@@ioriOki Well, you have quite different inputs with different views. Playing simulators give you the basics of driving real car, first time I drove at the road covered with ice I was able to correct every spin with ease. But if you play with 3D person view, it is completely different story. It doesn't match real life, your experience doesn't apply.
Playing with a wheel in chase cam is like playing at the arcade. So obviously it’s not for the most realistic experience, it’s just for fun. Like it was back in the arcade. It would be better suited towards more arcade like racing games though.
2 tips.. pull the seat forward, you are way too far. You should be able to reach the bottom of the pedal with your heel. You shouldn't be tippy toeing it. With your back flat against the seat, you want to be able to touch the top of the steering wheel with the bottom of your wrist. Yes that close. Second tip.. Wear shoes. The pedals will feel a lot better racing with shoes on. Have fun :)
I am having a blast. I am actually really small, so even with the seat all the way up, I have to kind of toe is, but I will make more adjustment. Thank you!!
i have this exact same sim rig....what i did was add uprights that come out of the 2 vertical unused poles....and now have my tv mounted to the frame....so now i have it all on the rig and to move round room is easy as everything is attached to the rig....
I got the same rig and wheel iori and think it's all you need for some fun sim racing.I installed a Honda Civic seat.Got it for $20.Best thing for a seat is a real one for sure.Very comfy. Also like the idea that this unit can be separated easily for storage. Good video! Good work!
I used to race chase/3rd person view, but once I got into racing AC and ACC I quickly realised that cockpit is the optimum (or sometimes, front hood view if I want the lowdown feel like single seater). If you've matched your wheel rotation with AC in-game wheel rotation then it's excellent. Also don't forget to set the deadzones for the pedals as AC will let you actuate from 0 so that needs dialling in. Also make sure your TV's on the lowest possible input delay with game mode or with all processing disabled, on one of my older TVs I needed to use a specific HDMI input and set it to PC mode to get lowest possible latency. Until I did that, I was constantly over-correcting because of the 10-20 ms input lag. I like that seat setup, I just wish I could find a nice race seat for that sort of price over here :D I think once I've finally bought a house, this is next on the list... You would laugh hard if you saw my ghetto setup. The G29 pedals are moddable using the "3drap" brand printed brake pedal mod. It's a bit fiddly to install but it makes a HUGE difference to threshold braking. Not as good as true load cell pedals, but considerably cheaper! I did it on my G27 pedals and it has really improved my braking consistency. They also make a 'preload' mod for the accelerator and clutch pedals. 3drap also sell replacement potentiometer sets which is great if your kit develops "phantom input" (like my brake pedal did, due to dirt inside). I took my entire potentiometer apart, cleaned it and rebuilt it but honestly for the price, new pots would have been easier. Happy racing! See you on the course... Now get a PC to play AC with CSP and all the car and track mods ;-) Your hobby just became a money pit...
@@ioriOki haha yeah sorry I watched your latest video after commenting and I can see you're nicely set up now 😎 one of the biggest benefits of running a sim PC is that you can load custom FFB curves in AC which gives a great improvement to wheel feel, particularly on the G27 and 29. Being able to use AC Content Manager is a great bonus, I don't use AC without it now. And the mods! The Formula Hybrid and VRC Formula Alpha cars are so much fun on circuits. Also once you get some custom cars and tracks like Shutoko Revival Project and LA Canyons, you can spend hours at a time cruising. So much fun. Nordschleife, Monza and Imola are always a lot of fun to hotlap.
I actually have started doing that. I experience a bit more understeer because I am misjudging my speed, but it does feel like the better way to learn.
@@ioriOki In car views just seems a bit more like driving a real car to me, it's a similar viewing angle at least. I like to see the apex angles from the same perspective as in a real car to maximize cornering, but what ever else works also. At the end of the day, it's a personal choice. Your sim-rig looks awesome btw. Try VR if you can as well, it's pretty cool. Look around the cockpit, tilt and twist your head into corners & hairpins, you can really get immersed. It's kinda weird-trippy how your own hands appear to be the VR driver's hands, holding the steering wheel right in front of you. VR is 3D, spatial recognition in most modern games is impressive.
