We have reached a point though where Europe should be able to defend itself from a foreign aggressor. Our population, technology and industry is larger than Russia and as a defensive battle we must develop the capabilities to deter them. China is not a threat to us due to Geography.

I’m a republican who is not voting for trump as it’s blatantly obvious to me that he works for putin with the singular goal of removing the United States from NATO on behalf of his boss. Additionally, I’ve always thought Brexit was the working of Putin and I’m glad you mentioned that. It’s important for people to understand this. Great work! Enjoy the pint 🍻

Any General who can manage the United States military has managerial expertise. He is also apolitical as far as I can tell which is just what America needs versus hyperpartisinship.

Sorry to disagree J but Harris would be a terrible choice, yes her No's look good now but they are never going to improve. Her one solo trip to NATO as VP was a disaster. She was so poor, and dare I say it ignorant to what was going on outside her country. I can still see her PC where the NATO Generals behind her started to slowly move out of shot as she was speaking. The whole thing was a car crash and as I said she has not been left out alone since.

Think how bad it would look for the Democratic party to have been banging on and on about the threat to democracy posed by the other party then to be the only party fielding a candidate who was not the product of an election. The inherent weakness in that hypothetical scenario is unfathomable. It isn't any mystery why the party dedicated to democracy has an invested interest in the candidate they produce being the product of a democratic process.

Tucker his really stepped up his game since leaving Fox. I have to give credit where credit is due on this one. His comments on Russia rolling Ukraine were spot on, “Russia is using a time tested method. It’s Ukraine’s job not to get rolled”. This is what people don’t understand. The lack of goood governance and preparation for the common defense is just as egregious a travesty and the illegal invasion itself. That’s what happens when the cancer of socialism is introduced into society. We’ve seen the same thing happen across broader Europe too unfortunately 😢. Every country from the UK to Romania is deeply infested with the socialist cancer.

Based on the reactions I don't think everyone will coalesce around Biden if he stays in as enough people have concluded that he lost the elections in November, that no votes have been cast or will be cast in for months still, which is why there is an effort to replace him. It's known in game theory, by convincing enough people the outcome of an as yet undecided event is already determined you make the outcome they are convinced has occurred, but hasn't, more likely to be the outcome. It is a truly exceptional human who is willing to keep fighting for a lost cause. Based on the reactions I think there is a sizable enough chunk of the potential democratic voting electorate that will 'but their ...' our way right off the cliff into autocracy because they want a perfect candidate who ticks all their boxes, but no candidate is perfect so there will always be a 'but their ...' to whomever is the candidate. I've spoken to several anti Trump people. After the debate, they have become fence sitters. They do not want a president who appears to be mentally challenged. Possibly a bad adverb, but you get the idea. It's so sad that Americans don't see facts. Most look at image and see Trump as a leader. Four more years of Trump is very worrying. In a way, I'm glad I'm old and ill and might not have to live through all this.

There was something sad about Jill Biden’s immediate reaction to the debate. She told Biden, “You did well, Joe. You answered all the questions.” It’s the sort of thing you would say to a retirement home resident who has just completed a cognitive test. Biden has a few days to prove that last Thursday was an aberration. He has an ABC interview tomorrow. A good performance will not turn things around, but a bad performance will be another nail in the campaign’s coffin. Is it not possible for the Biden/Harris campaign to return donations, thereby allowing donors to redirect the money to a new candidate?

I don't see Biden stepping aside. It's difficult to get anyone else to take over at this point. Kamala isn't really popular and I think she would lose to trump. It's four months until the election and I'm so stressed out. Watching the end of democracy isn't very relaxing.
