Honestly, this was pretty spot on. It’s a relatively normal drive until Haines Junction. Then it gets real, especially driving a moving truck while towing a car. Love your videos, glasses, great advice, and kindness. Thank you.
Yep...you got it...5 cm is equal to 1 gallon...hilarious! Glad you made it up safe despite your car issues. That is some beautiful scenery up there for sure. Thanks for taking us along! Be well!
Glad to see u finally posting videos again! That is a beeeeeautiful road trip with Mayzie... she is lucky to be ur co-pilot! I do the same thing on long trips... pull over, hv a sandwich n check out the scenery!
Man I've been waiting for these videos to come out, thought a moose got ya. :) Beutiful land your driving thru. thank you for bringing us along. Safe travels.
Thank you for the inspiration, Dave. My family farm is only 90 minutes from home. Nobody has been there for 30 years, except for the guy leasing it for Cattle. When we moved back from Oregon, it seemed like burden to go out there. Now, I'm going out 2-3 times a month, working on the place and getting to know Andrew... the man who owns the cattle. He is a great guy, and takes good care of the place. I've even scoped it out and found a nice secluded spot in the woods to be a little radical.
Told your wife in a reply that the UP is my favorite place in the lower 48, I love it up there, I like to hang out in the Western UP near Ironwood. I often think of living there it is great place even in winter. Of course winter is my favorite time of year.
I spent 3 weeks in upper Michigan in 2015. Based out of Mackinaw Mill Creek Campground, just outside Mackinaw City. Sunrise over Lake Huron, Sunsets over Lake Superior. Beautiful country up there. Spent a lot of the 3 weeks in the UP checking things out. Safe travels...
Never hitchhiked that far west, used to go up to the Sioux once in a while though, from my home in the Niagara region. carried a roll up hammock just in case but never needed it, the rides were good and the people would pick me up drove like speed demons, since it was always so far to the next place. Beautiful scenery, at least when I was walking and able to catch a glimpse of it.
JD Corry, My wife and I drove from Van Nuys Ca. to Charleston, IL. 2,100 mi. in 30 hrs. back in 1968 in my '65 289 4 speed Mustang , because my Dad wanted me to go into trucking with him. I had 6 mo. at Ft.Hood Tx. when I came home from Nam and my wife hadn't been at the University very long and had gotten 6 months leave and was pushing the dead line, to get back to work. We would switch drivers going down the road, by her slipping down behind be and me scooting over the floor shift to the other seat. We would stop for gas, potty and food and be on the road in a few minutes.Loved that all black two door hardtop.Oh, most of Interstate was not done back then.Young and flexible in last century :-(
Im with ya bro. Even though I am from the LP as well, I agree; Crossing the Mac Northbound..Absolutely! South, not so much. Regardless of where you are from, the UP is the most welcoming area on the planet. It-just-feels-like- home!
I'm loving the trip updates, I've been watching all the vids from the beginning on a binge watching spree lol I love your mentality and humor I love sarcasm and message and purpose of the channel. "... Wild collies all through this part of the country they're pretty tame but you get a pack of them they'll hunt deer get 20 30 of them they take down a moose... bahahaha 😂😂😂😂😂 Do you have a Facebook page or account I can connect with to keep up to date on all your awesome vids? Have a good one Anthony ✌️❤️😊
Hey Anthony. If you subscribe , you should get updates when I post a new video, but I "think" you need to also click on the little "bell" icon to make sure you get those updates. I'm on Facebook ( Dave Whipple) if you want to keep in touch that way just send me a friend request.
Bushradical ah that's right that weird bell notification I don't use the RU-vid so I don't see it lol I use the website on safari on my phone lol because they don't let you go back a page plus if I find a related vid I'd like to watch I open it in a new tab, in the guy that has like a 100 browser tabs open lol ah ok cool I'll send ya a request it'll be under Anthony Cabral Account thanks Brother
I use to drive cross country. Once I had my own hot-shot set up and crossed into Canada going to Seneterre, Qubec, (spelling may be off LOL). I encountered a different kind of folks.....we stopped and check 4 or 5 places before one would let us use the rest room...and then had to promise to make a purchase...was gonna do that anyways. I bought a pack of smokes...didn't do the math...wow. best smokes I ever had. LOL
UP amazing place love it up there. I have been in central mich all my life. i've been in wawa white river area fishing 15 may black flies one day snow suit the next.................
So I'm a bit confused. In my lifetime, I will drive up to Alaska (probably after or near retirement age when I have more free time) so I've been looking at different routes. I would leave from mid-west Michigan and head up but I noticed you took the long way around the east side Lake Superior. Is this because you wanted a more scenic route or something? It definitely seems like the long way instead of west thru the U.P.
from St Ignace to Winnipeg ...its 100 miles longer to drive over the lake. But, it's much faster. Better roads less traffic, better scenery, fewer towns.
On your trips across the way have you every come up on the mountain man that used to live in the Dc he the one who used to live in the wood of upper washington Dc the one that lived undera stump in the winter just wondering
Oh Angry stays in Michigan with the house sitter. He actually hates to travel and will hide in his litter box, which is both gross and funny. and pitiful.

@@Bushradical I just bought 1.6 acres in Necedah, Wisconsin. Heavily wooded. I am planning on building a four season cabin. Your video have been very helpful. Keep up the great work.
