Love this stuff. I wish true fans would review videos like this. Heck even if any broadcasters would watch this and appear to have a clue when watching or announcing any games... we might have more informed fans and enjoy the games more.
Absolutely love this content. I just got back into officiating soccer after a 12-year hiatus, and in the two games I had this week, I found myself thinking about these lessons on finding the lane and moving with the play to always have the right angle, even if the sport is different. I was a linesman in both games and especially when the play was right in front of me (which isn't common on a big soccer field) I would step back from the line or shift positioning in some other way they would never teach in referee school, to make sure I had the best possible view to get the call right. So, from my sport to yours, thank you.
This would have been a great post BEFORE sectionals started. I had 3rd in 3U system on Thursday. 1st inning stolen base attempt on a 3-2 with R2 only. I got a late jump, ball beat runner soundly but I wasn't confident in my out call.
Your diagram, at :47, when the ball shoots through to right field, it shows U1 moving towards RF "going out"... why? This is a rotation, with U1 rotating home. Who's covering home if BR tries to advance there?
