The more balanced criticisms levelled here are well written. He does jump from one thing to another, and (I bet) so do most people in life. I hear enough of it with new clients who talk about how they had a good run of hypertrophy training in the gym, but then changed for another discipline, got bored, came back, so on so forth. The difference is Tom documents it all, so he's very much open to being criticised - which is fair enough. Needless to say I myself needed some time away from bodybuilding before coming back to it. We're dynamic creatures, things change, we have different and new feelings, in some cases we discover we've got a health condition to tackle. I couldn't think of many things worse than being the exact same person year on year on year to be honest. Tom is obviously taking a militant approach to nutrition here, and truthfully not actually suggesting no one should ever consume ultra processed. But I dare say we could all benefit from moving more towards it. As for the gear comments, it's a bit like comparing apples and pears. I also highly doubt Tom's doing any damage at all by hovering in a physiological range with his test use, except maybe long term exposure to any heavy metals within the oil. But just know that the best, most engaged content often takes a polarising stance, causes uproar, increases views. Hence why he slagged off a whole Emirate for its materialism and lack of substance after seeing approx 0.1% of it (whilst flying business and carrying Louis Vuitton luggage...). Fantastic video though my friend, I'll be having the potato and mince tonight, and perhaps even the chicken and rice meal tomorrow ❤
I change and pivot more than anyone. I fully understand putting info online regarding a current time in your life, opens yourself to criticism when things inevitably change. A small percentage of us are just bored with people saying they’ve cracked the code simply by eating whole foods and going back to nature. A few of us have been saying this for years without the ivory tower vibes. It’s not even a bad video and the more people start eating like a normal human, the better. It’s really difficult to project tonality when discussing online. Not every negative comment is a criticism just as every compliment isn’t an arse lick. The more adult conversations, the better. Take care :)
Yes I totally get the “things change” and “not being the same person every year” but Tom just criticises people’s way of living very publicly and then does exactly what they do 6 months later hoping no one will notice. Check the rest of the comments, people agree. I’m not the only one who’s noticed
@@CT1096_Exactly. I understand everyone changes but it’s the extremes and tonality in which it’s expressed. It’s cool to see peoples journeys on how they evolve etc, but as a viewer it’s hard to stay engaged with someone who seems to have a whole new personality every few months
Imagine all the different versions of tmcycles, though his many trends just contradicting and arguing amongst themselves got into a room together, it would be like that Spider-Man meme.
I do like Tom and agree with his message here. However the way he has presented his thoughts/feelings etc in recent months in general comes across so badly - usually sat in his kitchen ranting at his phone and picking on people - all against a backdrop of him back on steroids (which are far more damaging for your health) and in a cost of living crisis
Biggest hypocrite about Used to hate on hybrid athletes/runners then became one Used to hate on gymshark then proceeded to wear their clothing hoping for a brand deal Used to be on gear, came off then said how much better / healthier the natty life was and then hopped back on Used to eat ‘processed’ foods/preworkouts and now totally against them bcos he’s hopped on the trend again 💀
Moves with the trends. Give it 6 months and he’ll be on to something else. Nothing wrong with that of course. It’s common sense single ingredient whole foods are best.
@@TMCycles Quite the literal sense as it pertains to anabolics. You can eat ultra processed food or you can shop at waitrose and take gear the choice is yours champs. I've had to take a good look at current diet at and 'clean' it up, the bulks now just become an excuse to indulge to frequently.
@@TMCycles you blocked me 2 years ago for telling you about seed oils and how catastrophic they are for our health. Berating me in the dms instead of hearing me out. Then gave yourself ulcerative colitis. Take a look in the mirror man, seriously.
Sorry Tom, way off on this one, biggest fad dieter ever. Dare I say jumping on the Eddie Abbew trend after trying to slate him for saying don’t eat whey protein.
