The UA Galaxy Theatre, now operated by Regal, now has recliners. These still ads sequences were the pre-FirstLook/pre-Noovie type of thing (first was The 2wenty). Imho, good thing we don't even have to deal with all the creepiness (as if 3am-like activity) in silence without music when being seated while waiting for previews and feature presentation. Edit: Some other theaters such as Showcase, however, usually had music over the still ads sequence and every slide fades in and out.

I think I remember music was playing during the still ads sequences back then

In the 1990's, they show 'slides' before start. Now, they show a 20-minute DVD worth of commercials and interviews before start.

Those were the days when film ruled the movie industry. With digital, it's not the same anymore.

0:51 I assume the spinning windmill standee (shown behind / next to the Mummy Returns display standee) is for Moulin Rouge

Why is the theater empty? Did you break in or something?

Ugh- turn those lights off by the projectors while they're running! They could possibly shine onto the screen, and also makes it harder to see the screen from upstairs so you can make sure it's how it should be. And yes, I know this was shot in 2001 and whoever did that is likely no longer working there, and they're showing digital crap instead of film now.

What’s with the one screen with the CP-200 and older Christie CH console?
