Got empathy for the fighters but did they risk millions and millions when the ufc was failing ? No it was Dana’s family future on the line and he came out on top to provide all these fighters with a platform to shine an get rich now you all snaking the dude ….fkin ridiculous how these ppl can even look in the mirror every day with any self respect
@@martinleerandles4647 Dana White never risked anything, all the money came from the Fertitas, dana is just a boxing fan who had the machiavellic idea to buy all major mma promotions and monopoliez the market.
So not only do they not pay fighters a fair share of the profits, they restrict fighters from fighting anywhere else?! I sincerely hope this lawsuit breaks Dana's wallet and his spirit. Shame on him.
I remember seeing an interview years ago where one of the Fertitta brothers explicitly stated that they copied their business model from WWE. They looked at the business models of all related sports and found the WWE's to be the most applicable.
@@HardMMAF I looked for it, and found an article on mmamania from 2014 that has the quote. It has an embedded video from the interview, but the video is no longer available unfortunately. I'd link it, but youtube usually autodeletes comments with links in them.
I'm rooting for the fighters, but it's going to be hard to win because of signatures on the dotted line. That's what most class action lawsuits come down to.
The judge already made that conclusion. This was a ruling and not an opinion piece on a web site. The same judge who made this ruling will be hearing the whole case.
Money and legal costs are a problem. The UFC can drag this case out for as long as they want. The other side has some good backing but can they last against the UFC powerhouse?
^^ exactly. Ppl love to hate the UfC. But really we all love it. And we don’t want anything to change. Fuck those old fighters trying to cash in on ur pastime. Kick rocks cuz y’all sucked
The suit is probably hanging over endeavors head and/or most likely to be spun off to the new TKO entity when it goes public unless there was a purchase price hold back by endevor when it bought the UFC and in that case Dana and ferrtitas would not be paid their entire fees. How about telling us this so we know who is really on the hook for this if UFC loses so people don’t say dumb things like “rip Dana” etc
Im gonna say it how it is... The fighter took the risks to sign with the UFC... It was well known for years the risks you take for fighting... 2. How many companies were across the world that had MMA Franchises??? I can name 4 right now 2 are still in buisness... Why did these fighters turn to the UFC then if they had these other options??? Why I can tell you why!!! Because Dana and The UFC had the biggest payouts of the time and to the present day... I guarantee Dana and The UFC walk away with paying nothing... 3rd The UFC isnt gonna start out paying players top MMA pay if they dont pull in the crowds... This is no different then boxing except boxing leagues have been around for decades including to if not centuries... You dont see ammatuer boxers going to the Top boxing leagues right out the gate... They gotta earn their notarity through years of hard training and fights to get to the big franchise boxing leagues... And thats all Dana has to prove... Now Dana has only one down fall... And only one... With him holding contracts and refusing to allow his mma fighters not to fight in other leagues and those championship mma fighters like Khabib and Conor and Francis to fight in other leagues such as Belator and others to have a Unified Champion is the only issue Dana and The UFC has... Because unlike the Boxing leagues who allow for this to happen there is no other charges Dana can legally get hit with...
Greed will be everyone's downfall. Karma. Dont forget what they did to mark hunt. After he lost they did away with usada. Favoritism/D.W. privilege. Loss of spinsors and the reebok uniform deal. Restrictive contracts. Fighters pay. Francis Ngannou was making a statement and it fell on deaf ears. Now can they hear him?! So glad he left. They did him the worse!!!! Let them get what they deserve.
I still don't understand what the problem is legally. If you didn't like the terms of the contract, why did you sign it? Other orgs exist, but they do not have the same reach and are are not able to pay you nearly as well specifically because they aren't operated as well from a business perspective. But the fighters want to dismantle that business model? Be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it.
Other orgs were systematically bought out and shut down by the UFC. I'm guessing you weren't a fan of MMA from 2000-2007 because it was a much better time for the sport. Believe it or not but capitalists competing brings out the best in them just like in athletes.
Grow up and knock out your npc mindset... this is why the world is messed up because your average small bussiness owner gets taken out my the banking mafia(zuffa)
@@TexasNate I've been an MMA fan since the beginning. The era you're referring to was the worst in the sport's history. The talent was spread out over several third rate orgs. UFC buying them is the reason why MMA is basically mainstream today. They effectively became the NFL of the sport and unified the public's perception of which org is the 'major league'.
Everything about America amounts to slavery...they won't everyone to work for less and the means the rich owners employ are always dishonest...then you have people who defend the scum like Dana...smh
@@azyy1248 Another room temperature IQ argument is that the government should be able to decide what people should be paid and not the free market. This is a Capitalist economy. They are talking about fines in excess of what Endeavor paid for the UFC. That would surely bankrupt the company and effectively kill the sport. I'm all for fighters being paid more but I also don't want to see the government impose restrictions on companies like the UFC that are so severe they go out of business and the sport gets killed.