Online coaches deem it unrealistic to not consume UPF. Creates full day of eating video. Is deemed ‘way off’. As for this being a ‘trend’ I’ve unfortunately drawn the short straw and ended up with a lifelong condition. Am I saying people need to eat as militant as I do? No. Should people be more careful about UPF consumption? Yes.
Awesome video Tom. On the comments calling you a hypocrite, I think the honesty in how your opinions have grown over time from something you may not have once liked to seeing how and why you’ve changed your mind is testament to how you are one of few realists in the industry who don’t sugar coat things even if it may cause backlash within their community. You have definitely changed over the last 4-5 years in a vast amount of ways from when I first started watching you but applaud you for keeping it real even if it upsets others.
You’re saying people are getting triggered but they have a point. You were spamming the “pwotein puddings “ and the carrot cake whey desserts more than anyone. All love of course but you’re so sarcastic if anyone points these things out.
Guys on roids again now so he has developed a god complex which is clear to see. Thing with these youtubers they have short memories and give it 3 month they will contradict themselves then go on the defensive. Shame coz I really do like tom and his content hopefully he doesn't go full prat mode
@@dt937 How many months are we giving it before these people start talking about how balance is ok and back on the pwotein puds lol. Lots of people on their high horses, believing they’re groundbreaking but just following the current theme
I’m not disagreeing, I actually totally agree with a lot of points regarding how it can be seen as hypocritical. I was young, naive, egotistical. I put my life on social media, I have done so for the last 12 years, what I say today maybe different to what I say next year. People develop, grow, transcend. As for the sarcasm, it’s just my way of playing
@@dt937it’s not contradiction, it’s realisation, sometimes judgement and decision making is clouded, don’t take my actions to heart, there’s no god complex, my ego has very much faded and for the first time in my life I feel very free and happy

I get the impression you want ultra-processed foods to be the root cause of your heath issues because it's something you have control over, which is fair enough but not a great platform from which to slag off people advocating eating a Twirl every now and then
Maybe should have made it clearer, at no point have I or do slag people off for the occasional twirl bar, this was directed at coaches who deemed it unachievable to consume no UPF, a simple day of eating without it
Injecting steroids but me eating a protein pudding is bad 😂 No need for the condescension.. not everybody has gut or digestive issues, what doesn't work for you may work perfectly well for others
@@robb9658don’t be so triggered, I’m fully aware not everyone has gut problems, but since my diagnosis it’s opened my eyes to the escalating issues surrounding gut function & health, today’s video was an insight into how achievable it is to go through a day without the use of UPF
@@TMCycles I'm not triggered mate, but let's not pretend you wouldn't still be eating all of the processed "shit" you're talking about if you didn't have digestive issues, you can't turn around now and all of a sudden act like you're better than everyone else because you eat a bit of organic grub. It's out of necessity not a sudden spark of enlightenment
@@robb9658 you’re a smart bloke, you know full well it’s all with a tongue in cheek when referencing Waitrose, organic food etc. The necessity has sparked the enlightenment, I’m oddly grateful for the colitis diagnosis as aside from the food I’ve seen a big shift in my being
Love this video from you Tom, I've Switched to a healthier lifestyle after fluctuating for years. Cutting out the processed shite planning meals for the week and eating whole foods. Lost 64kg in a year, when people ask what Diet I'm following I just tell them its a lifestyle change not a diet. Keep preaching it brother!
Of course you do - bulk make them, freeze some of it. It ends up being, healthier and better for gains! If you have a really good job pay someone else to do it for you
This is almost like watching a breakdown in real-time. This is worse than a born again vegan that won’t stop droning about meat being murder. Just chill, Tom. We are here for lifestyle and training, the majority of us don’t have gut issues and aren’t affected by the things your affected by. Your insta has been mad over it recently.
Food is important, but I would say the biggest change in society compared to years ago is the internet. Find it weird how everyone just ignores that. 30 years ago no one was connected to everyone else's opinion 24/7. Which means are lot more mental rest, which is just much better for the body. I'd argue the big reason process food is popular is because people are on the internet so much they can't be arsed to cook.
