I love U-God (and the whole Wu for that matter), but he should let this go. It’s been almost 30 years. He was the biggest D-boy and least talented emcee out of the group. Only had 12 total bars on 36 Chambers (bc he was locked up) and wasn’t totally committed in the beginning. The side groups/projects he’s shitting on, Killarmy, Sunz of Man, Gravediggaz, Killah Priest, La the Darkman, The Swarm, Ghost Dog, Bobby Digital and Cappas solo were ALL dope and helped stamp Wu as a dominant force along with the main member projects. TALK ABOUT A FLOOD over a 5-6 year period. RZA was indeed spread thin and Executive produced a lot, without producing everything he was involved in - which helped give us the Wu-Elements with 4th (B.I.B.L.E.), True Master (Fish), Mathematics (Mighty Healthy) and later Bronze (Lyrical Swords) as heavy contributors and helped further spread the Wu movement on many projects. Deck is the only 1 out of the 3 that U-God mentioned (3rd being Masta Killa) IMO that could feel slighted. But he doesn’t come across bitter like Baby U after all these years. Deck’s project was lost in the actual flood, but the lack of attention he was getting from the RZA pushed him to start producing on his own (Visionz, S.O.S.) and lead him to Czarface. By the time U-God came out with his solo in 99 (which was executive produced by him AND the RZA) he was a seasoned artist, found his voice and style as a lyricist and knew his artistic lane. Redemption was DOPE giving us Bizarre, Lay Down, Turbo Charged, Pleasure and Pain, and (ironically) Stay in Your Lane. I have no issue with U-God beefing with his brother, but in the same breath he should put it out there that the Wu run was monumental and he was a part of it. The word I’m looking for is gratitude. I’ll finish like I started, still got mad love for U-God.
Lol ❄️🦧 swear they know inside info on famous blacks people🤦🏿♂️ Like how about u break down the Red Hot Chili Peppers internal drama u 🤡 U got gay slave master mentality just like your father and his father before him🤮🤮🤮🤮
@sixolilemaselwa1450 he's also on Above The Clouds, one of Gang Starrs biggest jams. Rip Guru. All of us real fans know Deck is one of the absolute goats. Probably my favorite of all time.
@@Embassy97No doubt...Muzzle Toe, The Hit, Lutunza, well the whole damn album was fire. "U-God he..he, he the baby of clique" that always made me laugh never knew how true it was until now though 😄😂🤣
Yeeeeaaa i love Golden Arms but have to disagree with him on this. I was a fan of Grave Diggaz, Sons of man as well but Killa Army?!?! They was to me like boot camp clik meaning I felt they could have held their own even without Wu behind them. They was just tht dope! I knew alot of ppl tht came up tryin to rap like Killa Army whn we was kids. Wake tha fuk up or get woke da fuk up!
Killarmy is legendary regardless. It's in the books. All the heads know they're unbreakable. Swingin Swords and Camouflage Ninjas my personal favorites
I disagree, they came along in a time where labels were “needed” they couldn’t force a label to give them album deals and he blaming rza ain’t fair in my eyes, it’s business and u have to move the way that’s needed to make money, u god wasn’t a great rapper, ok at best, odb wasn’t a good rapper but he had the it factor
i disagree. the wu would have been the wu without ugod. but wutang wouldnt have been as famous as they were without the wu family members on the sidelines like killarmy, gravediggaz, sunzofman, killahpriest, la the darkman, remedy, wu syndicate, etc.
@@jbronz213 I feel you but it seemed like almost everyone in the group kinda had the same problems with RZA and his brother. They are the common denominator. But some of them also fumbled the bag and that flood definitely ain’t help
Not true. Deck’s album was done and intended to come out as soon as they found a deal for him. The flood messed it up. 2.) UG was questioning RZA’s production and creative decisions. This didn’t encourage RZA to work with him. There were other people eager to work with him. 3.) Bruv! RZA cared about branding. He wasn’t going to release experimental and/or subpar music with the actual Wu-Tang members. His side projects were that, side, projects. He wasn’t fully invested in them. UG sound salty for his lot in life [>
Killarmy, Sunz of man and la the darkman all had better albums than him. The main person who suffered was deck as he was arguably the best member of wu tang skills wise and his 1st album got ruined by the flood and Rza said it was on the same level as Cuban linx and Liquid swords. What could of been.
