While that is true, it’s just a damn shame that this is happening to them at the hands of the same person who they work so hard for. Also, a lot of these families don’t have great finances and are living “paycheck to paycheck” as they said. So I agree its not right to look down on the poor. Bree James someone told me that people got double of their food stamps this month so it could last recipients until the end of February. When I use to get Food Stamps for a while, I used coupons to maximize my Food Stamps. People at Walmart use to get pissed off with me but I could care less. There isnt a stadium that can hold that many.... conventional wisdom was one needed 3-6 months minimum liquid emergency money. This couple doesnt have a pension or life insurance to borrow from? Just as the typical young person is helpless, the best and the brightest government workers are ill prepared for basic life. Folks in the past could build, repair, re-purpose, my grandmother used to trap animals for their fur to make coats... she also used a gun to shoot game to eat. @Da Co I can vote and I do vote. More and more people are voting third party. There was a record vote for 3rd party's in 2016. The most went to Libetarian Gary Johnson. It took away equally from both parties so it didn't hurt either candidate. The other minor parties didn't get as much but it was the most of any before 2016.

The worth of money changes state to state, this effects EVERY single good in the state, in one state you pay 2-3 dollars for something and in another you pay 6 dollars for the exact same thing, or in reverse depending on what that state's businesses produce themselves locally and stuff that needs to get transported from out of state.

How about people have some money saved up, instead of living paycheck-to-paycheck and beyond their means, especially for people who are government employees who have health care, a pension (free retirement) and vacations. These people get paid really well. Not to mention, that after the shutdown is over, they're gonna get a huge "paycheck" for literally sitting around and doing nothing. They'll probably go on vacation, and you're feeling sad? If Trump had a 1-year-long shutdown, that'd be one year's worth of paychecks for doing nothing. Do you get paid tens of thousands for sitting around and doing nothing? Everyone should have 6 months to a year's worth of food and water in their house and everyone should be prepared. Have you not learned from Puerto Rico and all the other disasters? Living paycheck-to-paycheck should be a transitory state, not a lifestyle you live on. People are buying used luxury cars, the latest iPhones, computers, movies, eating out and then afterwards complaining they don't have enough. I still think people who need help should get help, and government SNAP and charities are still open, but for people who are working it's imperative that they start limiting their spending (don't go out and spend money) and to live within their means and have money saved up and growing over time.