Changing a position on something is fine and if it's due to being more informed on a subject even better. I don't believe that is the criticism people have of you. What irks people is the dismissive and misplaced arrogance you displayed in the past to people who disagreed with your position.
Tough act in the comments here. RU-vidrs literally just document their lives for us to watch. You can't be hard pressed by them changing their lifestyles acting like you've never gone from one phase to another yourselves
I am the same as Tom. Started enhancement years ago and was all in IIFYM/flexible dieting with 80/20 rule in mind. I find myself wanting to eat very healthy now , espesxially since finding Paul saladino. Not sure why people are hating on Tom, he’s a G. And when you’re enhanced you are naturally more health inclined with lifestyle / fitness / nutrition because you know in the back of your mind you have to be due to having ran enhancement
@@Userpk7193my current concern is the management of my ulcerative colitis through drug intervention and diet, I’m on a physiological dose of testosterone
So I take it every single one of your online clients is now prescribed a 100% whole foods, non UPF, low gluten, organic, nitrate free diet? If not then as you say they must be a child & lack discipline & want to promote neuro degenerative diseases, autoimmune diseases, mental health conditions, etc. If the above is correct in their case then is this something you tell them on their check in feedback?
I think you maybe getting your wires crossed, the above referencing was when mentioning online coaches that deemed it acceptable to consume UPF on a daily basis - but yes, we’ve had a very positive shift in their dietary adjustments which has been met only with positivity. Infrequent, UPF consumption in moderation is as I’ve continually stated acceptable, but noticeably, even when in the position where they’d be allowed to consume it, due to the feeling since being off it, it’s met with avoidance
Hey Tom enjoy your videos and I watched your videos for a few years and I wonder if your ulcerative colitis make it more challenging when you go out drinking, restaurants or raves etc. I’m guessing it does and if so what do you do or what have you changed before and after your diagnosis?
Demonizing processed food after being diagnosed which a gut issue? What about the fact that you consumed various pre workouts (with a list of ingredients longer than any processed food) for years? Or taking componds like yohimbine on a long term basis? Not to mention taking anabolic steroids for years on end without coming off? Nah don't worry about those, blame processed food.
Shame really because i get the impression if you didnt get all your gut issues youd never started pushing this in what almost feels like jeslousy driven rage. The type of following this trend has gotten reminds me of vegan/omnivore kind of hatred which i just cant stand.. yes do your thing but theres no need to shove it down everyone elses throat in an attempt to guilt them into your way of life! I get Joes comment and clearly thisll be a high engager but i reckon youll find alot of your subs missing a normal good old vlog!
This 👏🏽 I was plant based for three years (felt amazing) but I wouldn’t go around saying anything as you hold yourself to never being seen with a burger again. Funnily enough I’m not plant based anymore. Putting stuff online obviously documents to the world how you’re feeling at a current time and opens yourself to criticism when things inevitably change. So there’s no hate, I’m not an influencer so I can’t resonate. I love it if these people are genuinely trying to help others, and I whole heartedly agree that single ingredient whole food trump anything else. It’s not rocket science and most of us learnt that years ago, it’s extremely obvious what humans are and aren’t supposed to eat. Just gets boring all these people playing the conspiracy theorist nutrition expert against big Pharma. Again, I am said conspiracy guy but the ivory tower vibes are getting insufferable.
