3703 BMTS, Flight 303, 14 March - 26 April 1977. I remember it well. We formed up at the west side of the building. Our squadron commander, team leader, and "second hat" were Maj. William Kenneth Skaer Jr, William R. Copp, and George A. Minasian, respectively. It was a fast six weeks. Learned more life lessons in Basic that all of my prior 19 years combined. Our TI team was spot on! This was after we got 540 demerits on our first Red Line inspection. Oops.

I have a tape just like this. I went in April of 1992. I remember the mosquitoes were the size of flies. It was miserable weather. It would rain on us for 5 minutes and then get blistering hot.

June 1993 here. 321 BMTS, FLT 376 . This video is making me feel old. I can remember being a road toad the whole time because I kept screwing up marching. Honestly, I thought the worst part of BMT was the waiting and I absolutely loved the confidence course and the physical stuff. Looking back, the Army or Marines was probably more suited to my farm upbringing but the Air Force did me well and I have been quite successful in life. I attribute a lot of my attention to detail to the Air Force.

Crazy man, I got there almost a year later to the day. I probably watched this video at my recruiters office. I signed up in July 92 but was on delayed enlistment for about 9 months.

Wow this brings back memories. I joined up in Mar 92 and retired in Dec 14. But what crap are they showing? I never got allowed to go to a rec center after mail call and our T.I.s were a lot more brutal. Is this the G rated version for tv?
@RichB17

I thought this video was funny also. It was much more brutal when I was in 1992

I agree this seems tame. I remember getting screamed at relentlessly all the way up to my last day. I had a female instructor. I heard that we were her first female group I don’t know if that is true but I believe it. She was tough

Oct '92. Was one of the last to take advantage of the program that pushed you through in 2 weeks if you had 4 yrs of JROTC in H.S. or if you were CAP.

Russ, I remember this well. We had a guy who received the General Billy Mitchell Award in CAP and he was done with BT is 4 weeks.

Damn just like I remember it back in 20may90. My T.I was Tsgt Burby I hope she’s doing fine she was cool and fair and this other cool training instructor forgot his name.. I remember seeing recruits stressing out after eating breakfast and barfing. The Air Force basic training is all about them fucking with your mind rather than physical punishment. It’s probably worse for some people because I remember they had a ward in the dorm building where they put recruits who snapped and couldn’t handle.

The training instructors are a joke. Little sad men who desire power and have no talent/skills/intelligence to get it by other means.

August and September of 92 for me. We were quarantined for a week because some dude had crabs, ended up staying there for 7 weeks. I don't remember what squadron or flight. SRA Estrada was one of our MTIs and that sawed off dude could flat call cadence.
