He has every right to talk his mind it's what made him the genius he is and human rights advocate, don't be a shut up and play the game robot booster not cool.
My good friend of 30 years OD 3 days ago. I love you Richard! Give my brother a hug and tell Stephan I'll see him soon. Bet you and Cliff Burton are shredding across the cosmos🤘
WOW this is the best performance of running to stand still I have ever heard! The way his voice vacillates from harmonizing to storytelling and still keep the audience engaged it is something very few rock stars have the Charisma to pull off. Consider yourself very lucky if you happen to stumble upon this gem.
Because that is a very young Bono. Look up Running to Stand Still live in Sydney. That one makes me cry to this day and I watched it live on PPV nearly 30 years ago
@chrisjuliano3964 Bono was young at Sydney back then. If we are talking 1993, this was 5 years erlier, both versions are amazing, but Sydney continued with a: Where streets have no name hehe
Back when this song came out I thought the song meant 'she' was running up the down elevator - that life was harder so she had to run faster. Now it seems to be 'running to stand still' with the 'stillness' being death, rather than lack of progression - so 'she's' running towards her own death. Interesting how perceptions of lyrics change with time. I just hope that a particular junkie I once knew is still alive and doing well.
Back rhen in teh late Eighties I was too much drowned in my first job - so I missed this. But how I caught 'em up ;-) Some years ago I was there when they did the Whole Joshua Tree !!!
Beautiful song...it does remind me of a,good friend who dies from that poison that kills millions of people....it does remind me of myself qetting out of it...thanks to the mercy and power of God...anybody can qet out if you ask him for help as I did...
And so she woke up Woke up from where she was lyin' still Said I gotta do something About where we're goin' Step on a steam train Step out of the driving rain maybe Run from the darkness in the night Singing ooh la, ah la la la de day Ah la la la de day Ah la la la de day Sweet the sin, bitter the taste in my mouth I see seven towers, but I only see one way out You gotta cry without weeping, talk without speaking Scream without raising your voice You know I took the poison, from the poison stream Then I floated out of here, singing Ah la la la de day Ah la la la de day Ah la la la de day She walks through the streets With her eyes painted red Under a black belly of cloud in the rain In through a doorway She brings me white golden pearls Stolen from the sea She is ragin', she is ragin' And the storm blows up in her eyes She will suffer the needle chill She's running to stand still
Brilliant even the harmonica. Many hate Bono cos they think he preaches too much. My dad was a preacher, but I know the difference. Maybe Bono will only really be appreciated after he's dead (sad to say). Freddie was loved and appreciated while he lived, but only really revered after he died. It was ever thus.
@@emilyjones5830 your opinion, wholeheartedly disagree. He's rich, started from nothing, worked hard, been consistent, reached a lot of people. I don't like the narrow mindedness and class warfare, envy, spite, whatever it is, that comes his way. Often from people who have achieved little and offer little...
Kudos to the guy, everyone always has different opinion, which is good, except if you live in a dull world. The difference being,if you're tactful you won't have to say anything 🙃😉☘
Turns out....the whole place is running to stand still now eh? At least I can still hear great music, for how long remains to be seen.....by us all....Turns out.
Kill me for my comment, but I see amateur muscians playing beautiful music with HUGE passion - sentenced to a world famous band! This is what I miss from U2 these days...