That’s a cool video! I used to play it on pc but with a big TV especially with a car seat from junkyard it’s amazing and you should do some videos of you playing sim racing sometimes! Keep doing what you love doing! 💗
Go get yourself a H3 from DOF Reality and then you can really honor that word *SIm Rig* Got mine coming this Monday or Tuesday and I'm so excited!!! Can't sleep!
@@ioriOki I was just confused with the mounting since you said it took a whole day and I’ve seen a couple more comments asking about the mounting of the seat. Thank you! Subbed and liked :)
Just found this video and was like "Damn, I have an rx8, buying an extra seat for that cheap for a sim rig would be cool!" then I looked at the local junkyards and they are like 200 dollars.. 🤣*sad disappointment noises*
@@ioriOki That was my thought as well, for that price with the stand, I can just buy a playseat... 😆 It seems like RX8 parts here in sweden are expensive, even from junkyards 😮
Its pretty cool!!! If i had the space, id get that. I got the playseat challenge. It packs up real compact and nice. Plus it sits very low to the ground wich feelz more racey to me. But for what u got plus the price, nicley done!! P.S. do u ever drive in "in car" camera mode? That and hood veiw are the only way i drive. I also use some wrestling shoes for sim driving shoes. They are very light and very slim style shoe that fits al.ost like a sock. It also has a fairly flat thin sole wich makes it awesome for pedal feel. If yiu like driving in socks, try a Wrestling shoe. They feel almost like a sock but will give you a better feel for the pedal than a sock will.
Oh yes, as time has passed, I am not actually driving on track regularly. I have my racing shoes and have started to gravitate toward cockpit view, but I'm still much faster in chase view.
You need to set your steering lock on logitech wheel base to 540 when racing. You are turning the wheel way more than needed. If you change steering lock you will have better control. Happy sim racing.
Good vid. It's not the settings, you are simply over-steering. It happens alot tho when getting used to a wheel. Would expect a car YT channel to realize that tho tbh
@@ioriOki spinning might not be winning but come on straight lines ain't no fun lol. If you arnt going balls to the wall smokey tires all the way down the track are you really living 🤣🤣🤣.
I basically fell out my chair when I first drove my sim, it was my first time on sim and first time in VR lol. You should upgrade to a pc eventually and try assetto corsa with mods !!
This is just what I needed I saw the same one but no one really reviewed it like that thank you! Get CarX drift racing online 🤘🏾😁 it would be dope with that set up
Good video! Is the wheel loud? Because I have my pc in the living room where my wife watches TV while I play assorted racing games. So, I need a quiet racing wheel. Keep up the good videos! :)
I just started this video. New to sim racing. Have g29 and decent cockpit. It’s incredible but I want to upgrade. Anyway, the cockpit that you just bought for I think $120. Is exactly or more or less the same as a U.K. company called gt omega and the cockpit it called gt omega Art Cockpit. Funny because it’s still great value but it’s about £220 or bit less in sale. Compared to your $120 cockpit that looks same, just diff manufacturer, you got a even nicer deal. I actually went with the next level higher cockpit called gt omega Titan and as I’m planning to buy more powerful gear, wheels, wheel base etc, I plan on buying the next lever up cockpit from what I have and it’s called gt omega Prime. Aluminium profile. Much stronger. Again, there are other brands that have same looking cockpit just diff brand and little difference in price. All this stuff is expensive and while I’m not well off, I’m loving spending money on this sim racing stuff. Anyway, back to the video.
That's actually a pretty common thing especially in manufacturing. There is a very high likelihood that they are the same, just marketed differently and the price is adjusted for shipping, marketing, etc and likely has a higher quality control. I'm super satisfied with this setup, but I do intend to upgrade my wheel and pedal setup in the future. I appreciate the support, and thank you for watching the video and commenting!
