These prices are ridiculous for such a basic technology. The whole 3 axis slider setup costs 3800€ that It's more than a Sony A7 IV!

@syrplab @manfrotto how do I get the rope to retract back in. I only want the rope out far enough for the slider length I’m using. Not have 6ft rope out on a 3ft slider

The qr plate lock lever snapped on mine. I see the part is available at the top of the list on Manfrotto’s site. Is replacing it user serviceable? Thanks

I’ve bought two of these so far and both times the quick release lever have broken…why not use metal instead of cheap plastic for the most important part of the device?

looks great but is that really how loud it is? I thought this version was supposed to be much quieter?

Hi Jens, it's much quieter than the Genie 1/2 as quiet at the same speed. You're probably hearing it at top speed when using hte joystick, the slower you go the quieter it gets.

How do you use the Genie II on the Slingshot?

Hi, Yes Genie II Linear works with the slingshot exactly the same way as the original Genie does. With Genie II you do not need the Slingshot linear plate you just screw in the GII Linear straight on top and then attach rope to either end. Hope that helps, let me know if you need more info.

I have the shark s1 slider from ifootage and the straps aren't big enough to mount the rope ties. I had to go and order a magic carpet

How do I remove the Genie II Linear drive from the slider/carriage? Mine seems to be stuck.

you can just unscrew it directly. Suggest to remove the rope drive using the Quick release then unscrew the linear. Also there is a black wheel on the side that you can turn to unscrew.

Hi Syrp! In this unboxing i see 2c usb ports. But my genie has 1 usb c port? Whats the difference? Also in the box no linkcable adapter.......Strage isn't it? Please advise!

We made a change in the design and decided to include a shutter port (the hole, instead of a USB c port) and 1 USB C port. For this reason, you will no longer need the adapter cable. You can connect the cable directly to the Genie 2 Linear now :)
