Edit from anywhere in real time with LucidLink! Today I'm showing you my remote editing setup and how to ingest a live stream into LucidLink to create a growing file, so an editor on the other side of the world can be editing that footage in real time. These edit while ingest workflows are super powerful and when you take them up into the cloud with LucidLink, you open a whole new world of remote real time editing and collaboration possibilities.

Hey! I know this video is a bit old, but i've found that I was able to get Growing Files to work in DaVinci Resolve from OBS. You'll have to enable the "auto refresh growing files" setting in Resolve, then set the Recording Format in OBS to "Fragmented MOV (.mov)." Using H.264 and AAC as my video and audio codecs seemed to work well for me, although Resolve & OBS seems to have a buffer of around a minute before new data is added onto the growing file, so it's not as fast as the method here via Premiere Pro, but at least I can finally start using my Speed Editor for assembling lol

This is very helpful. I am in the process of revising my workload to start delegating the editing. This seems to be a great option to streamline that process.

@AlexPettitt Will do. Does the other party also require a license? Or just the host?

@@DissertationAcademyjust the host. The host can set up user accounts for anyone else that they want to be able to access their filespace

What would be the recommended internetspeed to use LL? Not every location has fiber.

Good question, it very much depends what you’re looking to do with it. For example, editing multicam 4K video is going to require a lot more than simple 1080p projects. But to use the live stream example from this video, the stream was being encoded at 15mbps, and my upload speed was 20mbps. So as long as my remote editor has a download speed of at least around the same, it would work fine :)

Could this work with something like movie recorder in a live broadcast setting where you can record multple sources simultaneously and have them uploaded so remote editors can work with growing files?

In theory I believe the answer is yes, you just need to be mindful of your recording bitrate vs upload speed :)
