My testimony: After being an atheist for 8+ years, and "married" to another female, I got the urge one day to say out loud "IF there is an Almighty God that does NOT wish us pain or sorrow, please bring me truth, I wish to know you exist". Then God immediately started bringing me the answers I had been searching 8-11 YEARS for! I witnessed Him take control of my internet and the rest of my reality; He first proved to me that demons exist (I called them "inter-dimensional beings"), then He proved His own existence, which I later found to be Jesus Christ. I went through similar things on my childhood, my mom left us and soon committed suicide maybe it was guilt for leaving us with my alcoholic hot headed father. His second baby mama of our half sister left him too soon after never saw my half sister again. Some things in between, kept it short. Life's not fair. There's always someone going through it, I almost gave up on god, but God never gave up on me. I love you god so much

I feel really sad. Poor guy I can’t imagine how horrible it must have been for him as a child. I pray he truly finds that God loves him and that He will help Sean.

My dad was an abusive, alcoholic police officer and it caused me to lose faith in everything. But God has given me the tools to overcome. 50 years later because I'm able to forgive now. Sean's dad died when Sean was 25 years old. His dad wanted to see Sean on his deathbed and Sean willingly went to see him. I believe this is how Sean's relationship with God is, he is frustrated and angry with God but somewhere deep inside he still loves, believes in and yearns for Him! Prayers to Sean, may the prodigal return!

Also to note is how Theo deals with this. Without realizing it, Theo follows God's word and literally cries with him and expresses the most gentle loving attitude that I think breaks Sean even more. Theo himself has a lot of trauma and is also in the midst of quite a journey. I believe God has his hand on them both and pray that God's love and deliverance is fully realized in both their lives.

I knew that God suffer and died for us, but it just hit differently when you said when God saw our sin and suffering, what did He do, He came down and suffered. I'd like God to unpack that some more for me.

This breaks my heart. 24 years of teaching, I think of all the students I must have had under my supervision who were going through similar things. Some, I knew. And those, I fought for to no avail within the (broken) system. This was before returning to Christ. All those years, I could have been praying for them! Praying with them. 😢

I did not become a Christian until I was 29. One of the hardest things I had to come to terms with was understanding that if we have a loving God, then why did He allow me to be SA and neglected as a child. It took me years to gain the correct perspective on this. So, I truly understand how, as a child, this would be very difficult to make any sense of. I just pray that this man, as an adult, would take another look at God and see where he might have gotten this wrong. For anyone wondering, here is my perspective on this subject. One, we live in a fallen world where sin abounds. Two, God gives us all free will. That means we have the free will to make the decision to do truly awful things to other people. And three, I wonder how many people who God laid on their hearts to see what was happening to me and didn't respond to God's leading to intervene. My mother actually knew what was going on, and my father suspected. They were divorced and lived in different states. But even with what they knew or suspected, neither of them did a thing.

Great video and insight as always! I must admit that it was very difficult to watch Sean Strickland break down like this. We often forget that these fighters are human beings too, and that many of them come from rough and traumatic backgrounds. I agree with you wholeheartedly, and thank you for your honest and candid opinion.

I know exactly how he felt as a child... I just couldn't fathom he was there through all I went through... So this Sean guy brought a tear to my eye because I seen his pain.... I know it...thankfully I found him. And I see now why I went through what I did. I had to go through it to grow through it , and the fact I could t take anymore and one night I begged to him if he was there to please help me and show me he's real... That's what he was waiting for That was my turning point. I became born again and never looked back. I read my Bible and have a daily relationship with him. And he communicates in MANY different ways. Dreams are the best. But anyways anyone reading this and in doubt.... God is so real and he's there. You just have to let him in. It's all part of his plan. Much love.

Poor sean man, the man actually needs to know jesus loves him, he gives struggles to make us stronger in faith and in life, jesus suffered for all people and for sean

I went though the same issues as a child as him watching my mother get beat down. The only differences is that during those beating I prayed to God I asked him for peace and after the separation we found peace and over the years my father repented and apologized. I was unbeliever before this I prayed and God because i believed nobody would help us the neighbors kept silent, but Jesus Christ saved me and my mother.

It is so weird seeing two different worlds collide. I would have never thought Sean Strickland would be covered on this channel. I’m a fan of him, and I feel bad for strickland. I always think about evangelizing with him but geographically it makes no sense. But I see a hurt man, who may have fertile soil to receive the word of God. I think he is genuinely a sociopath, but we have seen David wood, a psychopath saved. Anyone can be saved. I think David Wood and Sean strickland should meet and David could give his testimony and share the gospel.

I lived through that to, but Jesus saved me when I was 31 and removed and healed all the scabs from my inner being.

