Uno de los mejores recitales de U2 del año 1984, con un publico aleman super encendido alentando y cantanda todo el tiempo. Send me a messenger if you want to have det whole concert.
Back in early 80’s this song helped me live , thru my addictions, through my life , cried every time …. Still makes me weak when I hear it … absolutely prophetic and beautiful!!!
I say this without hyperbole: I believe "Bad" - is one of the most powerful, moving, and beautiful works of art... ever created (Including all of Music, Film, Literature, Poetry, Paintings, & any other artistic medium). That “scream” that he lets loose while crying out "I'm wide awake” us without a doubt -- the most devastating and cathartic moment of art, that I have ever experienced. This song is the perfect encapsulation of what it feels like, to see someone you love - struggle with addiction. Eddie Vedder actually called it the "greatest song ever written about addiction." I don't understand how any human being, can NOT be moved by this Song. I am literally, in a state of euphoria and transcendence, every time I hear it. This song changed AND saved my life, when I was going through the worst times of my life. It infuriates me when I hear people mocking U2, and trivializing their music, and their contribution to the 'Pantheon' of great songs and albums. Especially because people from my generation/age group (I'm 26), are the ones who LOVE to bash u2. This generation gets off- by criticizing, and being cynical towards any artist that tries to convey emotion and passion, in their art. Nobody that is honest with themselves can say that songs like: Bad, Pride, One, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Still haven't found, (or anything else on Joshua Tree)… are not great songs. War, Unforgettable Fire, Joshua Tree, & Achtung Baby - are ALL Masterpieces. Any person that doesn't think U2 is one the greatest Artist of all time-needs to listen to 'Bad'. And any person that doesn't “understand” 'Bad': either, just doesn't understand the point of Music/Art - or… They have no soul.
Bad is the very best of U2...and has saved my life more times than one as well. I used to vehemently defend U2 and try to get people to see in them what I did, years ago. Now? I just pity them. Life goes on.
No words can describe what this song make you feel. If I ever got amnesia I definitely will remember this song when I hear it bc of so many time and years that I listen to it it stuck in my head. So many years and never ever bored of listen to it. I wish i could see them live. Its rare to find people that know this song and appreciate it like I do. The best song that ever exist a true MASTERPIECE. Also its my alarm ringtone and i will never gonna change that.😊
Sokol Kristollari Well said, my friend. I could not agree more. I think anyone who has not experienced the effects of this song, is missing something in their life.
incredible ive listened to it 1,000 s of times and this video fills my eyes with tears knowing ive a friend out there struggling through This and"is stuck in a moment. they cant get out of... I will wait for them to find themselves i wont give up theirs hope 4 them
cant see through my tears! very passionate and WOW he nailes this performance ive literally watched it 100s or maybe 1,000 times Wishing ?y friend out there who is "sleeping?"could be Wide awake
Put this song on for your kids or grandkids and tell them of a long ago time when singers actually had to hit the high notes all on their own- and actually did
I saw them in the early 80's and have been a fan since - even though I prefer their pre-90's albums. I play Unforgettable Fire and Joshua Tree for my 8 year old son who takes drum lessons. His drum teacher is astounded he asks to learn by playing to these songs. Most kids his age have no idea instrumental music like this exists...
I just want to say that the people who were there those nights during that tour, they just have to be thankful. U2 sounded young and full of power. amazing
Saw this tour about 3 weeks later in Toronto. Second row, small venue. Never again saw U2 as good as they were at that time. In the future Bono seemed more passionate about himself than the music. Brilliant show I could almost feel the sweat on The Edge and Bono........... I will sing, sing a new song...... The girl beside danced on stage with Bono during 40. (he didn't seem to want to hug me :) )Simply brilliant and passionate in a way few artists can be. It was a freakin' cold December night in Toronto and yet I stumbled out into the cold night after the show drenched in sweat. A five star night that made me rethink what live rock music was all about
Check out the Rattle and Hum version of ‘Bad.’ That’s passion all those years later. Bono’s passion for his craft, U2’s music, and not ripping off the fans has NEVER waned, EVER!
i saw them 2 weeks later, Dec 3 at ny's radio city music hall, front row, was out of my mind, as was most of the crowd. yeah no comparison between that show and any of the 6 additional shows i saw them at as the years went on. there's audio of that show on youtube, i listen now and then for nostalgia. toronto and detroit were dec 7 and 8, just a few days later. great tour.
