Today I will be showing you the in depth cleaning process for our walbro WT 990 carburetor using the ultrasonic cleaner. This is going to be the same for all WT & WA style carburetors on most rc engines found on losi, hpi, rovan, fg, redcat. Hi there. You are the first result I get when searching for a carb rebuild kit how to. I wish you had more Baja videos but I guess you blew yours up and moved on. Anyway since I don’t have an ultrasonic cleaner i think I will use alcohol and an air compressor. What do you think?

I’m still very much in the hobby just wasn’t very good at making videos, it’s super time consuming lol I wouldn’t use alcohol- carb cleaner spray or brake clean is more suitable. If you can’t get those soak the carb in some diesel fuel and then clean the diesel with alcohol and air.

@@OnefiveRc thanks. So alcohol is too rough for the sensitive diaphragms. I have kerosene. I guess that is similar to diesel fuel?

@@michaelinzitari if you’re not going to fully disassemble something with a pressurized sprayer is what you need to get into the crevices you need to get into. In my opinion unless you have a genuine walbro carb I would say just buy a new Amazon carb. A can of carb clean is like 10$ and a new amazon carb is like 20$ lol

@@OnefiveRc yeah I think I will just buy a clone carb for $20. My primer bulb is cracked, and I have no idea what condition the rest of the carb is in or what fuel was used. Easy decision

@@michaelinzitari for the price I would never rebuild a clone carb. A fake 990 slaps if you can get it tuned right
