Perfect Ukdiche Modak . The way you explain each and every detail about the recipe I feel anyone can make it in first trail. Even it took several day for me to give proper कळ्या to modak. Before I write my experience,Thank you so much for sharing this recipe with many small but important tips .I am from Marathi Brahmin family,my mother and sisters used to prepare ukadiche modak but in the past I never ate those modak and didn't learn from them. Suddenly from last 2 years I started eating ukadiche modak and tried many times with different recipe of ukadiche modak from different people but never succeeded.But when I tried your this recipe i am really happy to tell you that this time i successfully prepared ukadiche modak for my Home Ganapati Bappa.Thank you so much once again.!

I have been making ukadiche modak with my nani since I was 10 or 12 years old and have been eating it way before that coz she makes best modak.....as usual u explained every step in detail and I loved the fact that you even mentioned that traditionally we use turmeric leafs or banana leaf as a base to place modak in steamer .....amazing recipe as always.....ganpati bapa morya

तुमचे मराठी आणि मोदक खूपच छान आहेत. As everyone has commented you really have put your heart and soul together to creat this divine food for गणपती बाप्पा मोरया! Bappa's blessings makes you very successful chef no wonder!😊 May i give you one suggestion. Add one heaped teaspoon of khaskhas to the saran ( सारण). One and half tablespoon small pieces of Cashew Nuts.The combination of coconut ,jaggery and cashews is very typical of Konkan region.wish you all the best . Though I am making Modak for so many years I still can't master the technic of making perfect Modak Peeth.😢

I made modak today using this recipe. It was the first time that I made modak. I followed your recipe to the T and it turned out sooooo good. I cannot express how good they are! I'm not in India, and I miss the modak my mother in law makes, but with this recipe, they turned out EXACTLY like how she makes it. My husband and I are in modak heaven right now! As marathi instead using rice flour you can use same roti dough and that taste will also be awesome. Do try it. Cz Rice one is not liked by ppl who dont have habit of swwet with rice. Give it a try.