I appreciate your grace and kindness when you create content. I find that so many preachers focus on the anger of God and our faults. In my experience, we don't need to hear more about how bad we are. We need to hear, over and over again, how God's love and grace towards us changes everything. Really great video - I found my own personal feelings towards Sean shift throughout the video, from the shocking start to the emotional moments about losing faith in God. It woke me up to my own lack of empathy towards some people without knowing the fuller picture. Praying that Sean and others who feel themselves too broken will come to a knowledge in the one true God who can (and will) wipe away every tear.

I really appreciate your covering this in a realistic, humane way vs the way a lot of religious channels instantly come from a self righteous, pious place for clicks & their own un-self aware way (Daily Wire, Candace Owens would be an example). I really feel for this guy, but he is dangerous & needs real emotional & psychological assistance. Losing that closeness & belief in God is so painful & so hard when you've just seen too much needless cruelty. It's something that none of us REALLY have the answer to, but as long as we still try to rationalize it; there's something good in that. God IS the most important thing, but to say that his reaction is JUST from "losing belief in God" it definitely is a huge part in his pain, but his reaction is NORMAL JUST based on the things he SAW... I'm pretty sure you don't mean it that way, but he SHOULD be feeling these things based on what he endured TOO. To say it's all because of his loss of belief dismisses the psychological need & affect of the circumstances... Otherwise he's be a psychopath. If he felt nothing, or repressed it, put it aside in a "la la la God is here" way, it doesn't deal with the psychological trauma at the same time; it just gets covered over. I DO NOT mean this in any way AT ALL to say God isn't most important, but there are real traumas that need boots on the GROUND attention. God should be there and is there ALONG during that ride, but we have to do the work. This is one of the things that scares me about "religion." The following is based on nothing I know to be true, but merely something that I've thought that helps me rationalize certain cruelties; The archetypical "sacrificial lamb" is necessary in life to take what we know first hand & help others. That's only my theory, but it gives "some" light to some of the awful things we live through & we see. If we take our trauma & use it to help others (like this guy, he's talking to a "bro" audience, a lot of those guys probably resonated with this & were made tender, or in touch bc of it). There's DEFINITELY value in that, and oddly enough, it makes us yearn more, look more & question more in an effort to seriously hope God IS there & find Him. Gosh, such a ridiculously long comment. Sorry about that, but this one hit home.

Man, that was rough. It really seems like he wants to connect with God again but it’s like he is fighting with himself to not believe again cause it would mean trying to let go of that hate and anger for his father. I think he wants to let go of that anger but at the same time he is holding onto it and it’s eating him.

Demons? You don’t think his reason for his unbelief might actually be the psychological trauma? Why do we have to include demons? Look I believe in the existence of demons, but to attribute all this to demons and not to a simple inability to cope is incredibly myopic. On an unrelated note, I love this chanel so much and the presenter is a wonderfully graceful and humble man. He never once claims to know why others do what they do and just offers his two cents. He is a model Christian.

I appreciate the reminders to consider where people have been as opposed to how they're acting. I very easily treat people where they are at and return abuse for abuse. I'm glad God's more patient with me than I am with His creation. Hopefully that changes in time.

Went through the same thing but at a younger age. My dad beat my mom EVERY NIGHT from the time I was born till my family finally stepped in and made him move out when I was 4. No child should ever know what it sounds like to hear thier mother scream in terror. It screwed me up massively but after countless arrests, addictions and a failed marriage I am finally starting to turn it around by the grace of God

This is helpful. I have been wronged by a lot of people in the last few years. I've struggled with anger in a big way because of it. Try and try to forgive but it just comes back again. But leaving the issues of justice to God really does help me to let go. I've found a lot of peace in that.

I had a rough time growing up, and I came to a similar conclusion as that guy. My experience with life led me to realize that everything was as bad as it could be. Everything is destined for destruction, all life is suffering, and everything I saw led me to believe that there couldn't possibly be any hope, this all has to be meaningless. Oddly enough, that's exactly what eventually pulled me out of nihilism. As much as everything should be meaningless, I saw that there's still meaning. I realized that we don't create meaning, we recognize it, we discover it, but we don't create it. And then I saw that the only reason I see meaning in anything is through the difficulties I experience. I'd have no idea who I am, and I wouldn't know anything about anything if I didn't struggle with myself and all life's difficulties first. So meaning had to come from some mind, some someone, and the only way we can come to understand anything is through this struggle. So this someone, God, gives us this struggle to come to know ourselves and to know meaning, and, seemingly, to know him. That's what makes the most sense to me, anyway.

I know a few people who really struggle with believing in God because they don’t understand how He can allow for such evil to happen to kids etc. It’s always hard to encourage them, never know exactly what to say.

