Please do not try to stand to Xinjiang, it will be very tiring. If you have to, you can bring a portable bench and sit when there are empty seats on the train or sit in the dining car.
The DanDan noodles in Chongqing are not actually that spicy, they are more fragrant. The truly spicy food is the hot pot. Moreover, if you want to taste more authentic and delicious food, you should ask the locals. Generally speaking, the food at scenic spots is not particularly delicious, but it's fine to try it once. By the way, Chongqing's small noodles are quite famous. You should look for small noodles in some local streets and you can ask the locals for directions.
You are going to Xinjiang, it's really a boost for your courage. Regular trains take more than 30 hours and you still don't have tickets. However, after getting on the train, you can try to find a train attendant to make up for sleeper tickets. Usually, after boarding the train, one can get a sleeper ticket for a period of time. Xinjiang is worth a visit, with many delicious foods and different customs and traditions

00:03 Are you sure it's afternoon there? But seeing the darkness in the video and the lit-up shop lights, it seems like it's evening and night is approaching.
hi,jack,we are so worried about you guys.please let us know you are ok.And looking forward to seeing your new adventures.love you from zhejiang province, china
Nice to see yous again in the comments! China is definitely worth going, love it there but need to get a few things sorted in advance like Alipay, Wechat, Baidu phone apps to make it comfortable
Hi Great trip in Chongqing. One advice, people never ask ''chi le ma?'' or ''have you eaten'' to people they just met, also young people no longer say this at all. But it's really nice you are trying to use Chinese, let's goooo!
I never heard of edible paper for your candy "tanghulu", but for deliveries they pack goods in biodegradable paper for environmental purposes so if you drop it, it should break down. Such paper is edible, although people say it doesn't have much taste.
5:40 Haha, nowadays Chinese people don't greet each other with "吃了么...Have you eaten?", which can be awkward to use. Just simply say "NiHao你好...hello".😁
guys, lots of us Chinese viewers are worried about you two. Almost nobody can stand all the way from Chongqing to Xinjiang on a old train. Hope you guys are fine
😁HI 老铁,If you can come to the north of China to have a look, there are also a lot of food and scenery, when you come to the north I recommend you to eat 锅包肉
Now normally in massive cities the prices are overly expensive yet they are so inexpensive in China, those crispy mushrooms cost next to nothing and look delicious 😋. It is easy to find Chongqing on any map, just look for the diagonal lines of mountains, three long lines and three shorter above them, the city is in the middle.
Thank you mate, I work really hard to show my appreciation and I do that through learning as much of the local language I can and communicate with the locals ❤️
As a matter of fact, that Chongqing's famous spicy noodles should be Chongqing Xiaomian rather than Dan Danmian. Chongqing Xiaomian is a kind of spicy vegetarian noodle seasoned with onion, garlic, sauce, vinegar and chilli.
You worked too hard to make the video, you were all drenched in soup. I really like your videos, especially when you are chatting with two grandfathers in Beijing. Although the language may not be the same, their feelings are actually the same. Looking forward to your future videos☺
@@JackAynsleyTravelfyi, “Chi Le Ma?” only works for greeting Beijing Hutong residents, other people will probably get confused about that😂😂. And “Lao Tie” sounds like you’re a sales person on video streaming or an internet celebrity. You could opt for “Xiao Ge Ge”/“Xiao Jie Jie” to refer to younger men and women, they’ll probably be flattered. Anyway, loving your channel!
33:05 It's probably glutinous rice paper. They just melt in your mouth and then you can taste the real food soon after. Many sticky desserts are covered by these in Asian cuisine, but it's the first time I see people cover tanghulu with them. It's actually pretty clever.
And we locals bite the sugar gourd directly on the glutinous rice paper, instead of tearing off the glutinous rice paper and eating it alone. That's why the seller felt fun and laughed .
Let's all Like, Comment & Share my handsome mate Jack's video then yeah! 99x better than all the boring China content on here so come on show our pals some love 🙏
Hello, jack, I suggest that you'd better not go to Xinjiang by train. I took a train to Xinjiang about six years ago, and it was a painful memory. And you still don't have a seat. It's going to be a tough trip. Stir-fried strips and mutton skewers are the most recommended in Xinjiang. I highly recommend you to go to Guilin, Guangxi, which has amazing natural scenery. I hope you have a good trip.
1) Chongqing was a city in Sichuan Province before 1997, and was designated as a municipality directly under the central government after 1997. 2) The advertisement for the crying girl actually means it's delicious enough to cry. 3) The pork used for barbecue is a variety called "Tibetan fragrant pig", the taste will be better than ordinary one. 4) Hongya Cave is actually a private property that was created by an entrepreneur into its current form. 5) The rice paper wrapped around the strawberry Tomatoes on sticks is edible.
5)) The fruit stick name is "Tanghulu", the orignal version is not strawberry but hawthron which everyone should try first because it is maybe only in China
Are you all okay? I am really worried about whether you will take the station ticket to Xinjiang, it is too scary. I have taken a 4-hour station ticket back home, which has exhausted me. And you will have to go through 30 hours, which is unbelievable. I hope you are safe!
The 7:25 crying girl comes from a 2023 China television series , "The Hidden Love" Actually, this girl has a conflict with her boyfriend, and is crying in the airport. Her elder brother lined up 30 minutes to buy this food for her. This drama is famous in China, and the store owner use this picture to show the food they are selling is the same to the drama. BTW, this food is fried duck with mashed taro filling, a local snack in Xiamen and the neighbouring cities. The mashed taro is sweet and add unique flavor to the fried food. Have a good day in China!
Haha, the number of friends who like mushrooms has increased. I highly recommend that you go to Yunnan, China from June to September. With its unique geographical climate and almost all the mushrooms, it is very fresh and delicious, and there is also an unforgettable mushroom hot pot.
Chongqing in the rain seems to be even more cyberpunk. Thank you for your work in the rain. This is absolutely not easy. 33:00 The thing like paper is made of rice.
you are crazy and so brave if you really stand on a train for more than 30 hours to xinjiang. i used to stand on that kind of train to my univercity for 3 hours several times and i hate it. the latest time it took me 26 hours to stand on the train from fujian province to liaoning province before chinese new year and it made me sick and have a fever
at 1:43 , look the red umbrella at the Bun shop. I just realize it is the local shop I ordered their mushroom pork buns delivered to the hotel when I visited Chongqing. Absolutely good and unique flavor, only in Chongqing. I loved it and could not find anywhere else.