Rick James "I'm a grown man. What imma do, just be grinding me feet in somebody's couch? I got a little more sense then THAT." Also Rick James: "yeah I grinded my feet on his couch. Rich mfer can buy a new one. "
They have to realize that he put the group on and it was his vision. It helped everyone and he wanted to help as much people as he could. That’s a real man to have a platform and to put on. I salute RZA
@@stackinpapers680 Thank you....that's like having a wife and kids and you feeding the neighbors 1st before your own family...backwards shit, and it hurt the group.
@svenvdv2880 ....the comment said "him, masta killa, and inspectah deck". U God said "him, masta Killah and inspectah deck". The episode focused on U, MK, and Deck specifically. The connection is there.
What episode of what? You do know that's all rza. Ghostface says it's a story about him not his actull story. He and rakim(edit Raqwon)never had beef.rza a p.o.s. and it's coming out fast
Both of their arguments have merit and both points are understandable. Hot 97 had Rza talking about this for a good 10 minutes. Rza sacrificed ALOT to put the group first. Rza released ALL 9 MEMBERS to go land their own deals. He DIDN'T have to do that. 1-3 million dollars per member do the math. He passed up on 10 million on the LOW END, 25 million toward the HIGH. NOBODY ELSE would've done that for the group and Rza was HAPPY to do it for them. Same time, I feel Goldie. He should've been timed to drop the solo in the first half of everyone's debuts. He brought the heat CONSISTENTLY and you gotta strike the iron while it's hot. Rza should've drop Suns of Man/Gravediggaz, Killa Army, all the spreading yourself thin and FOCUS in the NAMED MEMBERS until its knocked the f*ck out! What could've, SHOULD'VE been.
Gravediggaz was a project done before the WU album, it just came out around the same time. Let’s be honest we’re you anticipating a Golden Arms Album? Insp Deck definitely
@@charlesleverejr8784 lol at no point in time would a U God album do #s. Dunno what he thinking because Wu Tang would have been just as successful without him so he should be greatful for just being there and making $$ he never would have in the streets not to mention still being alive 😂🤦🏽♂️
hard disagree. ugod had the weakest flow and lyrics of all the wu members, and definitely compared to killarmy gravediggaz and sunzofman. even cappadonna who wasnt an 'official' member of the wu was better than ugod and dropped 3 albums, the first two of which were pretty fucking great.
30 years later and some these dudes STILL pressed about RZA and the handling of contracts from the jump. Like the plan or not, RZA took you tf out the hood and U God wouldn't have gone anywhere on his own with his attitude and poor broke boy mentality. RZA is a genius! Period.
U GOD and Inspectah Deck have always been my favorites. Their style and flow were always great. I love their solo shit. Forgot Killah Priest. Good 2nd gen Wu.
I made this same point on another comment. It's like these dudes can't see they would have been just a bunch of niggas from the hood had RZA not come up with the idea and produce the beats, U GOD even more so being he was definitely the weakest which ain't a slight because the rest of group were legendary MCs
Rza I a musical Genius But I think every core member should have gotten an album before side groups . Good thing the whole clan is tighter than ever now ! Seen the whole group live last year.
Facts! The Wu is crazy strong these days! Older God Knowledge prevails. Live shows have been incredible 🤯 Red Rocks, 3 Chambers Tour, and NY State of Mind Tour are bucket listers for me! Peace Fly God ✌️
They should of definitely, they all deserve their own body of work BUT maybe the RZA knew who took their careers more serious than others there’s video of method man making a point saying he’s the only one that wakes up early for radio interviews while everyone sleeps & chills & they give him shit cause they only hear him on the radio & interviews by himself
In 93 in South Carolina we wanted you, Deck Raekwon, Ghost and Dirty. You had one of the illest verses on 36 and in Rap and Hip-Hop period, until this day. Glad I had the chance to meet you, Deck and Masta Killa all at the same time and chopped it up and spittin. 👐💯
@@shunyataberlin Read my comment again. I'm 93 in South Carolina we wanted U God, Deck, Rae, Ghost and Dirty. If you wasn't in SC in 93 hanging around us, this doesn't not include who nor what you like. 🤷
No lies!!! But Really Inspectah should’ve had a whole joint and all of them should’ve gone before the side groups… to include Cappadonna. As much as I love Cappa and listen to the Pillage religiously, Masta, U, and Deck should’ve all had their hits done first!!
@@jahazshine4587 you do know that Deck had an album in 1999 Uncontrolled Substance. Dope album. I hear what you saying but you said "Inspectah shoulda had a whole joint"
UGod is dead on. They UGod, INS, and Masta Killa definitely suffered from them being pushed back and have off-shoots come first. I watched the fuckery happen as a fan and wondered why it was taking so long to get albums from those members. Now I see why that happened.
