was easier to program than a baofeng. It could stand a better speaker, but that can be done using an external one. Scan speed was normal, receive sensitivity was normal. All in all, its definitely worth the money if all you need is basic 2m FM.
Thanks for the video. I'm looking at getting the 220 version of that radio. Are you Clay County Indiana by chance? I live in Montgomery County Indiana. 73 KA9WLU
My wife gave me one for Christmas and I finally had time this weekend to install it in my vehicle. I just got done setting up some 2M channels. Will this radio work in the 440 band? If so, how do you program those channels? Thanks,KG5IAO
this model is 2 meter only. Im not familiar with TYT enough to know whether they make a dual band radio, but you would need something dual band to use on both 2m and 440
I have the 9000D... I got stuck on setting the offset to -600. it is stuck on a preset of -625. How do I get my minus set to 600....I cannot figure out how to bring just the five down to 0. I can hear the repeater Ok just cannot change the offset number to show 600. Help?
Too long winded about CTCSS and PL, yes we know what they are just get on with the programming. The part about setting the repeater split drove me nuts until you explained it. The manual is no help with that. Thanks 4 the help 73!
