just got a hyper vs2 .30 engine version myself mate, its a real powerful bit of kit, just buying upgrades now. you wont be disappointed with this car mate :)
Great review Vas! The Hyper VS has always been an awesome buggy and being a 1/8th scale buggy fan boy this kit is no different. The original VS was a great handler and quite a tough RC too. Be great to do a comparison between this, the Typhon 6s and Radix. Using the same tyres to be a direct comparison. If you have the time of course. Definitely looks like a great buggy thats for sure. And yes the box slap was very appreciated lol.
I've had the Hobao Vs2e for over a year. For those hesitating I really recommend it. Super durable. Can be setup as a basher or for off road racing, which I'm currently doing.
That was a nice and proper in-depth introduction video to this cool buggy, definitely liked and subscribed! I'm currently researching this buggy, so I think I already watched all existing videos, so was nice that RU-vid AI suggested I'd watch yours also now. I watched some of your videos earlier, but for some reason I hadn't subbed yet. Looking forward to seeing your further videos on this, I am intending on installing pretty much same type power system in mine (haven't bought it yet), so curious to see how it does.
Thank you so much and welcome to the channel. Might be a little while before we see this car running as the weather has turned evil recently, but hopefully it won't last long and I'll be able to get out there and give it a proper run once this rain period passes. Thank you again for the nice comment and stay tuned for more. 🙂👍
NIce! Good review. I've liked these chassis for several years now. I never pulled the trigger on on because as reasonably priced as the chassis is, 1/8 electrics (esc/motor etc) are pricey. From what I've seen online though, they are tough and drive well.
My first 8th scale was a Hyper VSe and it was an absolute riot even on just 4S, Thing was an absolute tank aswell, Only things that ever broke were the front bulkhead (althought rarely) and the wing. Everything i've had since has been crap in comparison, I think my next RC will be one of these and probably "truggyfy" it.
Nice video Vas.. I love that it comes with shock boots to protect the shafts.. I wish Corally would supply their cars with them.. Can't wait for the drive vid! 😎👍
This buggy is so tempting, I'm personally a fan of Hobao/ Ofna products. My only doubt is part support, my LHS doesn't carry anything, so replacement parts are a week away by mail. I'm looking forward to your opinion on it vs. The current crop of 1/8 scale ebuggy Cheers from Ohio USA
Nice buggy. Looks smaller than a 1/8 scale on screen . They have came a long way from the likes of the hyper 7 / 8. Infact the 8 was worse than the 7series in electric especially. I wish that all rc body shells would hug firmly against the side of the chassis like buggies do making for no side flare on the body shell itself. Great video review once again. Love that color
If you're referring to the one above the HPI trucks, that's the Team Magic E5 MT 1/10 scale. It has a custom painted Beatle body on it (which is no longer available).
That spur gear is way too open for me, i thought my teknos are bad! Definitely set up for the track, but I think you will find a way to make it a basher! Can't wait to see it, thanks Vas!
Hobao makes some really interesting stuff. The MTX's one of the strongest out of the box bashers I've ever had. It's a shame they don't seem to have much interest in actually pushing their products in the US.
@@AussieRCPlayground hobao has their own website where you can buy the products in the US but they don't actually advertise them or really push them in any way. There's no real distribution network beyond their own site and A lot of people in the US have never even heard of them.
Standard 4s size is good or two standard 2s size batteries. I use a voltz 4800mah 6s personally because it's the same size as a normal 4s lipo. The dimensions for it are 138x44x48mm.
@@AussieRCPlayground thanks so much for the reply mate! I really appreciate you helping me out, when ever I need something answered you never let me down 😃
Hey vas sorry to bother you again but the front wheels at the top are leaning outwards. I was wondering how you adjust the camber on this buggy cheer fella
This is your first Hobao 1/8 buggy. That ofna buggy 8 was not hobao. Didn’t even look like Hong Nor. Not sure who made it. Now back to this buggy. Hobao do not know how to make a body shell that fits their buggies. The Hyper7 body didn’t fit the hyper 7. The exhaust rubbed. The linkages rubbed. The air filter got squished. 20 years later there’s no improvement. Everything else looks great.
