Update compressor 5.65 CFM installation on GX460-2015: It works...I installed Egoi Air Compressor from Overland Vehicle Systems (manufacturing specification is same as Smittybilt 2781) and manifold system per your Vid. I found that the original bottom plate can be use by fabricate two support brackets.
After running this setup for quite a while have you had any issues with the hose from the compressor to the manifold getting too hot next to other components?
No. Pump overheats once in a while if I try to go 40 psi in on a hot day. No issues with components though. Would do a 2781 if I did it again but too many other projects to tackle at the moment.
Hi Jake: I have been your channel fan-club for months now. Loveeeeee all of your vid. I started my over-landing project on my GX460-2015 about the same time that you got your GX. Thank you and keep-up the great work !!
Don't know that I've seen a more aptly named RU-vid channel after watching these videos. You spent some seriously time to save a few hundred bucks, to which I tip my cap!
I switched to a measure man analog guage after digital died this year. I like the analog a lot better. Jumps around less and no batteries to manage. Here’s the one I bought - amzn.to/3Kf8bWL
I doubt it. You could mount it on top of the factory fuse box as a lot of people do or you could try to under-mount it. Powertrays has a top mount plate that probably would have worked and has more room underneath.
Super cool set up. If you were to add air lockers, would you put it before or after the manifold you made? Also, the ball valve on the manifold is to release the extra air trapped in there after the ball valve right before the manifold right?
Thanks! I don't know much about air lockers but I have been thinking that I would much prefer an e-locker if I went for lockers (doubt I will). Acrad on iH8tMud is trying an elocker on his GX so I'm following along to see how it goes for him. Yep, ball valve wit the black handle is dump valve to relieve pressure (from tires or the system). A lot of guys use the slide valve but they're special order and I'm not airing down from the manifold so I went with another ball valve because I had it.
Looks like the one I have is only available up to 60 psi currently - amzn.to/3Ow0pr4. This one is 300 psi so might not be as accurate- amzn.to/3y5Hz2S either should work but if you’re doing the pressure switch I’d go with the higher one. Or go analog - amzn.to/3a32Y50
@@WastingTimeInTheWoods yeah i got my pressure switch on the smitybilt. Gonna just go with the 60 psi one for accuracy. Im gonna run it on my manifold like yours. Thanks a million.
