OMG! This's almost exactly how I make mine! I used 6 cans of beans, a box of mushrooms, 3 lg yellow onions...got the last 2 really fried up brown, yes to the bacon, yes to the cheese. I also added plenty black pepper, lots of minced garlic, some onion powder and bout a Tbsp. of Worcestershire. comes our great every time!
I made this for a late Thanksgiving get together. It was a hit! It was sooo deeeelish! Not a drop left! This is my new favorite recipe! So glad I found your awesome video.
I made this last year for Thanksgiving, and it was a hit, nothing left. The simple upgrades, bacon, cheese, mushrooms make it. Thanks for sharing! It is the best.
I made my first green bean casserole for the first time ever and I'm so glad that I found your recipe. I have always fried bacon and onion together and tossed my green beans with them and served that every year for Thanksgiving. So when I found your recipe I knew it had to be good. I was not disappointed. Thank-you 😊
I just found your channel and subscribed. It's nice to find a cook who knows what they are doing, easy to follow and has a personality!! Yayyy! Looking forward to watching more videos. Happy Thanksgiving!
I happened to see this recommended, clicked it, and then a whole slew of green bean casserole recipes showed up, lol. In my region we have always used the French style cut green beans in the can. And most do the oldtimy way with the cream of mushroom soup, and the crispy onions on top. I've seen some done in a slow cooker too. I made one last week just for me, like above, but used some shredded cheese in it, and did not add any milk or cream. It was the best I've made yet. Now I'm going to make one with one can of regular cut, and one can of French cut, a can of cream of celery soup, and some drained canned mushrooms cooked a little with some diced onions like you did, but without the bacon. This is an enjoyable video, thanks.
I make mine just like yours! I prefer canned green beans over fresh because I don’t like the firm texture of fresh. One step I never considered though was adding cheese. I’ll add that step tomorrow!
This is going to be my 3rd time making this recipe for Thanksgiving ❤ I will never make green bean casserole any other way! Omg!! Unbelievably delicious & promise it will be a huge hit 🤤🤤🤤🤤
I love green bean casserole woth bacon, cheese, and candied/picked jalapenos so much! Also, if using canned cream of mushroom soup Def Sautee and add extra mushrooms like you did. Of course it's better to just make homemade cream of mushroom and it's also so stinking quick and easy. This is a great recipe!
My word Stacey, this looks good. I dearly love green beans and while the casserole has never been a fav of mine I'm thinking this one might just win me over. Cheesy goodness and bacon. YUM. I'm gonna leave mine in the skillet to bake though (I gotta cook and then wash dishes, LOL). I just have to wait for my covid taste buds to recover and I'll be trying it for sure. TY bunches.
I was asked to bring GBC tomorrow. I never ate this casserole as a child, & I’ve never made it myself. Your recipe looks very yummy. I’m going to cook fresh green beans in instant pot for 2 minutes, ice bath, then your recipe. Thank you! 🦃😊
I did this recipe for my family early thanksgiving this year, I just swapped up the cheese with freshly shredded cheddar (no blocks of Monterrey Jack at my grocery store), it's the first food I have ever made that every last drop was gone. Making this recipe from now on! Also add lots of black pepper.
I’m sold because your name is “Stacy”….My college sweetie’s name was Stacy! Checking out GBC recipes and I gotta say; from someone who hasn’t tried GBC ; if I’m go’n try it, it will have to be THIS recipe! Looks good; TFS! Edit: I never miss an opportunity to add mushrooms into a recipe!
STACEY! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas (we are now after midnight!) just wanted to say I made this and it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I altered it a bit: fiesta blend cheese with cheddar and Monterey Jack etc etc. I also browned about 2 cups of chopped mushrooms, and then added Whole Foods “Nordic Forager’s Blend” seasoning, which adds extra garlic/onion/dried mushroom, and some smokiness. I also did 4 cloves of garlic. IT WON THE CHRISTMAS EVE SHOW and I’m now a solid fan of Green Bean Casserole!! Next year, I will try it with fresh green beans to give more texture. Love from South Carolina! ❤️
