In case anyone was curious, temps with the set-up were great 😍. I did get a 170F on the motor at one point, but I was hammering it in extreme heat and fine, slippery dust. Overall temps were 150F motor and around 125-130 tops ESC. Unfortunately, the rock jambs likely contributed to a damaged rear ring gear. I heard slipping and swapped in a machined input and ring between locations. Mesh is still 100% solid thanks to the M2C mount 😍. LOVE this Max6 combo!!!! Same setup as my Fireteam 6s. 🍻
@Richduperbash I need ur help, since I install max5,1100kv on my xmax my rear ring gear keep stripping even shining the input gear, any help will be much appreciated, God bless u and yours
@@haroldrivera3640 my best guess is there's a crack somewhere in the diff case or bulkhead allowing the gears to push apart or get out of alignment. I'd also check your bearings in case one is starting to seize. Cracks can be difficult to see. You might have to flex the plastic in your hands to expose a fracture line. If this is a repeating theme I can guarantee it's either a bad bearing or a busted bit of plastic. 😎💪👊👊
hey rich, if you fall into issues with the diff crown and pinion gears, i believe the bulkheads flex under load, afterall theyre very thin plastic. especially around the bearings. i went with some vitavon bulkheads and diff gears, havent stripped a gear since.
@@damoh4895 thanks so much for the input Brother 👊. This is exactly what we spoke about on the M2C test team. I'll be running Vitavon in the rear sometime soon 🍻
@@richduperbash2966 cant fault the vitavon bulkheads or the gears they sell, all top quality stuff. i already have a max6 in mine, looking at fitting the 1650kv myself in the next couple of months. im still running the factory chassis tho, havent bent it yet. have you seen the vitavon axles and carriers yet? damn are they beautiful.
Awesome session with David Bro Rich. The Sledge is quick and agile with the extra power Bro. It's always Nice to have extra power when you need it. What an absolute Beast of a truck the Sledge has become. Huge props to M2C Mitch and Avery turned this into such a kickass Tank Basher! Another awesome upload brother. Love n enjoyed it!
Thanks so much Brother Chris 😜. Loving this reverse, big power setup 😍. Huge thanks to Mitch and Avery for transforming the Sledge into a hardcore basher 🚀🚀. Stoked Dave could get out there too. 🍻🤙🤙😎💪👊👊
Thanks so much Brother Avery 😜!!! You've hit a home run with this reverse motor option 😱. She's a different breed of animal with this high torque setup 🍻🚀🚀😎💪👊👊
Loved it brother sorry about your ramp failure😢 but it’s been good to y’all over the years I agree 100% you cannot bash the sledge as hard as you just did without M2c chassis and Motor mount💪 Rock on brother🚀🤩💪
Thanks so much Brother Aldo 🤗. Yeah it's a bummer about the ramp finally giving way to years of abuse 😝. Wish these ones were still available. No question the stock chassis and mount would've noodled up from this session. I still can't believe Traxxas fubarred the stock design 😂. Talk about crap engineering. Huge props to M2C for making the Sledge right with proper design and materials 😍👍👍😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 yes indeed I hear you. I was lucky today I spent the majority of my last 2 days allowed to work on my hobby corner. That was great I got my Outcast almost ready to go. Last thing before the old girl is reborn is ohh 2 things mabey 3 Custom Rc upgrade rear skid and lipo straps. And acerman and servo horn. Other then that I am ready to go new lipo’s new wire connectors all cleaned up with new delta fan configuration My buddy helped me with sending me some 3D printed fan adapters for the esc and motor. How awesome is that. Not sure if you have seen his channel or not if you haven’t seen it go sub and check it out. NBRC channel is awesome. He helps me a lot with learning things with the hobby. Along side with BasherBodies I get a lot of help I am so so happy ❤️🤘😎 RC sure brings us together that’s for sure there will one day be a RC Holiday I can see that happening. It’s sure gaining traction that’s for sure. You are one of the greats buddy own it’s like the Boss you are 🤩👑🥇🍻
Man Rich that was a killer run that car was just fly and beautiful that new reverse motor mount set up looks like it’s working great, I’m still running mine in the forward position I’ve been enjoying it at some point I might flip it. But great bash brother
Thanks so much Brother David 😜. She feels Killer with the added torque and very balanced with this reverse setup 😍. The standard set-up worked fine, but the Sledge is heavy enough to benefit from a stronger system and really get the power down. I love the Max6 combo!!! 🚀🚀😎💪👊👊
How is that driving even possible? Incredible Rich. Thanks as always. You definitely set the bar. Unbelievable “AIR” control!👍👊^^^^^^INSANE air as always! 🤙
Thanks so much Chris 🤗. This Max6 combo is super smooth for the amount of torque it has 👀. Makes corrections and throttle delivery a bit more predictable. 😎💪👊👊
Awesome bash session as always love the sledge. Got my M2C upgrades the motor mount is amazing with a perfect mesh soon I'll do the chassis got mine in a few days ago thanks for all the ideas and thank you M2C
Thanks so much Brother Aaron 😜!!!! Fitment was perfect thanks to Mitch and Avery 👌. Loving this setup. Truck hauls complete ass and has Killer torque 🚀🚀 😎💪👊👊
Thank you very much Brother 🤗. The 4985 feels AWESOME in her. Can't wait to get my Fireteam back out soon. Same power setup, but way more fun to bash 😍
Plain simple AWSOME Session Rich, made ma friday 🥰. The Sledge looks solid as few, and i agree for hard and i mean real hard bashing the m2c is a must like it is for all other brands 🤗.