@@HealthyWealthy808subject to scrutiny of course, but I think you’d be hard pressed to find a time on this channel where my recent findings or revelations on certain topics to do with food or lifestyle have ever been met with a demand for people to follow them The diagnosis of my colitis was most certainly a catalyst for the interest into how damning UPF is not only on the gut but cardiovascular & psychological health, I can assure you, this is of genuine concern. I wouldn’t wish what I’ve had to endure over the last 12 months on my worst enemy The arguments/debates I’m having with people are the same ones I experienced a few years ago, the only difference is I was on the receiving end of someone suggesting I lay off or at least reduce the frequency of UPF. My own naivety, ego whatever you want to label it was far too high at the time and their concern was met with scoffs
Hi tom, if you dont mind me asking, what are you using to now cook your stuff in? Many thanks mate, hope we win the derby tomorrow (fellow gooner here)
I understand the origin of this video, unlike the kids in comment section. Anyone with an unknown intestinal issue doesnt understand the severity of it. Messes with weight, appearance, skin, potentially life itself. The fat around the cheekbones is lost already, you used to be different in the face. It sucks, plus medication you take. So i understand the new approach on food because diet plays an insanely huge role for the maintenance of this. Better stool, better looking, less damage. I also mentioned years ago about supplements being detrimental but i stand by my opinion that they are not the reason for colitis. Colitis occurs from infection, period. It is something you have not found yet. It could be h. Pylori that is not found by ordinary test and only via pcr in the stool. It may be an STD that is not found in the urine and passes onto the intestines (yes, it happens). A simppe enterovirus wouldnt do all that. An HPV strain would. Want my opinion? Assess the intestinal walls via a proper colonoscopy (proper means they gotta literally check all the way up the small intestine and give photos, detailed report and even biopsies). Then pcr tests until you catch what it is. Otherwise risk it and get both meds for pylori and stds (it will mess with gut flora). There is no such thing as "ulcerative colitis disease". UC is found in pylori patients. And all this will cost you a lot of money, including prostate fluid PCRs for everything. And on top of that, hida scans, ct scans, blood tests to make sure nothing is messing up on the upper section of organs. My 2 cents. And god bless. This is NOT autoimmune. And the inflammation caused (that the meds you take try to tank) is caused for that very reason: infection. The body knows, it aint stupid. Ill give you an example: on one clinic, my blood work was normal within limits (wbc details). On another clinic, my lymphocytes and neutrophils showed shift. Done every month, same healthy greek diet, same time blood taken, fasted, morning. Yeah... one showed "all good". Another showed a clear reaction. Rbc, plt etc all same. Seek the root cause while continuing the clean food approach.
Out of curiosity, you seem more concerned over the foods you’re eating rather than the gear you’re blasting? Surely using your platform to push the ideology of the “safer way” of using PEDs would be better no? Or does that not get you views? You’re a smart man Tom, and many can see what you’re doing, however forcing this down peoples necks for views isn’t a good look.. I guess we’ll wait a few months for the next trend.
Maybe you're new? For the last 10 years, both on Instagram & RU-vid, I've been covering the "safe" way to administer anabolics. I too am not blasting, 150mg per week keeps me in a physiological range and blood work confirms lipids, kidney, liver all in a good spot. Blood work isn't the Holy Grail so echocardiograms and DEXA scans done to view heart function and visceral fat (see Going Anabolic Ep.1) You say 'see what I'm doing' like this is part of some sort of masterplan, it's relatively simple - diagnosed with UC last year, spent the last year becoming a sponge as the NHS are useless, during that journey, found some pretty stark literature on the impact of UPF, using my platform to suggest alternatives and raise awareness, take it or leave it, completely up to you As for trend, I've been dealt a lifelong auto-immune disease, this is no trend
@@TMCycles I’ve followed you for a while, so i’m just speaking purely based off how y I see your content becoming now. You have UC, so of fine you’re going to eat like this, but telling everyone they should follow the same path? Let people live, life is too short to be looking at every single ingredient of every single product you pick up. Yes make more sensible choices, pick foods that digest well with you and don’t cause gastric stress, but at the same time enjoy a chinese in moderation? I see your points, but on your IG and now youtube, the way you’re going about it is poor. From a man who was critiquing Eddie Abbew from day one, to now jumping on the bandwagon because you can clearly see the interaction he’s gained, you’re better than that - as i’ve seen from your content over the years.
