One interesting thing for me, Minos *only* says "Useless" after a respawn, but not from a mission restart, implying that he knows that you have the ability to come back after death, but he still beats the shit out of you anyway.
Gabriel also opens with a taunt after respawns (albeit not with a unique one) during both fights IIRC. I wonder if this will tie into what Hakita mentioned at one point about there being a lore reason for you getting locked in arenas.
@@kveller555 He did say that Hell is somewhat sentient, which would explain why enemies teleport in and how V1 is able to proceed to the next layer so easily.
And you cannot even blame him for trying to kill you, he is Minos after all and his job is to judge people and send them to their layer and of punishments, as a machine you have no soul but still find yourself inside hell and therefore shall be judged for the crimes commited against humanity
All of the voicelines 1:30 Cutscene 1 end 1:55 Cutscene 2 end 1:58 "I end this now" 2:04 "Die" 2:08 "Prepare thyself" 2:12 "Judgement" 2:18 "Useless" 2:20 "Crush" 2:21 "Weak" 2:22 A ton of grunts 2:25 Unholy sounds
Now I want a Order (OST) version where his combat lines is in this version like if it was in-game. Because I love both his voice lines and his theme song is awesome but its even better with him shouting "JUDGEMENT!"
"Creature of steel, my gratitude upon thee for my freedom. But the crimes thy kind have committed against humanity are not forgotten. And thy punishment... is *death* ." So the machines destroyed humanity?
It's not entirely clear. First of all, he can refer not to humanity in general, but to destruction of Lust level of Hell, which he rebuilt himself (although that was done by Gabriel, and he isn't a machine I guess). Second, there are testaments from God stating that humans were a mistake and should be eradicated. It's possible that God was a machine himself, it also possible that he and probably his angels were something else entirely and just used machines to destroy humanity.
@@DrNiradino Kinda eh on the part about V1’s slaughter across hell. But the connection between V1 and V2 having angelic designs and god potentially being a machine is pretty cool. It’d be insane actually at the end it turns out we’re god and wiping out the remnants of humanity. Just unaware that we are.
it impresses me that not only do we have the guy who does impressions of Caleb from Blood in this game, but also the guy who actually voiced Caleb as well. I need to play this game more often.
I love his voice. Full of inarguable drama and power, steadfast regality and nobility. You can HEAR the Kingliness in his voice, how it gushes with royalty. Yet at the same time, it's like a spoonful of caramel littered with bits of crunchy peanut... smooth, but *just* rough enough to sound gravelly. But that gravel is the ground you step upon, and it rumbles as he speaks. I know I'm getting into such detail that it's practically intimate, but DAMN does he have such an awesome voice... it elicits a feeling of sublime. Gabriel is much the same for me, only with less royalty... which is perfect for his character - and I love it, don't get me wrong.
ah free at last oh gabriel now dawns thy reckoning and thy gore shall glisten before the temples of man creature of steel my gratitude upon thee for my freedom but the crimes thy kind have committed against humanity are not forgotten and thy punishment is death ah free at last oh gabriel now dawns thy reckoning and thy gore shall glisten before the temples of man creature of steel my gratitude upon thee for my freedom but the crimes thy kind have committed against humanity are not forgotten and thy punishment is death (different voice) (moans) forgive me my children for i have to failed to bring you salvation from this cold dark world (die) thy end is now thy end is now (different voice) die die (different voice) prepare thyself prepare thyself (different voice) judgment judgment (different voice) useless crush weak (ouch) (ouch 2) (ungodly moan) (ungodly moan 2) (ungodly moan 3)
*Minos Prime. Voiced by Stephan Weyte. Voicelines with timestamps* *Free from the Flesh Prison* 0:00 and 0:44: " Ah... Free at last. O Gabriel. I like how there’s two takes for minos’s intro dialogue. Idk when Minos was added in, but I feel Hakita had the VA redo the voicelines to sound more impactful. Either that, or the “weaker” sounding dialogue is used for the lower difficulties.
i swear that there are only 10 that happen in the actual fighting phase. I've heard them so many times when fighting him. It took me 2 hrs and 243 tries
I love how every voice line of Minos is powerful but composed, except for Weak. The fucking insult, and despising can be heard, as If he slipped up control. My favourite line of his
If I had a nickel for everytime Stephen Wayte voiced a godly entity with a hole in it's what to be assumed face for a newblood game, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, bit it's weird that it happened twice.
@@huh0069 Then as the man said, it does belong to Minos. It just sounded an awful lot like the Insurrectionist to me, but then again everything is always far too loud for me to notice these details
The sheer POWER and unfiltered EMOTION in his voice when he states “W E A K.” Sends rippling shivers down my spine, like eons of anger, regret, grief, vengeance, and mourning all compiled into just one single word statement, underrated voice line.
Ah... free at last. o'gabriel, now dawns thy reckoning, and thy gore shall glisten! before the temples of man! ...... Creature of steel, My gratitude apon thee for my freedom. but the crimes your kind has committed against humanity, are not forgotten! And thy punishment... IS DEATH!!! JUDGEMENT PREPARE THYSELF DIE USELESS WEAK THY END IS NOW
How to become Minos Prime in real life: "Prepare thyself!" Run towards someone and charge up a kick with you right leg, release it and follow up with an axe kick, then throw something at them. "Thy end is now!" Do 2 punches and then a chop sideways and a slam downward. "Die!" Step on top of a chair, shout "Die!" and then jump off on top of someone. "Crush!" Uppercut someone and then slam on them and then jump up and slam from above. "Judgement!" Get in the running position, dash towards someone and do a dropkick on them. Seeking snake: Throw something. Now if you wanna look like a complete lunatic while fighting go ahead and terrorise everyone in your path.
I love juxtaposition of chaos in the flesh prison fight and music, to the order in the Minos prime fight and music, with nearly all of his attacks being choreographed. Just shows how a boss doesn’t need to be unreadable to be hard.
