What wonderful customer service from Andrew. I could tell that you were pleased when you started to run through the gears. Keep up the great work and stay safe out there.
Thanks for the information on this video. I did an N5600 swap this past summer. The Trans had roughly 200,000 miles when I bought off this guy. I inspected the gears through the PTO covers, and they seemed fine. After installation, you have to push hard to get into gear. I have a southbend single disk clutch rated for 425 hp, 900 torque. I did save Andrew's website information for future purchases since I live up in that area of Spokane.
I commented awhile ago about a 12v being my dream truck for a long time, well last week I got a 96 12v auto it's 2wd but in pristine condition for the price I got it! I tow a travel trailer full time and am going to start forum searching for good towing upgrades for it to last me! It's not exactly my dream truck being 2wd and an auto but it's still a 12v, dream would be a 2nd Gen 12 manual long bed. I wish I knew these trucks better so I could do the upgrades perfectly done, but I'll get er done!
That's the weight I always heard. I have done pretty much all the work on my 04, but when it comes time to put a clutch in, I'm real tempted to have someone else do it.
Im picking up my buddies 99 24v in a week. Giving me a deal for 8k on it. 6in fox lift with carli coilovers long arms new 37's and he just got the trans built to a stage 3. Besides that motorwise its bone stock. Veery excited
Hey Sam, although I have a 2018 Ram DRW, as with this video and a lot of others that you do this stuff is way over my head but I always get something out of them. On top of that it's always just cool to see 2 good old boys working together with a common goal that know there Sh** and respect quality and doing things the right way!
I just swapped my 98 12v to NV5600 that was rebuilt by Andrew, good dude, great service. Glad to see him on your channel. I went through a nightmare after buying two different 5600's that were junk, and I was able to send them both to him and he gave me a great deal on a working one in return. Easy peasy.
This video came the perfect time!! I been wanting to swap my 1st gen getrag to a nv5600 and i was kinda on the fence with Cody at Super stick transmissions. Id rather give the business to him he knows his stuff and puts the time into making quality transmissions. plus i buy all my transfercase parts and rebuilt my whole getrag from Torque king so i trust them.
That is so cool!! I just love to see/hear about real hard working people dedicated to their craft! That's how this country was built, and I respect them to the max!! I know I said it, but that tranny is so cool, like a jewel!! I'll be 72 next month, and I'd like to do 1 more project. An HD hot rod, w/a 5.9 Cummins and 6 speed, big truck rear end front straight axle. Oversize T-bucket and a REO truck front radiator cover!! I might have a line on a Dodge 2.5T tow truck, 5.9 manual 4X2 starting point! We'll see, but things like that really sweet tranny gets me excited!! Thanks Sam, great video!! --gary
Great Video with you and Andrew. I came across your channel yesterday and Andrew the day before. I was looking for recommendations for tranny fluid. I have the 2004, 3500 4x4 LB SRW that I bought a few months back for towing a 5th wheel trailer I plan to buy in a few months when I retire. I saw one of your videos demonstrating hard shifting, and the town you were driving through looked so familiar. Nevada City, Grass Valley area. It has been 30 plus years since I've been there. Grew up in Baxter.
Your videos are awesome. Got question my 2000 5.9 when engine is cold at highway speeds kinda cuts out. Throttle percentage drops and engine gets more of a rattling sound. Fuel pressure is good once engine is warmed up runs perfect. I am suspecting iat sensor or maybe throttle sensor. Figured you might have some insight on this thanks
Nice video, I hope u can help me: After i replaced the transmission fluid on my 2000 dodge ram NV5600 i drove maybe 20 miles and the transmission start leaking fluid on top where the shifter is, and before never leak a drop, what is the reason to leak now? i will apreciate if yo can help me. tks
For brass synchronizer, I suggest Pennzoil synchromesh, or Valvoline Synchromesh. The premium synthetics also work, but I find the conventional synchromesh works smoother.