I only know Sean from watching him in the ring, he's an impressive fighter. I'd heard the clip where he talks about wanting to kill an opponent, this actually got him some negative points with Dana White. I had suspected those comments were more psychological warfare than anything - hearing that would certainly intimidate me if I was about to step into the ring with him. I'd never heard the rest of that interview though, definitely brings some perspective. I'll be cheering for him against DuPlessis, but also praying for him.

As someone who had a similar upbrining as Sean, I've been effected completely different. I think perspective is crucial. The same old story of a boy sees his alcoholic dad drink so the boy drinks too when he grows up vs the brother doesn't follow his Fathers footsteps. I took the latter. Very interesting to hear his story.

Why does God allow suffering? Because he gave dominion and authority to men on earth. Men have free will and choose to do evil. Innocent people will suffer because men choose to do evil. The answer to the current suffering of men is Jesus Christ and how we are getting healed and comforted in this life while we wait for Eternal Life. With free will we can choose to do good and we can choose to believe God for healing, deliverance and hope. Blaming God is easy but at the end of day everyone is accountable for their choices because we have knowledge about good and evil.

ive seen it in many people, myself including that when you loose your faith in god due to hardships, speaking about god and jesus's sacrifice makes you cry and feel immense sorrow. i remember when i lost my faith, due to events in my childhood and when i came back to god i felt guilty and as sad as a person going to a family members funeral. but thankfully i was still able to return, no matter what i did i still felt sad knowing that i had left at a time but i was glad knowing i would still ne accepted

I see more of a resentment toward God, for seemingly ignoring him as a child, rather than disbelief. I say this from personal experience, as I did the same as a result of past experiences as a child. I only realized it when I turned my face toward Him again and gave myself to Jesus Christ.

Well that hits home. Even as a Christian today, I still struggle with anger issues. Especially these later days as a couple of infuriating things happened to me. Praying is the only thing that seems to sooth me. But it looks so much like an old venomous habit of the past and it seems I'm hooked on something. What would you suggest ? Can we really "give the pain to God" ? 5:30 By the way, even if I didn't went through stuff as traumatizing as Sean, I also clearly remember a time, as a teenager, where I prayed so that the dysfunctional actions (let's put it that way) in my family may go away. And they didn't. As I clearly didn't know better, that made me resentful, making me think that God wasn't here. Some years later, I became a cynical atheist.

The pain he went through lead him to that moment on camera when "the world" got to see how important God was to him. This tells me...God is important, and forgiveness leads to salvation. You question was. Why would God allow his suffering? We all have our rolls to play.

But I found myself repenting and asking for forgiveness for judging Strickland harshly after my wife asked me if I wanted to watch a UFC press conference with her after agreeing to check it out i quickly regretted it because of Strickland just started spewing profanities left and right I found myself judging him before knowing this info you just shared about him. Lord forgive me and may you bring someone into his life that reveals your grace and mercy.

