Hi from New Zealand. I grew up in the 1960s. The Australian group The Seekers were very popular internationally. I remember singing their songs at primary school level. Us children would sing Morning Town Ride. I like Elvis Presley , went along to the cinema back in the 1960s to see his movies. My favorite song of his is If I can Dream from 1968. Blondie are a fantastic group I was into in the late 1970s early 1980s. I had three of their albums , Parallel Lines , Eat to the Beat, and AutoAmerican. I like Paul Simon's 1970s music. The song Kodachrome is a favorite of mine. Good haul. From Carl.
Sorry to hear your story about Art - even if he was having a 'bad day', taking it out on a fan can destroy the image you had of him, which it did. Those UK pressings from the 60s are superb, even if slightly worn etc. The dynamics can't be beat, even through the pops and clicks. They're a keeper for life! Great vid mate, hope you're doing well and still LOVING your album man. Peace...
That's a really interesting story about Mr. Garfunkel. It makes you wonder how many other figures that you look up to might actually be very different in person. 🤔
Hilarious story about Garfunkel. I probably would have tested him and said the Paul Simon show a lot better. I can't believe he disputed Pittsburgh being mentioned - I'm from Pittsburgh originally and have known this for years, as do many people that have never even been.
Once again another great video and haul. I am Jealous that at your Goodwill is cheaper here in Los Angeles they go for 3.99 and has a huge sticker that they put usually in the middle of the album. Helpful hint use your salvia on the sticker and after a few minutes will lift up in a few moments. Yes I know it’s gross but it works. And man nothing beats those UK albums with the gloss and the sound. And yes Art is a notoriously rude person….separate the artist from the art. But damn he was so good in the film “Carnal Knowledge” and once again so happy you got more Sgt. Peppers!!!!
Of the two, I would have guessed Art Garfunkel to be the more accessible personality. What a disappointment! Some great records, though. I've always loved Simon & Garfunkel. I listened to your record on Bandcamp and love it! I ordered the LP. When it arrives, I'd love to review it on my RU-vid Channel.