Thanks so much dear Brother Thomas 😍. M2C has really done it right with the Sledge. So nice to have a big power setup in this heavy girl. She's moving great 🚀🚀😎💪👊👊
Really nice run bro. I got all my M2C stuff on my truck and absolutely love it. I ended up taking my max 6 out and trying the new max 8 g2 in mine with the 2250kv motor and I love it. The new max 8 has been amazing for me so far. It stays really cool and feels just like the max 6 power.
Thanks so much Erric 🤗. Yeah anything above 90F is hot 👀. Doing my best to stay hydrated and bail out quickly on these nasty days. The Sledge is hauling ass with this new setup 😍
Just grabbed a sledge . Getting the Badger Queen and M2C upgrades same as you. Then l feel it will be a very tough truck!💪🏻🍺. Awesome vid my brother!!🍺🍺👍🏼 . Just ordered the v2 outcast as well 🤩🍾
I have this set up in my Typhon 6s and Kraton 6s. I just got another Max 6/1650 combo for my Mojave 6s. I love it. I think I wanna go with a 22T pinion. I don't do much jumps just drags. Love the video
Awesome video as always but cracks me up when you say "Sledge is a great platform". Meanwhile, M2C chassis, motor mount etc., Arrma rods, wheels, etc. Basherqueen towers. Hobbywing power system. Uh, what exactly is still Traxxas on this thing? Maybe the arms and chassis brace? LOL. Keep on rocking!!!
The Sledge isn't a great platform in stock form in my opinion. Traxxass greatly exaggerated the stock durability and fubarred the motor mount design. Price is overpriced like all their stuff. It's only great once it's made more like a Kraton with M2C and other hop ups. 🍻
Yeah I think he stabbed the brakes or something 👀. Definitely had to chill out a bit with all the people around. Loving this 4985 reverse mount setup 😎💪👊👊
Most definitely a Killer combo for this reverse motor setup 😱. Unfortunately the ramps were discontinued over 2 years ago. Bought them from Discountramps.com. 😎💪👊👊
I want do like you but with the Stock chassis, i would just cut off that piece from the chassis, you think it is a good solution, modify the Stock chassis?
I wish traxxas would upgrade the pin grub screw’s for the revo 2.0 and the sledge for the center drive shafts wonder if m2c can make better ones for them would help great video as always worth the wate have a great day man
Nice session Rich that's a bummer on the mini kicker ramp. If u find any send me the link I been looking all over for them. Thanks for the upload see ya in the next one ✌🏻✌🏻
Thanks so much Jordan 🤗. I managed to pop the plastic back into place and Gorilla tape the ramp 😂. I'll definitely share the link if I find replacements. Definitely in the market for new ones. 😎💪👊👊
Sick as usual I think a hobbystar 4585 1580kv or 1800kv Would be absolutely perfect Slightly smaller and lighter You should definitely try I would love to see it
Yes, I ran the 4076 1700 in my Tekno awhile back. It eventually overheated and gave out. Might try an 18T and go from there. Just depends on what kind of speed and wheelspin you're after.
Hey man I’m looking for help,my Xmaxx after My HS installed 1100kv and 54,29 now is blowing up diff ring gears, are u have or that happens to u or what I should change .thanks for the help in advance
I've only been through a couple ring gears and it was because either the diff cover or bulkhead had cracked allowing the gear to shift under power. I replaced the diff cover with a Hot Racing one and also Hot Racing alloy hinge pin plate (below the plastic skid plate) front and rear. That helps strengthen the bulkhead from the bottom. 🍻
@@richduperbash2966 waooo tanks man never tough u gonna answer,I’m a sub for sure but u giving me the help is awesome really thanks I will do it for sure ur advice.keep bashing and God Bless u and yours.is awesome chat whit u #LivinglegendDuperbash

Hey, are you using the existing ESC chassis plate and ESC top plate (on top of the motor mount) m2c items? Or are the items you are using as ESC and receiver plates part of m2c’s beta testing/not released yet please? Cheers!!
The motor mount, ESC mount, and center diff plate (where the reciever box was bolted to) are all M2C parts that replace the stock bits. They're soon to be available on the M2C Racing website. The 4mm 7075 T6 chassis is available already. In essence, M2C has transformed what is possible with the Sledge. 🍻😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 thanks for answering me, I wanted to ask you for advice x since I don't jump, I just need more speed for you, which ratio is suitable ? without heating of course
@@nicolomasto7628 my temps have been good. You typically gain around 3 mph per tooth gain with the pinion. You'll have to experiment and keep tabs with your temps using an infrared temp gun. Above 160F motor is getting toasty.