Watching the series makes me come back to these interviews…not one member lied…I love that the RZA made sure all their views on what went wrong got light in the series
It comes down to this. If U-God or Masta Killah was ever thrown out of Wu Tang it wouldn't really damage the group. U-God is great but he has some character flaws that holds him back. We all know someone like him. The guy that blames everyone and everything but himself for his problems. No charm. No tact. Woe is me type of guy. The only member that didn't get their shine and really wasn't his own fault is Inspectah Deck.
U is basically saying he wanted the Rza to be exclusively Wu Tang 9 members. But Rza is a talent that is very rare and innovative with astounding vision, you can’t cage a bird that beautiful
@@housahaulicrecordstv4310 Lol everytime i hear ugod or masta killa its like they voice aint eq'd and their bars aint quantized to the track. I be thinkin why these dude in the Wu, for real?
U-God’s album, Golden Arms: Redemption, was definitely slept on. I bought the tape back in ‘99 off the strength of “Dat’s Gangsta”, and it was a solid album. “Rumble” was even featured on that Shaolin Style video game for the PS1. Those other Wu projects were dope, though, and they deserved the attention they got.
i had that album and was not impressed. its where i realized he was the most limited of the members of the clan. the least creative. the least original.
I honestly kinda hate the Wu Tang Clan, not their music but just how ungrateful they were towards RZA, dude RZA was a kids trying to do whatever he could so his brothers could live fat, I don’t like that they were always acting like it was all fully his decision….bruh the record label wants so so and so, how the f*ck was I supposed to include you? I can’t force them to sign you bruh. You just have to wait till you get a calling but they were like nah f*ck RZA….if I was RZA I would’ve been like okay my brother, then the clan no longer needs you, you’ll get paid for whatever you did but as far as you and the clan go, it’s no more. RZA lets them walk all over him and I always feel bad for the dude cause they don’t respect him even though he saved them from poverty and maybe even death, pffft the things they were doing in the streets…..death would’ve found some of them sooner or later. That’s why RZA is my favorite from the WU 👐
You right God IN RZA POSITION none of the other memebers would’ve been able or should I say have the ability to even manifest what WU-Tang is today try producing for several rowdy rough Mfs and yo cousin and yourself it’s ALOT PERSONALLY U GOD AINT WANT IT AS BAD I FEEL that’s why he talking side ways 🙅🏾♂️🤣
@@grillandtaste they forget how important RZA is, yeah y’all can rap but without a dope beat what do you got? NOTHING. In my opinion RZA deserves people like Em and 50, Em is loyal as hell to Dre and 50 is loyal to Em, Not one of these damn dudes is loyal to RZA, they all on that “I’m a king” shit but they forget, who made you a king? Killarmy first 3 albums are better than anything U God ever released. Sunz of Man got classic records. I can’t think of a single classic solo U God song.
@@envyops Train Trussle is the only song from that album that stands out. None of the other songs were memorable for me. He had some good joints on Golden Arms Redemption thanks to Bink on production, but again the album is mostly forgettable. Killarmy and Sunz Of Man have some real heavy classics that I still bang to this day; like, a lot of their songs. U-God doesn’t have a single song that comes anywhere near Wu Renegades or Soldiers Of Darkness for example.
@@ultramag0343 Wtf does this have to do with me? I’m not the one sitting here bitter calling other groups “wack side niggas”. You should ask U-God those questions.
Sunz of Man Last Shall be First album has multiple tracks that are better than anything U God put out. No offense U...you had some decent lines but not even close to Sunz or Killah Priest 1st album
Deck has that complaint. Nobody was screaming for a U God album. Some people have to be grateful they were in Wu-Tang at all. All families are not created equal. It's hard for the ego to comprehend that.
@@ultramag0343 That's beside the point bro, RZA was the one who brought the Wu together in the first place, but before the Wu some of those Wu affiliates was there before the riches and fame, and if they was down with him then without, why wouldn't he want to put them on, once he got on?. In fact he made sure Wu got there shine with the Protect Ya Neck album before any of us heard of a Killarmy, Sunz of Man, Royale Fam and the other groups under Wu Tang Productions. He even did Distribution deals with each member so that they could have their own deal and still be part of Wu Tang Clan. U God was just bitter because his album didn't sale like some of the main acts like : Meth, GZA, Ghost and Rae.
I could understand both sides alot of times are different perspectives can get in the way of communicating with each other. He sees it this way when I'm sure rza was trying to make sure he kept up with the many number of artist he was working with.
U-God a hot head, I ain’t heard one hot head rapper have a hard solo joint, folks like him are just good supporting rappers but nobody was even looking for a solo album by him 😂
