From 1965 to 1974 I think the most kick-ass American muscle rides were made. The Plymouth Barracuda is one of my favorites.
Plymouth designs, especially their front fascias, have always fascinated me.
This particular release caught my attention because of... its story! LOL. Really, it sounded like a "fun" / "different" one from all of the other Cuda's I have in my collection. Story here:

Anyway, check the review to see if I like it and how I rated it. (or you can of course "cheat" and go to the end to see my Summary lol)

This would sit nicely beside your GMP Southern "Speed and Marine" GTX. But we need more new molds from these diecast manufacturers! I'd like to see a quality 1969 Firebird Trans Am, for example.

Totally agree. That's why I'm going to steer clear on color variations. I have a few pre-ordered already but after those, I'm done buying these... Hopefully will get others, maybe even older HW61s...

Hello. Thanks for your video. This is again an awesome muscle car model. Since today I own the 1:18 GMP 1971 Pontiac GTO "Judge" Convertible in gold. I am so happy with this one. I also own the 1:18 GMP 1970 Dodge Coronet in Mango orange. Is it only me or have the GMP models a little bit more details compared to the ACME models? In Germany I must pay about 30 euros more for a GMP model, but these are my favourit ones (funtional suspension, working windows,....). Best regards from Germany Chris

You are correct. A lot of GMP models are a higher tier than normal Acme releases. Those two you mention are definitely awesome releases! 💪💪

@@DiecastNewb Thanks for your respond. For sure, these two GMP models are really beautiful. The working suspension and the details on the radiator grills and so on are awesome. I already pre-ordered here in Germany the upcoming 1:18 GMP 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner "Graveyard Carz" in yellow. Until now I don't know the release date, but I am excited for this model. GMP did a really good job on their muscle cars :)

They could at least do some 72-74 'Cudas since they already tooled up the parts for the 72 Sox & Martin, and yellow street drag cars. I mean, why not make a few since they already have the molds for the grille, taillight panel, etc... Seems like a no brainer to me.

I vote for that!!! 🤷🏽😊

The wheels are the same as the Gurney Cuda AAR Trans Am racer tribute car as is that front spoiler. It's pretty much a release of that car using the Pro Stock hood tooled up for the drag versions. Well, except for the Hemi. Personally, I think the misaligned doors actually enhance this one. It's supposed to be a cobbled up mess. Tempted by it but I have too many on pre-order and need to stop. At least for a while.

Ahhhh I definitely don't have that particular Cuda! And yeah, I get that this is supposed to be a "custom crazy build", but still the gaps... I think have a couple more Cudas pre-ordered and then, I might just stop with the color variations lol. And agree, too many pre-orders! 😫😅 Need to prep the new room soon!

@@DiecastNewb 3 Cudas on pre-order, John Hagen's 68 Superstock, Arlen Vanke's 68 and the Bahama Yellow 340 ragtop from YCID. That one is the spitting image of the one down the street from me when I was a little kid in 1971. Assorted other Challengers and stuff too. And now Acme is releasing Gene Snow's 68 Hemi-Dart too. Got one free shelf and I can squeeze a few more in here and there. Problem is my collection is just like the Hotel California. They never leave.

😂😂 I hear ya. I need to reorganize my pre-order list because I'm not even sure if the list!!

the front fender/door gaps are HUGE!! what a shame to see that and it not acceptable in my opinion. So this model won't find a way into my collection even if it was half the retail price

Is it cool? Yes. But definitely not perfect. And indeed, that's the biggest con on this one. Crazy gaps. And like I mentioned, you could say it's part of the "story" for this particular release but the mold is probably getting worse by now