Thank you Brother 🤗. Appreciate the suggestions. I had previously used JB Weld Plastic bonder and it held quite well on the underribbing. Hopefully I can find some new ramps before long. 🍻
Just curious, did you tune the esc by any chance, like punch or something? I got pretty much everything as identical as yours but it can barley do a backflip.
Yes, I turned my punch up to max 5. Make sure to calibrate your controller to the ESC under throttle setup to assure you're getting full throttle, brake...etc. On that note, if reverse seems faster than expected, it's possible the motor direction is reversed. I've had that happen before where I had to reverse motor direction and reset the controller direction too. 😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 I have v2 widemaxx got a max 6 esc and there 2200kv motor it does rip as well to be fair but this looks like where I'll be heading next I've vitavoned pretty much everything other than bulkheads too so it's a tank but I'm impressed by this thing not much has been impressing me more than what I have but this definitely caught my eye
In the stock position, I simply replaced the VXL for the Max6 with 30lb mounting tape and a zip tie (made a small cut in the bottom plastic to fit the tie under). For the reverse motor mount set-up, I bolted my Max6 onto this M2C ESC mount up front. m2cracing.net/shop/shop.php#!/M2C-1452-REVERSE-MOTOR-MOUNT-KIT-FOR-S-SERIES-TRUCKS/p/488858460/category=136127921
Man I just love seeing all the Arrma parts on the Ol crapaxxas Sludge! Probably be easier n cheaper to put a sludge body on a 6s Kraton exb n call it done! 🤣😂
Same setup I run in my EXB. Doesn’t run cool at all when I really run it hard. It doesn’t go above 170 or so. Can’t make up my mind about whether to get one of these or not
None of the electronics run cool when you run really hard. I've found the 4985 to be more efficient than my Hobbystar 4092's though, especially in hot weather. The Sledge drivetrain feels smoother than the EXB (in my opinion). Tough call on getting a Sledge 🤔. Definitely an expensive venture to make solid. It is a pretty tough truck, but an M2C chassis and mount is a must for harder bashing. 😎💪👊👊
I'm running a 23T pinion with 50k front, 20mil center, and 20k rear diff. Also running M2C pistons with 80-100 weight shock oils if I remember correctly.
Hey since you have had this motor combo for a little while now, what is the best gearing combo for this set up? Still the 46t spur and 23t pinion? Let me know thank you. I am currently running the same set up in my sledge.
Hey Tim 🤗. I really like the 23/46 setup with Backflip LP's. I'd say 22T if running any larger diameter wheels. So far my temps have been good despite bashing in 100+F weather and bone dry powdery dirt. 🍻😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 ok cool thank you, also I just got the 50t vitavon spur.. what pinion would you recommend to use with the 50t? I was thinking maybe a 20t? Let me know thanks man
@@timbootz8894 if you’re looking at a 2:1 ratio between spur and pinion, with a 50t spur, your pinion would be 25, which I think is quite large considering the available and adjustable space on the sliding motor mound. You should be good with a 20-23t pinion when running 50t spur. Monitor temps and cogging as that may affect your gearing choices. I run 22/50 on my Fireteam with Max 6 4985 combo and it runs incredibly smooth. My sledge is 20/46.
Is there any reason to get this, if you have a kraton exb? I got an exb with same motor set up and it just seems to me, that the 2 trucks are too alike.
The Kraton EXB is still my favorite when compared to the Sledge. The Sledge does handle differently, perform impressively, and take a great beatdown with the proper upgrades. The transmission feels slightly smoother in my opinion, but the added cost to buy and upgrade the Sledge over a K6s EXB is significant and it's debatable if there's any or enough reason to make that choice. 🍻😎💪👊👊
The Backflip LP's are the smaller 4s version. Don't have my manual handy for the part #'s at the moment. They're 6s Kraton steering links. 🍻 www.ebay.com/itm/193098541726?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=193098541726&targetid=1262749490102&device=m&mktype=&googleloc=9032466&poi=&campaignid=15428034462&mkgroupid=133947154481&rlsatarget=pla-1262749490102&abcId=9300763&merchantid=113678668&gclid=Cj0KCQjw2_OWBhDqARIsAAUNTTGYqqWWMOzX0Gyz0qEqHR9FATYEun6JBGjvtNoYzERN4qQBp3bHZW4aAu_kEALw_wcB
Why does anyone treat expensive toys like that. They turn out to be money Pits instead of enjoyment unless you have an issue and just need to destroy things.
The great thing about our hobby is choosing how to use your stuff. What's fun for you, might be boring for me and vice versa. I'm a parts tester and developer for M2C Racing. Been at it since they first started designing parts for bashing years ago. Proper durability testing requires proper stresses are placed on prototype parts prior to mass production. 🍻
