Fair enough, I thought Equilibrium was okay, I can understand people loving it or disliking it. But Ultraviolet, I tried watching it for about 10 minutes and gave up.

Not straight to DVD, but very specifically straight to Blu-ray. Sony poured a ton of money into this movie and UltraViolet wasn’t supposed to be good, it was just supposed to look good and promote the new Blu-ray format. Even the name of the film is a reference to Blu-ray.

Jinpan Feather I noticed that too lol. But what the hell was it supposed to be about? It just looked dumb.

Pink Suicide No, it was created by Sony to be a Blu-ray launch title. The movie was basically multimillion dollar promotional material that was intended to be displayed in TV and electronic stores to show off how good Blu-ray players looked.

@@EnkarashaddamNot all the TVs, a few TVs would play standard DVDs with the color setting manually lowered to show off how amazing Blu-ray looked compared to DVDs. Best Buy still uses this type of tactic to help push the sales of hIgher priced HD 4K TVs.

Yeah me too. The comic book opening credits actually make a certain amount of sense, because the movie comes across as an adaptation of one.

Trust me, it was garbage. I made the mistake of seeing it in the cinema. It looked liked video graphics from the late 90's with a Vaseline smeared over the top.

pretty sure your the only person to say the Total Recall Remake and Point Break Remake is good the latter of which I think I read someone putting it best saying "go pro and red bull made a movie" and speaking of which he had nothing to do with the original point break so not sure why thats on the list

yes he is indeed, that was a mistake on my part the made up Thai-Hindi language is in the film but because I neglected to check correctly due to a variety of reasons the main one being I’m an idiot, I made an assumption and used that scene to talk about the made up language.

Hmm I would question the legitimacy of that, Mainly because when I've seen a film in the past that the "studio interfered with" you usually can see glimpses of what the film should've been but here there is zero inspiration, from the cinematography, to the basic composition of scenes, there is no redeeming quality here, simply put would the film be better if it was more philosophical as you say rather then action focused ? no absolutely not, simply because the acting is hilariously terrible and every aspect of world building is over produced and over thought like a particular edgy teenagers sketchbook.

@@deusdeaconReviews Well, I've looked it up and Wimmer did have a massive falling out with the studio where he pretty much left during post-production, which led to his denouncement of the film claiming it wasn't his vision. As for wether or not it would have been better if he had had his way and made it more philosophical like Equilibrium. That definitely remains to be seen. I personally doubt it to be honest. I assume the story we got in the film was still somewhat in line with Wimmer's vision and frankly it's just dull at best and outright stupid at worst. I also cannot imagine every single artistic decision was completely out of his hands either. For all we know maybe Wimmer's original intentions were actually so bad that is what led the studio to just go: "Fuck it. This film is unsalvageable. Just throw something together in the editing room so we can maybe get some of our money back." It would definitely explain the complete lack of care for even using remotely decent special effects since someone was probably just trying to save as much money as possible.

yes, interference to salvage a train wreck that Wimmer feels tampers with his "auteur vision" is the most likely scenario here I feel.

@@deusdeaconReviews Also no offense to Milla Jovovich but I don't see her as someone who could pull off a deeper film to be honest. I personally believe Equilibrium mostly worked because of its casting. Ultraviolet didn't have that.

Yupp would agree with that, maybe earlier on in her career she might have been able to do it, but not after years of Paul ws Anderson crap

if you have evidence of that ill give Milla a bit more respect however i personally cant find anything on that, and in fact all I see is the opposite

oh wait i think i may have found what your talking about BUT it’s not as good as it sounds “ Milla Jovovich has disowned the film, as she was disappointed on how it was handled by Sony” she and kurt wimmer weren’t happy with the re-edit but i can tell you now the edit sure as hell wasnt the problem with the film, they dont have a problem with the film and in fact want to be longer, yeah to hell with that.

@@deusdeaconReviews I saw this movie on "Sony Movie Channel Freeview=32" unless its gets moved to another number via retunes we have from time to time. I liked this film though it was bland at times could have been longer. I liked it but did not love it and did not hate it. Nightbreed by clive barker 1990 film you should research and review

I think it is more along the lines of you not understanding why you like the movie. Roll it around in your head a little while and try to realize that subjective opinions won't stop you from liking a bad movie or stop someone else from disliking one.

Because it was cheesy. It was bad. And it sucks!

It is only what it is, but what it is is up to the viewer. Interpretive dance is rarely good, but it can be effective to an individual, though it rarely caters to an audience as a whole.