I remember this tour sooooo well. I was a sophomore in high school. Saw them at the Worcester Centrum in December of 1984. Bono's voice was so powerful back then. Enjoyed seeing them on the Joshua Tree tour as well back in 87 but they had become so huge at that point that they lost some of the intimacy they had on this tour. It was inevitable, I suppose; but that Unforgettable Fire show at the Centrum in 84 remains my favorite U2 concert.
2021 and still the best ever..this u2 song bad are the best song of u2 for me...loves u2 almost 30 years..and still change my life this band.U2 4 ever love from Portugal
Anyone who saw U2 live over that 1984-1985 tour will forever remember their power, passion & energy. On their first tour dowunder, saw U2 live in Adelaide (South Australia) at the Apollo Stadium. It was one of the greatest concerts I've seen. And its the only time in the band's touring history they played "Gloria" in full twice - as the set-opener & then as a surprise finale of the encore-set. The atmosphere in the crowd was electric. Have never forgotten that night!
John Kerr I envy you and anyone you has seen them live... I’ve been a big fan of U2 since the early 80s from the first time I heard Gloria I was hooked.. I never got a chance to see them when they came to Australia, My biggest regret. You can see their passion in their videos which gives me goosebumps every time.
There are times in life when God helps you speak and convey your message or messages. This and other songs from U2 are proof of that. The men of U2 surely have beautiful hearts if God helps them convey messages such as this. This is a song that will be played at my funeral no matter how old I am.
@@mysticedge4 his voice is super strong but they messed up his microphone, still think sound qualitywise this is better. The quality of the feedback on the rotterdam made took from it.
Bonos voice was amazing singing this ! Even the high notes sound effortless! His singing in later years never matched this level! Brilliant performance from u2
@@joenagle2595 I'm Irish. I live an hours drive away from Bonos home. I've seen Bono and the edge walking through Dublin a few times. I can't get tickets the past few concerts they have played in Dublin cos they're zapped up in a flash. But I have seen them lots of times during the 2000s. How about you
Is more humble with age too but I think people misunderstood zooropa era my least fav the crazy zoo tv and NOW I GET ITPOP ART and almost a sarcastic stab at that worship us we should be kings lol but not U2 they made a mockery on purpose Its Art its music its bono tv!Notice that phased out and they are always finding new sounds and musical direction that doesn't disappoint
1986 peeps. Conspiracy of Hope Tour was his vocal peak. Theres an incredible live version of Bad at the Chicago gig. No sound board or televised recording of that concert though unfortunately, just someone with a video camera in the crowd. Take a look it's on RU-vid somewhere
U2 royally screwed up by not including a dvd of this full show in the Unf. Fire box set. What a colossal disappointment that box set was. Meanwhile, a million thanks to the uploader for sharing this in such fantastic quality. :)
Rattle and hum was the best version of this classic and also the streets have no name from the same movie is quite simply the finest moment in the history of Rock
Amazingly 2 years later in 1986 they would be selling out with The Joshua Tree. Yes a successful Album but none of these iconic songs are anywhere in The Joshua Tree.
The last time U2 actually sounded like U2, only the Live Aid version of bad surpasses this one. After 1985 they stopped using the Memory Man deluxe pedals mixed with the korg delay units and Bad was never heard the same. again. Iconic song with a long delay followed by a short delay into a Vox AC30 TB.
gran concierto!!, por cierto el video oficial de" A sort of Cominghome "creo que se escrive asi.. xd pues ese video que sale un concierto es ese que u2 hizo en Alemania Dortmund??
This is my favorite U2 song, and I never tire of listening to different live versions of it, and I have never heard this one before! Cheers! Am I crazy though, does it sound a little bit like Bono is off key? Particularly around 2:25 ?
This is the first time edge used the new Korg SDD 2000/ 2500 ( 3000 model came first “correct info”) for BAD. The studio edition does not sound like they are using digital delay, sounds more like the Memory Man Deluxe sound. This Dortmund and the Live Aid edition are the only times the delay sounded ridiculous. I have never hear this delay sound since the 1985 live Aid edition. To me this sounds like the Korg SDD 2000 or the 2500 model. Yes edge started using the 3000 models around the Joshua Tree and has had them on his rack since but he has never had this type of sound for Bad since the Live aid edition.
wrong sdd 3000 came out first. thats why the others dont have the preamp ..it was built for studios..others were built for the road lighter hence no preamp section which is were the magic is.
@@danfuerthgillis4483 I have 2 of them.. got them before they went up in price...if you want to get very near there sound get exotic super sweet pedal..has the same preamp sound and the strymon dig delay..very very similar