At what point have I told everyone to eat like I am? A coach, or multiple for that matter, suggested it's not feasible to not consume UPF within a diet, this was a full day of eating dispelling that I don't think there's been a time I've not stated moderation is key, I'm simply arguing against the daily use of UPF I appreciate the continued support, however, if you think I'm silver-backing off a man with little to no education on nutrition, you're highly mistaken. I stand by what I said about Eddie 1. Militant style eating is not sustainable 2. His demonisation of the role of insulin and how it governs fat loss. I do, as do many, agree with the message surrounding the importance of whole foods
@@TMCycles You called eating UPF part of the”bitch/bitcher? virus”. although we know it’s half joke, towards the end of the video you also disagreed with these so called coaches calling it balance. It wasn’t that long ago you were having carrot cake whey and Greek yoghurt macro fillers on the daily. No, you never told anyone to directly eat like this. But the boogy man big Pharma aren’t telling anyone what to eat either. You have an audience and you know people are going to be receptive. Saying people don’t have a “sense of humour” is cope in this situation. You could even argue against using a microwave on the anti poison campaign if you want to completely get away from endocrine disrupters etc.
I called coaches that deem it acceptable to consume UPF daily part of the virus I also, once again, stand by my point regarding balance, balance is not daily consumption of UPF Oh don't be so naive, no, Big Food aren't directly telling people what to eat, but you as well as I know how influential and powerful food advertising is and how it acts on the reward centre of the brain
Get an empty fry light spray (or similar spray bottle) and fill it with e.v. olive oil. Don't use fry light it's made from total garbage in comparison to proper olive oil
I for one love this kind of content so keep up The good work 🙌🏻 As humans we all evolve and learn along the way, it’s why we are no longer playing in mud and eating worms! It’s quite simple people, if you enjoy the content watch, learn and grow. Hi mate, loved this video as I’ve made big changes to my nutrition across the last year. Would be interested to know what alternatives you would have for the protein and carbs sources at the lunch and dinner dishes?
The comments are really sad. Some miserable people have been lurking like hyenas waiting to bring this guy down. TMCYCLES SAID X 7 MONTHS AGO AND NOW HES SAYING Y. This channel is a continuous journey of growth, go look at his vids a year ago he's on a journey. Let him cook.
These comments brought great happiness to my morning People’s ability to take your views so personally & feel attacked never ceases to amaze me Watching this whilst drinking a Coke Zero laughing my head off Keep cycling, change your opinion whenever you see fit, fuck the Mayweathers, Love ya ✌🏼
Nooice. A similar video where you pretend you work a 9-5 and how you would do a weekly prep on the Sunday would be a good one mate. Are you drinking whey? That's the only processed thing I can't cut
Fair play Tom, a lot of hateful comments getting sent left right and centre. Just wanting to better yourself and educate people on how to better themselves when it comes to their nutrition. Yes it’s trending however you can’t argue the facts. Toms a perfect example of someone who suffers with a UC condition and decided to do something about it and not only that is giving people education on how to prevent it from happening to them later down the line and promote a better way of living. Firm Handshakes 🤝
Mental how everyone’s so pressed🤣 Surely the message of eating whole foods is a good one? Even if it does go against what he’s said previously. If Toms changing of diet has yous like this, then stop watching him? And the Waitrose bit was jokes, lighten up a bit
Fuck all the hate , as we age, as we grow, we become more aware, more enlightened. You’re on the right path now mate, you know that. So f^k what anybody else thinks. Although I’m sure you do take these opinions with a grain of salt anyway! 👏🏼
TM, I wish it didn't take you getting ulcerative colitis for me to start putting a little bit more thought into my food choices, but here we are. Thank you for the kick up the arse.
Great video, Tom. Personally, I ‘got’ the humour, and find it comical some people have taken offence. It has been interesting to see some of your viewpoints change, UPF all day every day, back in your IIFYM days, to now eradicating them in light of your diagnosis. One question I wanted to ask, I remember back in 2017 when Trump was elected, you made a video slating him, has your viewpoint on Trump and/or politics in general changed in the last few years? Genuinely curious.
