This was the first production D300VS that I used to write the Assembly Guide. It has Haydn Huntley's new mag ball arms that have a stronger holding force that he sent me to test last week. Printing a case for a 7" PaneDue destined for the E3D ToolChanger printer I'm testing now too. The filament is my new favorite SnowLabs SublimeGreen PLA+. Made specially for me - I love the color but I really love how it prints. Perfection.

Love your guide! I recently got back into 3D printing and dusted off my old D300VS (bought it back in June of 2017, I have the email receipt still :P). Anyways, I was running into some issues and your build guide helped me once again with troubleshooting some issues with the printer!

I have just started switching an old mini kossel kit over to those type magballs (but not newest type obviously). Doing a maestro too. That printer you have there is a huge printer!

Another slightly off topic question. Do you find a difference between the Delrin and Polycarbonate wheels? Wear or smoothness or anything that shows up in the print quality?

Michael Hackney super, do you sand it lightly at all or just clean with alcohol? (Just curious :)

Michael, Slightly off topic. How did you interface the Mosaic Palette 2 with the DuetWiFi in the D300VS? I've been searching their website and they still list that as not compatible, yet. I have a D300VS+ and was looking at adding the Palette 2 to it also. The D300VS and the + are great printers. Check check. Just jumped over to you sublimelayers blog and found the entries for the Palette 2 but no information on configuring / interfacing the hardware. Your tutorials on the KISSlicer and 3D printing have been a great help.

jupiterdotp92 if you use the Hub, it just hooks to the Duet usb port. That’s it. No configuration required. If you don’t use the Hub you print like usual from the web interface or PanelDue if you have one.

@@AHackOfAllTrades I have the PanelDue, but mostly use the Duet Web Control over WiFi (prefer this to octoprint personally). Does the hub interface to the Palette 2 over WiFi? I was toying with having to modify the DuetWiFi firmware to add the needed status reporting for the Palette 2(Dusting off my old programming skills for whatever they are still worth). Octoprint is open source, as far as I know. Do you know if Mosaic has released source of their changes / additions to it?

Usb only. The octoprint plugin sources are available on git hub. Honestly, it isn’t worth the effort! Start the print from octoprint/hub and monitor it in DWC.

I don't recognize that extruder setup, did the Bondtech guys talk you into something new?

LOL, no, this is Ultibots original extruder that they designed. I haven't had a need to replace it. It was one of if not the first direct drive extruder small and light enough to use on a large delta. It is the extruder that opened my eyes to the compromises made with long Bowdens.
