Here is my 6 month review of the Ultra Vision Nitro Maxx LED Driving Light Lightbars. I have the Nitro Maxx 305 in the warm 4000k option on the roof and the NitroMaxx 205 with the whiter 5700k on the bull bar of my Landcruiser 105 Super Tourer and have used them now on a Fraser Island, a 10.000km Canning Stock route trip as well as 3 weeks cross country in the Simpson, Strzelecki and Tirari Desert. Find out how I rate the Ultra vision Lighting Light Bars

Gyday Stefan, Great review. I have had the 205 for a few months now (replaced a RI single row) and am absolutely blown away by the all round performance , nice spread and plenty of distance for my liking. Also on the plus side after sales support has been good too👌🏻 Keep up the great work! Cheers

Hi Stephan I’ve been binge watching your videos. Thanks awesome content at a nice pace for me with great relevant commentary. I watched the CSR series tonight. Regarding your lights. I think the 300 watt unit will draw more like 25 amps Wattage divided by voltage = amperage 300/12=25

For anyone budget conscious but like a really robust led either light bar or spots check out road vision Australia, I was told they’re just a cheaper version of great white au, outa Victoria, had a 22in bar on my top hoop and two 7in spots under on bull bar and was getting well over 900m of useable light, they even have curved bars in their range, IP68 rated and saved me heaps $$$$ on my last 4wd which was over 3yrs constant highway and off-road use no problems, love the vids mate and thanks for sharing your knowledge

Sounds like a winner to me...top quality and Aussie made. The perfect combination. Gear that is strong enough to stand up to our tracks is not easy to come by...

yes 100% most overseas companies don't understand that there can be hundreds and sometimes thousands of KM of corrugation

I’ve been using UltraVision lights for years. I even got Jason from ultravision to custom make my lightbar a few years ago and it still going strong. I think it was one of the first of the Nitro max range. Also got a couple of nitro 120 max driving lights unbelievable

Not a budget light bar so definitely not for everyone but if you into the best money can buy and on top of that Australian designed and manufactured there is no way around the Ultravision Lights. The light output and spread and beam combination are excellent and the best light bars I have had so far. If they last now for +5 years it seems to be a well worth investment. What do you think?
@shanevonharten3100

For that money they better last more than 10yrs

Hey Stefan great review and certainly a great Aussie product! Have you considered mounting the 305 bar on the roof lower i.e. closer to the roof of the cruiser? This would reduce the bonnet glare quite a bit I imagine
@AlloffroadAu
@AlloffroadAu 4 года назад
Good idea may have to look in to a bracket to lower it a bit, ideally it should be 10cm further back

Hey Stefan, Have you thought of painting your bonnet a matt silver or even better a matt black to cut out the glare? nice vids, your doing great.

Not really a bit to much effort for a light bar

I have been very interested in buying one of the 205 bars for myself but after this demo I am not sure if it is better than what I am running now. Does it perform better in person? I am just wondering if it is because it is on video and it doesn't show it properly. I am running Gen 3 22 inch Hard Korr bar and it seems to produce more light than what the 205 shows in this video. Also thanks for taking the time to do a review, not many around especially on the 205

I find it never really shows in video, but I also noticed yesterdays that to roof and front mounted light bar where slightly angled down (corrugation) so i readjusted them now (the roof bar was around 2-3 degrees down). I find the bar a fair bit better then the 200w Stedi I had before.

What about putting a flat alloy or stainless plate under the roof light protruding forward slightly from the base of the light to cast a shadow over your bonnet?

Yes mate that’s in also in my mind but haven’t tested that yet.

Hi John, I have had a set of Ultra Nitro 140W round spotties on my Prado for the past 18 months. I chose the Widr Beam (less range but wider beam) in the warmer 4000K temperature colour. I really rate them. They're not cheap but, in my opinion, they're worth it. They give a good 800+m of usable light but excellent spread up front lighting up the sides of the road which is important in the winding kangaroo/wombat country around my home area. The warmer colour reduces the flare from roadside signs but you still get a bit of it because you're pushing out a lot of light. If I had to replace them, I'd get exactly the same lights. Hope that helps.

@@leeobe Hi Lee, I have a similar usage requirement to you - very windy country road around home that has those large yellow alpine road curve signs, kangaroos and wombats. In this area I really only need to see out to 100-200m with good side vision more important than distance ahead. Two years on from your comment, would you still rate your 140W Widr beam spotties well in this sort of environment, or would you consider a light bar that pushes light out towards the side more? I currently have the 180W round version of what you have, but without the Widr beam, and it's far too strong and narrowly focussed, blinding me with glare off the signs while I can't see the road edges around curves. So I rarely use them! I've been looking at the Ultravision light bars (205W shown in this video), and also at Ultravision's beam pattern images to try to understand what they will output off to the side. From those images they don't appear to have much more side spread than the 140W Widr spotlight you have, even though they have 4x Widr lenses compared with 2x in your lights.

Wow that bonnet must be blinding at night, if you mounted it lower you may be able to cast a shadow over bonnet from the roof, thats how mines mounted
@AlloffroadAu
@AlloffroadAu 4 года назад
It’s not to bad actually but could be better I agree. Would need to make some custom brackets can’t be mounted lower as there is already hardly any access to bolts.

They come with anti theft bolts which were a pain to install on my truck due to space constraints below, needed to make a special tool.