@@ioriOki thinking about it, It’s the same for e scooters. I have 1 called HITWAY H5 here in U.K. but in America, the exact same scooter, in every way, called e move cruiser. There is actually 1 small difference, or 2. 1 e move cruiser has much more range then my version 2 I believe the e move cruiser can reach speed from 25mph up to maybe 30mph and mine is 24mph. Oh 1 more difference, my e scooter is about have price of e move cruiser. Edit, I’m tired and made mistake lol . The e move cruiser is extremely similar to mine and sold in USA but the actual American version of my HITWAY H5 is called EverCross. Exactly the same scooter, just different name, in our 2 countries.
I'm seriously considering this for when the ps5 vr 2 comes out and I'm gonna take a gamble and hope some comes up with the idea. Otherwise I'll still be playing the shit out of it.
I was looking at getting a sim rig and was think of this $200 foldable not so good looking one. Glade I did more research and found this video. Now I just need to get me a chair for it.
i could source a spare car seat, so i really want to do this. but its about how compact i can make it. i dont have much space. at least i use vr so it doesnt need a monitor directly in front of it. i think if you slide the seat forward and tilt it forward you could potentially make a wheel stand like this that is quite compact to tuck away in the corner when not in use. but im not sure. for now i just use my couch.
@@ioriOki My friends and I mostly had those problems when reversing in VR, cause our brain doesn't let your body know you're going backwards(you can avoid this by physically looking back). outside of that, driving feels perfectly normal. Just try not to crash or fall off the map. If it gets overwhelming, just take a break, lol. it's the most fun I've ever had with racing games though. I had a Logitech system as you do, but my friends Thrustmster steering wheels are pulley-based, so there's a lot less of a "gear" feel(let's you throw the wheel around for drifting). Almost natural.
Sweet video! I actually got the same looking one on Amazon and found a rx8 leather seat. Just got home with the seat I have no clue how you got it to mount up? Any chance you can show how you fit your sest to it? I'm sure lots buying the car seats would like that video. My rig frame gets here tomorrow or Wednesday so any tips putting it all together helps. Thanks
It actually took me just cutting off the pin on the bottom of the slider. It's like an extra leg that doesn't have any threads. Grind it flush and then make a new hole in the slider.
@@ioriOki yeah mine had more than those like nipples on the rails. Was all these welded on brackets. I ended up taking sawzall to it and then drilled out the holes for some rounded flush head bolts for internal slider side. I did sand it down after cutting and it was super smooth. Not too bad but had to do more than I planned was all lol. Just the two nipples would have been no problem if thats all it had. oh yeah i saw you other video and talk about not adjusting the shifter position. So mine only came and showed two bolts holding that L receiver to the frame. So you do actually have some forward and back movement you just have to pick what ever two mounting spots you want to use for the desired position. I actually switch quick often and I have a new L receiver coming and I will just be undoing the like handscrew and moving to the other side facing opposite direction and switch my control profile from RHD to LHD so shifting works properly. Also for cable management you can buy like 10ft of sleeves for like $8 and use that in conjunction with velcro or zip ties
4:52 ayo what? 🤨📸 Very well explained video. The frame and the seat looks nice for a budget price. I was looking for an alternative because the ones I was finding were ridiculously expensive, like $1K for just the seat + frame. And how do you like it one year later? Still love sim racing? Upgraded some stuff?
@@ioriOki I finally bought the GT Omega frame, which was around €350 plus the Moza R9 direct wheel drive. A little bit overkill for my level but it's night and day compared to my old G27 with a table clamp. Need to step up my game a little bit. Try the game Automobilista 2, I find it a bit more realistic, so it will give you a closer feeling for driving a real car.
Looking at the video your feet are too far away from the pedals. You need to find a way to get the pedals closer or your seat closer. Your heel comes off the ground when you step on the gas pedal.
I think you're the only one who didn't grasp what was going on. It has paddles, but none of my real cars are automatic, so I still use it to change gears, even when not required by the game out of habit. I also don't left foot brake unless I'm trying to scrub speed in a drift, so naturally my left foot hovers or rests near the clutch.
pressing the clutch removes power from the drive line. clutch kicks when paired with the gas can cause oversteer situations in rwd cars. Thanks for stopping by.