EVIDENCE GOD EXISTS 1. Order and design demand an intelligent mind. The order and design of the cosmos points to an intelligent mind. If I asked you how a building got there you'd obviously say someone obviously built it. A meal demands a chef, clothing demands a designer, a painting demands a painter, etc. Order does not come about by chance. Accidents produce chaos, accidents do not produce order. A shirt doesn't come together as a result of a tornado sweeping through a cotton field. The same thing goes for a human body, obviously. One single cell has the information of 30 sets of Britannica encyclopedia. Densely packed information requires an intelligent mind and design points to a designer and a raitonal mind. 2. Charles darwin stated if a single cell is irreducibly complex, the whole idea of evolution by chance and fate falls apart. We've come to find out a single cell is irreducibly complex with many examples. For instance, an eye ball can't evolve from stage to stage and gradually become a whole eye ball. If something is missing in the eye, it isn't going to work. The living cell is another example. This exhibits that evolution is false. 3. Under any circumstances no matter what DNA cannot create itself. Its coherent information. The amount of information densely packed in the DNA of a single cell demands an intelligent mind. Every time you are confronted with densely packed information, there's got to be an intelligent mind. 4. Evolution says rain dripped from a rock, formed a puddle, then formed a fish like creature, then formed a monkey, then formed into a human. That had to of happened to not one but two of every single species on the face of the earth. Two monkeys, two elephants, two rabbits, two dogs, two cats, two fish, two birds, two horses, etc. If that were true, how did that baby monkey, dog, bird, etc. sustain life on its own as in infant? Did it hunt all on it's own when it couldn't even walk? 5. The second law of thermodynamics state that ordered things go toward disorder. According to the second law of thermodynamics evolution should not make progression but instead regression. Buildings need to be repainted, cars need to be refueled, etc. This completely contradicts what evolution teaches. In which the second law of thermodynamics proves evolution to be a false theory. 6. Moral absolutes demand a moral law giver. Every atheist I know looks into the face of a person that is doing "wrong" and says, "You SHOULD not do that". When atheist say "should" they're appealing to a standard outside of us and acting as if it's real. The only way it could be real is if there is some God who created and defined it. Atheists cannot live out moral relativism and there is maybe not a ton, but there are undoubtedly some morals that are absolute. 7. The discovery of the big bang in the 1960s shows the universe is not eternal. Which means it has a beginning. Everything has a beginning has a cause. The universe has a beginning, therefore the universe has a cause. The best explanation would be an uncaused cause which would have to be God. Whatever created it had to be big enough, powerful enough and outside of space and time, to create something inside space and time. Which would have to be God. Nothing comes from nothing and nothing ever could. The universe could not have exploded out of nothing with such incredible precision. You don't get order out of chaos. Steven hawking has noted the following. "The universe would not decrease in the expansion rate one second after the big bang by only one part in one hundred thousand, million, million". This lead Hawking to conclude it would be very difficult to explain why the universe should have just begun in just this way, except as an act of God who intended to create beings like us. 8. The anthropic principal. Life is balanced on a razors edge. Any closer to the sun we fry any further away, we freeze. Here's another example. If you changed the gravitational force by just one part in ten to the forty, nothing would exist. Whats one part in ten to the forty? Stretch a tape measure across the entire known universe, set gravity at one inch anywhere on that tape measure and if you move the force of gravity one inch in either direction, we don't exist. The earth's rotation of twenty four hours is just right. If it was a little bit more or a little bit less, we wouldn't be here. The axial tilt of twenty three and a half degrees is just right. If you change that just a smidge then we would not be here. If jupiter wasn't in its current orbit we would be bombarded with space materials. Jupiter acts as a cosmic vacuum cleaner for earth and attracts all comic space materials to it rather than earth. 9. Life never comes from non life. That is the biggest blind leap of faith ever imaginable. To believe life comes from non life is incredible. Never once in my experience have I ever seen life come from non life. All of my observations tell me, plant life comes from plant life, animal life comes from animal life and human life comes from human life. The animate does not come from the inanimate. It absolutely never happens. Never one time in your experience have you seen life come from non life, ever. 10. If there is no God, that means all of reality is reduced to matter and energy. You don't get love from matter and energy. If reality is only matter and energy it is impossible to have a free will. Because a free will means there is a me that goes beyond the complex chemical reactions in my brain. If there is no God, there is no free will because all I am is a complex chemical reaction; and you do not get a free will out of a complex chemical reaction. There is a soul, a personhood, a me, a conscience, that has the ability to reflect, possess emotion, and have a free will to decide what to do. 11. Jesus Christ's death and resurrection is evidence for God. 11 out of 12 of Jesus's apostles got crucified/murdered not over a belief, they died for what they claim to have SEEN. Jesus Christ risen from the dead. A roman guard went up to them almost one after another and said, acknowledge Caesar as lord and live or maintain that Jesus is Lord and be killed. And they were all killed; most were crucified. Psychology studies have shown people do not die over what they know to be a lie. It does not happen. After Jesus rose from the dead he stayed on earth for 40 days and appeared to over 500 people. Paul wrote letters to the churches in the area and told them to come talk to the eye witnesses. Which hundreds were still around in the area. 12. Emperor Guang Wu's writings about Jesus Christ dying for our sins, the eclipse and the black sky, that the apostles also wrote about in the Bible. Emperor Guang Wu knew about all of this exactly when it happened and he was hundreds of thousands of miles away in east China and Christian missionaries didn't go there until decades later. 13. The fact every civilization that has ever existed has had a drive to seek God/creator/higher being. All throughout history everyone has always thought, wondered or searched for God. It's a universal human experience. 14. Your rational mind points to a raitonal God. Because it's ludicrous to believe the raitonal comes from the irrational. That's why Charles Darwin in 1883 wrote wrote a letter to a man named Mr. Graham. He wrote, "If it's true that our minds are highly developed monkeys minds, why do we trust them to tell us the truth about reality? Would you trust the thoughts of a monkey?" He was struggling with epistemological nihilism. According to atheism you can't know anything because your mind is an accident. It comes from the irrational. It's far more reasonable to believe your mind comes from a rational being than to believe it comes from the irrational. 15. The fulfilled prophecies of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ fulfilled over 300 prophecies with some of the earliest ones being carbon dated up to around nine hundred years before his birth on earth. Some stating how he would be crucified for our sins, rise on the third day, be born of a virgin, his ministry would mainly be in Galilee, he would be betrayed for 30 silver coins, he would be born in Bethlehem and many, many, more. God is real. His Son Jesus Christ was a real historical figure and it's universally agreed upon by virtually every single scholar. The death and crucifixion of Jesus are the two most undeniable facts about him. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life and no one will get to The Father except through him.
